Aquaculture is an industry that has developed rapidly over the past decades. Despite several hazards in the operations, emergency preparedness is not at the same level as in the rest of the maritime industry. This paper highlights some possibilities to increase the aquaculture industry’s coastal emergency preparedness. This paper is the result of the innovation project “Coastal Emergency Preparedness” funded by the Norwegian Research Council and industry partners. The aquaculture industry must establish its own emergency preparedness. In this paper, the innovation of a fleet of emergency preparedness vessels along the coastline, which could fill the gaps in emergency preparedness, is presented. The vessels would be of varied sizes, with different equipment and response times, and could assist the aquaculture industry during local incidents or large‐scale ones, such as algae blooms or winter storms, that affect many sites at the same time. Each production zone would need its own dedicated fleet due to biosecurity regulations. The emergency preparedness vessel fleet would be led by an on‐scene commander. The fleet would deal with oil spills and tasks such as emergency towing, firefighting, rescue of people, recapturing of fish, silage making, algae detection, and diving missions. With such a vessel fleet, small and large aquaculture companies could increase their emergency preparedness with a common strategy and shared resources.

The aim of this study was to validate a 24-item TEPID (Teachers of EFL Preparedness to Include Dyslexics) scale measuring the beliefs of 546 pre-service and in-service teachers of English as a foreign language (EFL) across three countries (Cyprus, Greece, and Poland) on their preparedness to include learners with dyslexia in mainstream foreign language (FL) classes. Principal component analysis of the scale led to a two-factor structure, that is, knowledge and self-efficacy in implementing inclusive instructional practices with dyslexic EFL learners, and stance towards inclusion. The analysis of measurement invariance confirmed the generalizability of the TEPID across all subgroups and allowed valid comparisons between factor variances and covariances. The scale is a useful tool for investigating perceived teacher preparedness to include dyslexic learners and variables that influence TEPID, comparing the results across countries, and designing tailored pre-service and in-service training schemes on inclusion.

Finland has long been following the comprehensive security strategy creating a network of cooperation between authorities, businesses, organisations, and citizens. Its comprehensive approach to providing the population’s security is viewed as a model for Europe. Finland has become the leader in building national preparedness for contemporary challenges and threats. This preparedness is more than an approach, it is also an ability fostered by the whole society. Most importantly, such an approach is widely supported in society. This comprehensive approach to security makes it possible to maintain social functions, promote the well-being and security of citizens, and protect the nation’s independence. The aim of the article is to present the concept of national preparedness and to analyse practical ways of achieving comprehensive security in Finland.

The objective of this paper is to identify, analyze and assess NATO’s and the EU’s responses to hybrid threats targeting Europe, in particular the Baltics, the Visegrád Groupand the Balkancountries. It considers measures, regulations, structures and capabilities of both organizations. The main hypothesis stipulates that strengthening resilience through civil preparedness is the basis of both NATO and EU strategies to counter hybrid threats, and that cybersecurity, strategic communication and military mobility are key areas the two organizations are working on.Is resilient cyberspace critical for our daily life, economy, and national security? Should we enhance strategic communications to prevent disinformation? How to prepare our civil sectors so that they continue providing essential services to population and supporting military operations in a crisis? Europe is facing the greatest security challenges since the end of the Cold War. The seizure of Crimea, destabilization of Eastern Ukraine, disinformation campaigns, cyber-attacks, terrorism, crisis in the Middle East, poverty, and global financial volatility create new challenges and involve Western countries in a hybrid war, fought predominantly on cyber and information fronts with the extensive use of social media. Meanwhile, globalization has made the security environment more demanding, raising an urgent question: How to prepare for a crisis?

Optimizing Certificate German (ZD) Test Preparation with Regard to Task Form Placement and progress tests are used to provide optimum instruction. Experience with test task forms at various times in various situations increase task related skills and reduce test anxiety – closed tasks exercising recognition; open tasks production. Very important are skills in comprehending test task instructions and carrying them out. As an alternative to the more stressful schoolroom work, E-tests and CD-ROM work facilitate and stimulate preparation so long as the desired goals are kept in the forefront.

Among current global threats, the risk of developing an emergency requires a comprehensive approach from all entities involved in crisis management. Despite the advanced technologies available to predict each threat, taking appropriate countermeasures is often impossible. Often the best solution is to prepare in advance and act efficiently after the occurrence of a given threat event. It is also crucial to implement the latest methods and solutions that allow for better preparation and response in case of an emergency. This article presents the results of the analysis of the use of modern satellite systems aimed at, among others, improving security in the event of armed conflicts and crises. This perspective is written for two reasons. Foremost is to present the potential of the existing Polish security system, which aims to reduce the risks and minimise the problems of crisis management associated with natural disasters. Secondly, to foster a discussion and create a basis for exchanging information and advances within the countries implementing similar solutions. It is especially crucial in joint actions with neighbouring countries in case of emergencies and disasters in border areas.

The article outlines the new tasks of NATO and allies in the field of non-military preparations, including „civil preparedness”, „civil readiness” and „resilience”. The existing civil NATO structures, as well as the tasks and role of the member states are analysed. NATO system of civil expert is described and changes in national regulations are proposed to enable further use of NATO experts by Polish military and civil bodies.
Artykuł przedstawia nowe zadania NATO i krajów członkowskich w zakresie przygotowań pozamilitarnych, w odniesieniu do których w NATO używa się takich terminów, jak „civil preparedness - przygotowania cywilne”, „civil readiness - gotowość cywilna” oraz „resilience - odporność”. Analizowane są istniejące cywilne struktury NATO oraz zadania i rola państw członkowskich. Opisany jest system cywilnego doradztwa eksperckiego oraz proponowane są zmiany w regulacjach krajowych umożliwiające dalsze wykorzystanie systemu doradztwa na rzecz wojska i instytucji cywilnych.

The article presents the date of correlation analysis of indicators of coordination and conditioning preparadness and basic exercises mastering of young athletes in acrobatics and gymnastics. The role of coordination component in the learning process of basic exercises at the stage of initial training in gymnastic sport was substantiated.
