Artykuł oparty jest na kwerendzie archiwalnej wykonanej w zespole GUKPPiW (Głównego Urzędu Kontroli Prasy Publikacji i Widowisk), przechowywanym w Archiwum Akt Nowych w Warszawie. Jego zakres chronologiczny obejmuje lata 1948–1960, co wiąże się z dostępnością źródeł i zakresem przeprowadzonych badań. Autorka opisuje – na wybranych przykładach – kwestię cenzurowania tematyki rosyjskiej w literaturze pięknej polskiej (XIX–XX w.) oraz tłumaczonej na polski z języka rosyjskiego (XIX–XX w.). Na podstawie opisu losów edytorskich niektórych dzieł Mickiewicza, Słowackiego, Gałczyńskiego, Andrzejewskiego, Szymborskiej, Puszkina, Kuprina, Erenburga dochodzi do kilku wniosków. Stwierdza, że w interesującym okresie wątki rosyjskie cenzurowane były z najwyższą uwagą i ostrożnością, zawsze w odniesieniu do współczesnej sytuacji historycznej (politycznej zależności od ZSRR). Cenzorzy nie dopuszczali do prezentowania prawdy historycznej, bez zrozumienia czytali klasyków, z atencją traktowali natomiast pisarzy – komunistów. O sposobach kontrolowania tematyki rosyjskiej w latach 1948–1960 decydowały zawsze czynniki wobec tekstu zewnętrzne.

By carefully examining the works of Emerson, a well-known American poet and a look at his poetry and literature, themes and motifs, the influence of one of the great Iranian poets, Saadi Shirazi, can be made clear and confident. Emerson, who was recognized as the founder of the literary school of transcendentalism in American literature, was particularly interested in Sheikh Ajil Saadi, and in his opinion Sa'di was one of the world's greatest poets. The American poet was immersed in Saadi's poetry, tailoring it to his needs. This article tries to investigate Sa'di's contribution to Emerson's works. A poet like Emerson was immersed in Sa'di, loved Saadi, and repeatedly acknowledged that he would love to be like Sa'di and make poetry like his. In order to disseminate his philosophic belief, he needed viable sources from non-European countries. Emerson wanted to criticize the weaknesses of American culture by referring to other rich cultures. It is possible to demonstrate the part Saadi plays in Emerson’s poetry. Sa'di's poetic philosophy has also been embedded in his writings; hence, the sources which shows Emerson has benefited from Sa'di should not be overlooked, since these sources can prove Emerson's being influenced by Sa'di in this research.

Opis:
Journalists use sources to accord credibility to their news stories. However, they use unnamed sources when they feel the sources would be harmed for revealing information to the media. This qualitative study analyzes news from unnamed sources in political stories in Pakistani media. It uses grounded theory to find common themes in the news obtained from unnamed sources. The common themes found in the study were about political crises, and breakdown of law and order in Pakistan. The author discusses the ways in which unnamed sources were used in the stories. Many unnamed sources gave views that were different from those given by named sources in the same story, while a few stories did not give any indication of the rank of the unnamed sources in the hierarchy of the political party or the army.

Artykuł zawiera ujętą w syntetycznym skrócie panoramę sposobów i metod badania zjawiska tematów wędrownych krążących od dawna i od niedawna w obiegu kultury i sztuki filmowej. Autor opowiada się za eklektycznym, interdyscyplinarnym podejściem do tego zagadnienia, pozwalającym doraźnie wybrać najwłaściwszą z dziedzin i metod badawczych w zależności od stawianych pytań i sposobów podejścia do złożonej problematyki tematów wędrownych. Zaproponowane ujęcie nie oznacza dążenia do osiągnięcia pełnego uniwersalizmu naukowego, ale umożliwia synoptyczne rozpoznanie tego zjawiska w wybranych jego aspektach.
The article contains a synthesized panorama of means and methods of studying the phenomenon of migratory themes which have been present for longer and shorter periods of time in the context of film art and culture. The author is in favour of an eclectic, interdisciplinary approach to this issue, which will permit one to select the most appropriate discipline and research method depending on the questions asked and ways of approaching the complex subject of migratory themes. The proposed approach does not mean the pursuit of full scientific universality, but enables the synoptic identification of this phenomenon in selected aspects.

The article contains a synthetic overview of the trilogy The Age of Theory, edited by Danuta Ulicka. It is the first comprehensive study of the achievements of Polish theoretical literary studies since its birth in the 1920s. The edition includes a multi-author monograph, organized according to “cultural themes” (as understood by Opler), to which the author of the article devotes most of her attention,and an extensive selection of texts preceded by factual introductions (two volumes of anthology) representative of the problem blocks discussed in the first part. Without questioning the content of the anthology, and especially the cognitive value of the monograph, which is based on innovative methodological assumptions and proves that modern literary theory was born in Central and Eastern Europe, and Polish works played an important role in its development, the author wishes it included the work of W. Borowy, the pioneer of intertextuality or J. Baudouin de Courtenay’s texts, which foresaw heteroglosia and minus-device.

The aim of this paper is to present a theme of Orientalism in European classical music. After Orient and Orientalism have been shortly defined, both in the social and the musical context, attempts are made to analyse how the Oriental ideology, defined by Edward Said, has affected the works of composers in various historical periods. These aspects that prove Said’s theory can be easily found in European classical music. Along with chronological review of the Oriental themes in European music what is briefly presented are the changes of Oriental musical language across the centuries, starting with the 17th century.

The issue concerns writing the history of Polish literary studies. The core of the author’s proposition is to configure a corpus of texts regarded as theoretical around the so-called cultural themes. One instance of such a theme is reference. There is a compulsory starting point for reconstructing this theme that is so important for Polish scholarly culture: the concept of quasi-judgements. The article presents a redefinition of world renown Ingarden’s idea stressing its semantics roots, and giving the strong evidences for pragmatic foundations for differentiating the discursive field in his philosophy of literature.

Opis:
Agritourism is one of the tourism forms in rural areas, which allows visitors to have direct contact with a farmer’s family and the local population, due to which it allows to get to know the local culture, cuisine, customs, and also nature and animals. Agritourism activity is usually carried out in addition to the typical agricultural production. Nevertheless, it requires a large commitment of the owners, and often the whole family. The greatest successes in the activities are achieved by those farms, which in addition to an interesting offer, provide a friendly atmosphere and hospitality to guests and their owners are largely venturesome, open to new experiences, eager to get their education, speak foreign languages, and are able to use modern sources of advertising and distribution channels of their services. The study aimed at figuring the characteristics of a personal profile of owners of agritourism farms operating in Roztocze and ascertaining the reasons for making this type of activity. The study was conducted in 2012 by means of diagnostic survey method, including the questionnaire technique, among 100 owners of tourist farms, which accounted for 62.5% of all objects of this type operating in Roztocze. Based on achieved results, it was found that the owners of tourist farms in Roztocze are mainly middle-aged women working in agriculture for 40 years and coming from rural areas. Most often they have secondary education. The main motives of agritourism business is the desire to obtain additional income along with a local demand for such services.
Agroturystyka jest jedną z form turystyki na obszarach wiejskich, która pozwala turystom na bezpośredni kontakt z rodziną rolnika i lokalną ludnością. Przez co umożliwia poznanie lokalnej kultury, kuchni, zwyczajów, a także pozwala obcować z naturą i zwierzętami. Działalność agroturystyczna jest najczęściej prowadzona dodatkowo obok typowej produkcji rolniczej. Niemniej jednak wymaga dużego zaangażowania właścicieli a często całej rodziny. Największe sukcesy w swojej działalności odnoszą te gospodarstwa, które poza ciekawą ofertą, oferują swoim gościom przyjazną atmosferę i gościnność, a ich właściciele wykazują się dużą przedsiębiorczością, są otwarci na nowe doświadczenia, chętnie się dokształcają, znają języki obce, a także potrafią wykorzystywać nowoczesne źródła reklamy i kanały dystrybucji swoich usług. Przeprowadzone badania miały na celu charakterystykę sylwetki - profilu osobowego - właścicieli gospodarstw agroturystycznych funkcjonujących na Roztoczu oraz poznanie motywów podejmowania tej działalnościBadania przeprowadzono w 2012 roku, przy wykorzystaniu metody sondażu diagnostycznego, w tym techniki ankietowej, wśród właścicieli 100 gospodarstw agroturystycznych, co stanowiło 62,5% wszystkich obiektów tego typu działających na Roztoczu.Na podstawie otrzymanych wyników stwierdzono, że właścicielami gospodarstw agroturystycznych na Roztoczu są głównie kobiety w średnim wieku, pracujące w rolnictwie do 40 lat, pochodzące z obszarów wiejskich. Najczęściej posiadają wykształcenie średnie. Głównymi motywami prowadzenia działalności agroturystycznej jest chęć pozyskania dodatkowych dochodów i lokalny popyt na te usługi.

The main purpose of the essay is to present one of the juvenilia by Cesare Pavese as a coherent text worth of being diffused. For this reason, the poem “Frasi all’innamorata” (1930), in its original version, opens the essay. The interpretation of the text is undertaken to show both its literary and cultural inspirations (W. Whitman, G. Gozzano, psychoanalysis) and dominant artistic strategies (transforming poetry into prose, playing with colloquial speech and linguistic clichés). Moreover, the presentation of possible difficulties in translation of the poem leads to a reflection on the themes of Pavese’s poetry such as solitude, a lack of love, anxieties caused by human physicality, alienation, and disapproval of superficiality in interpersonal relations. The Polish version of the poem acts as a final proposal of its reading.
Artykuł stanowi komentarz do nieprzekładanego dotąd na polski iuvenilium Cesarego Pavese Frasi all’innamorata (1930). Wskazanie inspiracji wiersza (W. Whitman, G. Gozzano, echa psychoanalizy Freuda), analiza strategii artystycznych zastosowanych w utworze (stylizacja na prozę, posłużenie się językiem potocznym, wykorzystanie banału słownego jako tworzywa literackiego) oraz wyjaśnienie potencjalnych problemów translatorskich prowadzą do refleksji nad tematyką poezji Pavesego, oscylującą wokół wątków samotności, braku miłości, niepokojów związanych z odkrywaniem ludzkiej cielesności, wyobcowania i niezgody wobec konwenansów. Wiersz Pavesego w oryginale, interpretowany następnie jako ironiczne oskarżenie powierzchowności relacji międzyludzkich, poprzedza analityczną część tekstu, natomiast jego tłumaczenie, umieszczone na końcu, stanowi ostateczną propozycję interpretacyjną.

The process of adaptation to professional career remains an important issue, especially in the domain of professional consultancy. This article aims at the analysis of the relationships between the occupational themes, the ambiguity tolerance level in career decisions and the style of coping with career decision-making difficulties. The study covered 227 students. The participants were assigned occupational themes according to the results obtained from a Multifaceted Occupational Preferences Assessment questionnaire. They have been analysed for the diversity in terms of ambiguity tolerance in career decision-making (Career Decisions Ambiguity Tolerance questionnaire) and the styles of coping with difficulties in career decisions (Coping with Career Decisionmaking Difficulties questionnaire). It has been established that sex is not related to the aforesaid personality dispositions. Persons with the social occupational theme seek social support more often than persons categorised as other types; the artistic theme is most closely connected with the unproductive coping style, while persons categorised as enterprising exhibit the opposite tendency. Furthermore, a correlation between the ambiguity tolerance and the productive coping style in career decisions has been noted.

Così, l’obiettivo del presente lavoro è quello di condurre una ricerca preliminare sul linguaggio che è stato creato e sviluppato insieme alla gara sportiva più importante del mondo, ovvero i giochi olimpici, e di mostrare alcuni esempi della sua analisi. Prima si discutono le modifiche, integrazioni e revisioni sistematicamente introdotte nel testo della “Carta Olimpica”, invece la seconda parte dell’articolo consiste nell’abbastanza rapido esame di alcuni esempi dell’uso del linguaggio olimpico nei mass media, dove il testo verbale è inscindibilmente legato ai simboli olimpici e dove, di conseguenza, sorge una nuova potente dimensione di significato.
Ani w licznych i obszernych opracowaniach językoznawczych dotyczących języka sportu, ani w bogatej literaturze o charakterze historyczno-społecznym poświęconej olimpizmowi nie wspomina się o języku olimpijskim. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest sformułowanie wstępnych ustaleń dotyczących języka, który powstał i rozwinął się w kontekście wydarzenia sportowego o wielowiecznej tradycji i światowym zasięgu, jakim są igrzyska olimpijskie, oraz pokazanie pewnych przykładów jego analizy. W pracy omówiono poprawki wprowadzane do kolejnych wersji „Karty Olimpijskiej” oraz wykorzystanie symboliki i metaforyki Igrzysk, umiejętnie połączonej z tekstem, w przekazie medialnym.
Neither numerous and extensive linguistic studies of the language of sport, nor the rich socio-historical literature dedicated to the Olympism, focus on the Olympic language. This article makes up for this lacuna and examines the language that was created and developed together with the world’s most famous sporting event, the Olympic Games. In particular, it discusses modifications and revisions of the text of the “Olympic Charter” and the use of the Olympic symbols and themes, skillfully combined with text, in journalistic discourse.
