Opis:
In this article, the author considered certain time fractional equations using joint integral transforms. Transform method is a powerful tool for solving singular integral equations, integral equation with retarded argument, evaluation of certain integrals and solution of partial fractional differential equations. The obtained results reveal that the transform method is very convenient and effective. Illustrative examples are also provided.

In this paper, we concern by a very general cubic integral equation and we prove that this equation has a solution in C[0; 1]. We apply the measure of noncompactness introduced by Banaś and Olszowy and Darbo's fixed point theorem to establish the proof of our main result.

Opis:
We study the existence and uniqueness of the solution of a fractional boundary value problem with conformable fractional derivation of the Caputo type, which increases the interest of this study. In order to study this problem we have introduced a new definition of fractional integral as an inverse of the conformable fractional derivative of Caputo, therefore, the proofs are based upon the reduction of the problem to a equivalent linear Volterra-Fredholm integral equations of the second kind, and we have built the minimum conditions to obtain the existence and uniqueness of this solution. The analytical study is followed by a complete numerical study.

Opis:
A one dimensional heat equation in a semi-infinite medium controlled through a heat source depending on the delayed heat flux at the extremum is studied. By reducing the problem to a delayed Volterra integral equation with a weakly singular kernel, we find conditions on the initial datum and on the source term of the equation to control the asymptotic behaviour of the mean temperatures.

Artykuł zawiera kluczowe aspekty historii rozwoju metod jakościowych nieliniowej analizy funkcjonalnej (twierdzenia o punkcie stałym, teoria stopnia odwzorowania, teoria przestrzeni Orlicza), w~ramach których najbardziej uwidoczniły się wzajemne oddziaływania polsko-radzieckie. Do połowy XX wieku w dziedzinach tych  dokonał się  postęp za sprawą  przedstawicieli lwowskiej szkoły matematycznej, warszawskiej szkoły matematycznej, moskiewskiej szkoły matematycznej  i odeskiej szkoły matematycznej. Analiza ich rezultatów stanowi główną część niniejszej pracy. Szczególną uwagę zwracamy na badania matematyka radzieckiego M. A. Krasnosel'skiego, który korzystał z wyników J. Schaudera i K. Borsuka oraz z przestrzeni Orlicza przy rozwiązywaniu szerokiej klasy problemów z jakościowej teorii nieliniowych równań całkowych.
The paper includes key aspects of the history of development of qualitative methods of non-linear functional analysis (fixed point theorems, theory of mapping degree, theory of Orlicz spaces), within the framework of which Polish-Soviet interaction was most clearly manifested. In the period up to the mid-twentieth century these areas were advanced by the representatives of Lvov Mathematical School, Warsaw Mathematical School, Moscow Mathematical School and Odessa Mathematical School. Examination of their results is a significant part of this work. Much attention is paid to the investigations of the Soviet mathematician M.A. Krasnosel'skii, who used the achievements of J. Schauder and K. Borsuk as well as Orlicz spaces for solving a wide class of problems in qualitative theory of nonlinear integral equations.

The present paper is concerned with the identification of an obstacle or void of different conductivity included in a two-dimensional domain by measurements of voltage and currents at the boundary. We employ a reformulation of the given identification problem as a shape optimization problem as proposed by Roche and Sokolowski (1996). It turns out that the shape Hessian degenerates at the given hole which gives a further hint on the ill-posedness of the problem. For numerical methods, we propose a preprocessing for detecting the barycentre and a crude approximation of the void or hole. Then, we resolve the shape of the hole by a regularized Newton method.

Opis:
A special description of the boundary variation in a shape optimization problem is investigated. This, together with the use of a potential theory for the state, result in natural embedding of the problem in a Banach space. Therefore, standard differential calculus can be applied in order to prove the Frechet-differentiability of the cost function for appropriately chosen data (sufficiently smooth). Moreover, necessary optimality conditions are obtained in a similar way as in other approaches, and are expressed in terms of an adjoint state for more regular data.

W artykule wykazano zbieżność homotopijnej metody perturbacyjnej dla układów równań całkowych Fredholma drugiego rodzaju. Podano także oszacowanie błędu rozwiązania przybliżonego uzyskanego jako suma częściowa tworzonego w metodzie szeregu.

The method of boundary curve reparametrization is generalized to the case of multiply connected domains. We construct the approximate analytical conformal mapping of the unit disk with m circular slits and n-m radial slits and an annulus with (m-1) circular slits and n-m radial slits onto an arbitrary given (n+1) multiply connected finite domain with a smooth boundary. The method is based on extension of the Lichtenstein-Gershgorin equation to a multiply connected domain. The proposed method is reduced to the solution of a linear system with unknown Fourier coefficients. The approximate mapping function has the form of a Cauchy integral. Numerical examples demonstrate that the proposed method is effective in computations.

A cellular automaton model is presented in order to describe mutual interactions among the individuals of a population due to social decisions.The scheme is used for getting qualitative results, comparable to field experiments carried out on a population of ants which present an aggregative behavior. We also present a second description of a biological spatially structured population of N individuals by a system of stochastic differential equations of Ito type. A 'law of large numbers' to a continuum dynamics described by an integro-differential equation is given.

The principal aim of this paper is to give sufficient conditions for solvability of a class of some nonlinear functional integral equations in the space of continuous functions defined on interval [0,a]. The main tool used in our study is associated with the technique of measures of noncompactness. This article is concerned with the study of frictionless contact between a rigid punch and a transversely isotropic functionally graded layer. The rigid punch is assumed to be axially symmetric and is supposed to be pressing the layer by an applied concentrated load. The layer is resting on a rigid base and is assumed to be sufficiently thick in comparison with the amount of indentation by the rigid punch. The graded layer is modeled as a non-homogeneous medium. The relationship between the applied load P and the contact area is obtained by solving the mathematically formulated problem through using the Hankel transform of different order. Numerical results have been presented to assess the effects of functional grading of the medium and the applied load on the stress distribution in the layer as well as on the relationship between the applied load and the area of contact.
