Opis:
The infinite time suboptimal control problem for continuous-time nonlinear positive systems is formulated and solved. A solution to the problem using input-state linearization and state-dependent Riccati equation method (SDRE) is established, a procedure for solving the problem is proposed and illustrated with a numerical example.

Opis:
Fault input channels represent a major challenge for observer design for fault estimation. Most works in this field assume that faults enter in such a way that the transfer functions between these faults and a number of measured outputs are strictly positive real (SPR), that is, the observer matching condition is satisfied. This paper presents a systematic approach to adaptive observer design for joint estimation of the state and faults when the SPR requirement is not verified. The proposed method deals with a class of Lipschitz nonlinear systems subjected to piecewise constant multiplicative faults. The novelty of the proposed approach is that it uses a rank condition similar to the observer matching condition to construct the adaptation law used to obtain fault estimates. The problem of finding the adaptive observer matrices is formulated as a Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) optimization problem. The proposed scheme is tested on the nonlinear model of a single link flexible joint robot system.

Opis:
The aim of this paper is to show that a real order generalization of the dissipative concepts is a useful tool to determine the stability (in the Lyapunov and in the input-output sense) and to design control strategies not only for fractional order non-linear systems, but also for systems composed of integer and fractional order subsystems (mixed-order systems). In particular, the fractional control of integer order system (e.g. PI? control) can be formalized. The key point is that the gradations of dissipativeness, passivity and positive realness concepts are related among them. Passivating systems is used as a strategy to stabilize them, which is studied in the non-adaptive as well as in the adaptive case.

Opis:
Let D be a bounded $C^(1,1)$ -domain in $R^d$, d ≥ 2. The aim of this article is twofold. The first goal is to give a new characterization of the Kato class of functions $K(D)$ that was defined by $N$. Zeddini for $d = 2$ and by $H$. Mâagli and M. Zribi for $d ≥ 3$ and adapted to study some nonlinear elliptic problems in $D$. The second goal is to prove the existence of positive continuous weak solutions, having the global behavior of the associated homogeneous problem, for sufficiently small values of the nonnegative constants $λ$ and $μ$ to the following system $Δu = λf(x, u, v)$, $Δv = μg(x, u, v)$ in D, $u = ϕ_1$ and $v = ϕ_2$ on $∂D$, where $ϕ_1$ and $ϕ_2$ are nontrivial nonnegative continuous functions on $∂D$. The functions $f$ and g are nonnegative and belong to a class of functions containing in particular all functions of the type $f(x, u, v) = p(x)u^(α) h_1 (v)$ and $g(x, u, v) = q(x)h_2 (u)v^β$ with $α ≥ 1$, $β ≥ 1$, $h_1$, $h_2$ are continuous on $[0,∞)$ and $p$, $q$ are nonnegative functions in $K(D)$.
