Opis:
In this paper, we consider some classes of a system of nonlinear fractional differential equations (FDEs) arising in some important physical phenomena. Using symmetry group of transformations, the given systems of fractional partial differential equations (FPDEs) are reduced to systems of fractional ordinary differential equations (FODEs). Further, using the group invariant condition, we solve the reduced systems of FODEs and exact solutions of the given equations are constructed. Finally, the physical significance of the solutions are investigated graphically based on the exact solutions in order to highlight the importance of the study.

Opis:
Over the last two decades, facial symmetry has been intensively researched. The present article aims to summarize empirical research concerning relations between facial symmetry and health and facial symmetry and personality. A systematic review of the literature shows that facial symmetry is one of the most influential visual markers of attractiveness and health, important for mate selection, while asymmetry can be considered a consequence of an individual’s inability to resist environmental and genetic stressors during development of the organism. However, in spite of evidence suggesting that preferences for facial symmetry are deeply rooted in our evolutionary history, a strong connection between facial symmetry and health is demonstrated only in studies measuring perceived health, while there is only scarce evidence corroborating the link between symmetry and actual health. The interconnections between facial symmetry and personality have not yet been extensively researched. Less than a dozen studies have addressed that issue and they have reached different conclusions. Some evidence suggests that facial symmetry signals personality attributes that indicate good psychological health, while other findings imply that pro-social personality traits negatively correlate with facial symmetry.

Opis:
Purpose: Subjects with post-stroke hemiparesis frequently present with asymmetric gait patterns. Symmetry, reflecting similarities in temporospatial, kinematic parameters, is an important measure of gait assessment. The study was designed to examine the relationships between asymmetry of temporal, spatial and kinematic gait parameters and walking velocity and distance. Methods: Temporospatial and kinematic gait parameters were examined in a group of 50 chronic post-stroke subjects and in a group of 25 healthy controls. Symmetry ratio was calculated for all the parameters. Gait velocity was measured during 10-metre test, the walking distance during 2-Minute Walk Test, and balance during Up&Go Test. Results: The relationship between stance phase duration symmetry and gait speed was at a moderate level (r = –0.43, p = 0.0173). There was a moderate relationship between swing phase symmetry and walking velocity and distance. The findings did not show a significant correlation between step length symmetry versus gait speed and distance. Conclusions: There is a mild relationship between self-selected gait velocity and walking distance versus temporal parameters symmetry. The findings do not confirm a relationship between self-selected gait velocity and walking distance versus spatial and kinematic parameters as well as balance. Likewise, no evidence confirms that asymmetry of temporal, spatial, kinematic gait parameters changes with the age of post-stroke subjects or is related to the length of time from stroke onset. Given the above, gait symmetry may be recognized as an important indicator of the level of gait control in post-stroke patients because it enables unique gait assessment, independent from other parameters.

Opis:
The classification of simple singularities in the post-buckling analysis of truss structures is well-known for elastic stability. To focus on multiple singularities including a hilltop bifurcation point (h-BP) and its bifurcation paths, we reviewed the multiple bifurcation analysis of multi-folding microstructure (MFM) models with periodic symmetry. Because the Jacobian at the h-BP of the MFM involves multiple 0-eigenvalues, it is challenging to analyse the bifurcation paths from the h-BP accurately. In this study, we investigated the multiple folding mechanism by analysing the neighbourhood of the h-BP and the symmetric subgroups of the geometric system in the two-dimensional plane and three-dimensional core of the MFM. We demonstrated that through the classification of multiple h-BP and bifurcation paths, it is possible to determine the unknown bifurcation equilibrium paths following h-BP, based on the Jacobian stability and the mechanism of symmetric subgroups in group theory containing the relationships between the primary path and the known bifurcation path(s) in the MFM system with periodic symmetry.

Opis:
Based on the games theory, an analysis of various cases of information symmetry and asymmetry was conducted with regard to market games in the telecommunications market. As an example, the influence of information about the structure of costs incurred by players competing for profit is analysed. Selected issues related to information limitations are presented, and benefits of overcoming such limitations are highlighted.
