Opis:
The paper presents the response of a three-layered annular plate with damaged laminated facings to the loads acting in their planes. The presented problem concerns the analysis of the combination of global plate failure in the form of buckling with the local micro defects, like fibre or matrix cracks, located in the laminas. The plate structure consists of thin laminated, fibre-reinforced composite facings and a thicker foam core. The matrix and fibre cracks of facings laminas can be transversally symmetrically or asymmetrically located in plate structure. Critical static and dynamic stability analyses were carried out solving the problem numerically and analytically. The numerical results show the static and dynamic stability state of the composite plate with different combinations of damages. The final results are compared with those for undamaged structure of the plate and treated as quasi-isotropic ones. The analysed problem makes it possible to evaluate the use of the non-ideal composite plate structure in practical applications.

$ẋ(t) - ∫₀^{η} dR̃(τ) ẋ(t-τ) = ∫_0^{η} dR(τ)x(t-τ) + [Fx](t) + u(t)$
(ẋ(t) ≡ dx(t)/dt), where x(t) is the state, u(t) is the input, R(τ),R̃(τ) are matrix-valued functions, and F is a causal (Volterra) mapping. Such equations enable us to consider various classes of systems from the unified point of view. Explicit input-to-state stability conditions in terms of the L²-norm are derived. Our main tool is the norm estimates for the matrix resolvents, as well as estimates for fundamental solutions of the linear parts of the considered systems, and the Ostrowski inequality for determinants.

Delay differential equations are used in mathematical models of biological, biochemical or medical phenomenons. Although the structure of these equations is similar to ordinary differential equations, the crucial difference is that a delay differential equation (or a system of equations) is an infinite dimensional problem and the corresponding phase space is a functional space — usually the space of continuous functions is considered. In this paper we present the basic theory of delay differential equations as well as some example of applications to models of biological, medical and biochemical systems.

These results are extended to inverse matrices of the state matrices of the positive linear systems.

Opis:
New methodologies for Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) are proposed in order to compensate actuator faults in nonlinear systems. These approaches are based on the representation of the nonlinear system by a Takagi-Sugeno model. Two control laws are proposed requiring simultaneous estimation of the system states and of the occurring actuator faults. The first approach concerns the stabilization problem in the presence of actuator faults. In the second, the system state is forced to track a reference trajectory even in faulty situation. The control performance depends on the estimation quality; indeed, it is important to accurately and rapidly estimate the states and the faults. This task is then performed with an Adaptive Fast State and Fault Observer (AFSFO) for the first case, and a Proportional-Integral Observer (PIO) in the second. Stability conditions are established with Lyapunov theory and expressed in a Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) formulation to ease the design of FTC. Furthermore, relaxed stability conditions are given with the use of Polya's theorem. Some simulation examples are given in order to illustrate the proposed approaches.

This paper proposes two nonlinear exact and simple state space models of a Zsource converter (ZSC) connected to an ac grid. A generic model of a ZSC accompanied with proper controllers are proposed and a dynamic model of the whole system is derived; as a result, based on a simple one, an equivalent block diagram of the current-controlled ZSC system is proposed. The ac small signal stability method is applied and the impact of controller parameters on network’s stability is discussed. Besides, overall system dynamic performance has been assessed in the event of perturbations. Time-domain simulations have been implemented in PSCAD/EMTDC to validate the accuracy of the models and effectiveness of the proposed controllers. The results of the exact model are compared with the response of the equations which are applied in MATLAB.

constitutive equation is proposed for describing changes of states of granular materials, which are sufficiently characterised by the void ratio and the stress tensor. It may be considered as an extension of the Critical State concept. It is based on recently published hypoplastic equations and covers a wide range of densities, pressures and deformations. A factorial decomposition allows a rather easy separation and determination of material parameters. Two factors depend on a relative void ratio so that it remains within lower and upper bounds. The bounding void ratios decrease monotonously from maximal values to zero with increasing pressure. The same reduction of the void ratio is proposed for an isotropic compression starting from a suspension. Thus a granulate hardness is defined, and a stiffness factor can be determined. Four material parameters can be estimated from classification tests and determined from the asymptotic behaviour in element tests. Four further parameters are determined by calibration; they are rather constant for wide groups of materials. Strength and stiffness values can be derived and used for the analysis of deformations, stability, and flow. The viscous behaviour is modelled by a rate dependent factor with one further parameter. Limitations and possible extensions of this comprehensive approach are also outlined.

This work aims to improve and simplify the procedure used in the Control Adjoining Cell Mapping with Reinforcement Learning (CACM-RL) technique, for the tuning process of an optimal contro ller during the pre-learning stage (controller design), making easier the transition from a simulation environment to the real world. Common problems, encountered when working with CACM-RL, are the adjustment of the cell size and the long-term evolution error. In this sense, the main goal of the new approach, developed for CACM-RL that is proposed in this work (CACMRL*), is to give a response to both problems for helping engineers in defining of the control solution with accuracy and stability criteria instead of cell sizes. The new approach improves the mathematical analysis techniques and reduces the engineering effort during the design phase. In order to demonstrate the behaviour of CACM-RL*, three examples are described to show its application to real problems. In All the examples, CACM-RL* improves with respect to the considered alternatives. In some cases, CACM- RL* improves the average controllability by up to 100%.

To deal with the problem of stability analysis of the event-time-driven modes in the networked control systems the delayed-dependent exponential stability conditions are reformulated and proven. Based on the delay-time dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, exponential stability criteria are derived. These criteria are expressed as a set of linear matrix inequalities and their structure can be modified to use the bilinear inequality techniques.

In this paper, we consider the mobility and stability of a model of a tractor-lorry-trailer combination, consisting of a two-axle tractor and a single-axle semi-trailer, and its possible stationary states with fixed steering. A feature of this research is the study of a non-linear mathematical model of a two-link tractor-lorry-trailer combination. The set of steady-state conditions for the movement of the tractor-lorry-trailer combination model is determined on the basis of the developed mathematical model; it provides the necessary mobility for the passage of the circular overall traffic lane. The range of stable steady-state conditions of the road train is limited and the character of the loss of stability in the direct motion of the road train (divergent, flutter) is checked. The phase portraits of the system are constructed at different speeds, which allow us to estimate the range of attraction for direct motion. Stability issues are also considered, namely, the influence of the control parameters (θ, v) on stability or instability.

Thus, they consitute a characterization of Lipschitz stability and sensitivity properties for state-constrained optimal control problems.

The article discusses the conceptualisation of fundamental concepts referring to interdependence between security and the economy. The concept of economic security that is dominant in Polish literature on the subject is in most cases identified with macroeconomic disequilibrium and instability. This makes it primarily an economic category. Hence the need to develop a catalogue of risks that are more extensively and comprehensively associated with national security. The article outlines two approaches to these issues. The sectoral approach delineates subcategories of security by industries and sectors of the economy (e.g. energy security). The problem approach singles out individual risk factors understood as mechanisms and phenomena carrying threats to the critical processes in the state. Basing on the problem approach, a catalogue of economic risk factors has been proposed: ownership structure, access to sensitive information and espionage, dependency on key raw materials, dependency on suppliers, state interventionism, corruption and fraud, social and economic instability, dependency on external decision-making centres, difficulties with financing security structures, and immigration.

Opis:
The stability problem of continuous-time linear fractional order systems with state delay is considered. New simple necessary and sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability are established. The conditions are given in terms of eigenvalues of the state matrix and time delay. It is shown that in the complex plane there exists such a region that location in this region of all eigenvalues of the state matrix multiplied by delay in power equal to the fractional order is necessary and sufficient for the asymptotic stability. Parametric description of boundary of this region is derived and simple new analytic necessary and sufficient conditions for the stability are given. Moreover, it is shown that the stability of the fractional order system without delay is necessary for the stability of this system with delay. The considerations are illustrated by a numerical example.

Opis:
The paper concerns the problem of stabilization of continuous-time linear systems with distributed time delays. Using extended form of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional candidate, the controller design conditions are derived and formulated with respect to the incidence of structured matrix variables in the linear matrix inequality formulation. The result give sufficient condition for stabilization of the system with distributed time delays. It is illustrated with a numerical example to note reduced conservatism in the system structure.

Opis:
The author's approach to tasks of constructing monitoring systems of the state changes of machines, devices and structures is presented in the paper. The weight and significance of the identification process of the monitored object dynamic model - as a factor which in an universal and coherent way preserves the realisation process of several tasks assigned to this system operations - is emphasised. Purposefulness of applying methods of the technical stability testing for estimation of dynamic behaviours of the monitored object, was indicated. Its usefulness for the selection of the proper monitoring symptoms, for determining their criterion values and for the estimation of their exceeding the permissible values - are shown in the paper.
W artykule zaproponowano autorskie podejście do zadań konstruowania systemów monitorujących zmiany stanów maszyn, urządzeń, konstrukcji.

Opis:
We study the relaxation by Young measures of a Dirichlet control problem with pointwise state constraints. We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the properness of the relaxation. This condition is expressed in terms of stability properties, for the original control problem, with respect to geometrical perturbations of state constraints.
