Es ist längst erkannt worden, dass die Bergpredigt im Mt- und Lk- Evangelium eine zweifache, theologisch und literarisch verschiedene Fassung der messianischen Programmrede des Herrn darstellen. Die darin enthaltenen sittlichen Forderungen wurden bereits mehrmals gewürdigt. Es ist aber interessant nachzuforschen, welche ethische Ideale Jesus bei den Zuhörern voraussetzte bzw. in welche konkrete sittliche Situation der Ruf der Bergpredigt erging. Anhand des Mt-Berichtes versucht der Artikel genau zu erörtern: 1. welche theologisch-ethische Vorstellungen können den direkten Hörern des Herrn (insofern dies greifbar ist) zugemutet werden, 2. Auf welchem Wege und in welcher Richtung gelangen die sittlichen Forderung Jesu in den Evangelien bzw. in den späteren Schriften des Neuen Testaments zur Entfaltung, 3. Was ergibt diese Entfaltung für den Ausleger der Bergpredigt heute, 4. welche sittliche Inhalte kommen einzelnen ethischen Grundbegriffen zu?

Radon (222Rn) activity concentration in outdoor air was measured, using AlphaGuard radon monitors, at 25 points in the Mt. Etna area, at different distances and in different directions from the summit. Values of up to 93 Bqźm–3 were found at three points close to the summit, at altitudes of about 3000 m above the sea level, and in the range of 3.0–19.6 Bqźm–3 elsewhere. An average radon concentration of 7.9 Bqźm–3 was obtained in the northern region, 4.8 Bqźm–3 in the eastern (oriented towards the sea), 9.6 Bqźm–3 in the western (the furthest inland), and 6.5 Bqźm–3 in the southern.

The paper presents the Early Medieval history of the Giecz settlement complex and characteristic of its landscape. The stronghold in Giecz is the oldest among the so-called central strongholds of the Piast monarchy, dated to around 865 AD, i.e. to the tribal period. The settlement was located in the vicinity of Góra Górzno - probably a sacred mount. The remains of stone architecture – palatium were dated to the first half of the 11th century. The studies on vegetation history, based on the sediments from fossil lake, provided a Holocene record of environmental changes and development of cultural landscape

There is continued great interest in determining the trace element and heavy metal content of volcanic ash for a variety of reasons. The motivation stems from the desire to understand the geochemistry of volcanic ash in imbedded geological formations, the impact on seawater, and the possible release of toxic elements into the environment that may impact livestock grazing and water systems. Ash from volcanic plumes can go as high 8-18 km thus affecting climate and air traffic. We have employed Compton suppression neutron activation analysis (NAA) with thermal and epithermal neutrons to determine trace elements in volcanic ash from Indonesian eruption of Mount Merapi in October 2010. We found a wide range of elements, including several rare earth elements.

The Old Testament presents prophet Elijah as an uncompromising defender of Yahwism who saves the Israeli nation from religious syncretism prevailing in the times of king Ahab. Although Elijah left no written records, the role he played in the history of ancient Israel makes him one of the most remarkable figures in the Old Testament. The greatness of Elijah can be measured not only by his accomplishments in defending Yahwism but also by the ability to experience and overcome personal crises. The author begins his paper with a short analysis of the term ’crisis’, based on the Old and New Testament as well as apocryphal literature. Then, a biography of prophet Elijah is presented followed by the analysis of Elijah’s religious activity, taking into account the role of personal crises in his life. The author ends the paper by emphasizing the universal dimension of Elijah’s religious experience.

Mt. Medvednica is an inselberg in NW Croatia which tectonically lies at the intersection between Southeastern Alps, Northwestern Dinarides and Tisza Mega-Unit of the Pannonian basin. Due to the Pliocene-Quaternary N-S directed transpression it experienced a differential uplift between 1500-2000 m and exposes pre-Neogene and Neogene tectonic and stratigraphic units surrounded by Pliocene-Quaternary sediments. This paper evaluates a set of methods in quantitative morphometry, used here for identification of tectonically active areas within a region characterized by low-rate active folding and faulting during the Pliocene-Quaternary times. Analysis employed extraction of hypsometric curves, calculation of hypsometric integral, asymmetry factor, and statistical parameters of normalized longitudinal main stream profiles of 36 drainage basins delineated from a 25-m resolution DEM of Mt. Medvednica area. Despite lithological heterogeneity, obtained morphometric parameters are considered as fairly good indicators for discriminating tectonically active from inactive areas. Based on calculated parameters, in combination with geological data, the most tectonically active areas during the Quaternary are found at the SW corner of the Mt. Medvednica related to an active segment of the North Medvednica Boundary Fault, and in the central part of the mountain related to the Kašina fault zone subdividing mountain into the NE and SW units.

The article presents the results of the latest technological research statue of Christ on the Mount of Olives from the collection of the Malbork Castle Museum, and two other sculptures: the statue of St. Elizabeth from St. John Church in Malbork, and the statue of St. Barbara from St. John Church in Toruń (now the Diocesan Museum in Pelplin). As stated in a study commissioned by the Castle Museum, all of the figures are made from the same stone, which is a margly limestone, built mainly of calcite and containing some detrital components, such as quartz and glauconite and small amounts of ore minerals. Lithologically it shows a strong resemblance to the „Golden opuka” (Plänerkalk) – spongilite or marly chert from Prague. The results support the postulate that the figures come from a Czech workshop and allows very likely be considered as imports from Prague. It is another testament to anextensive artistic impact of this resort at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries.

Problem ubóstwa i zadłużania się gospodarstw domowych jest aktualny od wielu wieków. Borykające się z problemami finansowymi osoby, ratujące się kredytami lichwiarskimi na bardzo wysoki procent, wzbudziły w XVI wieku zainteresowanie księdza Piotra Skargi, który rozpowszechnił instytucje takie, jak Bractwo Miłosierdzia, Skrzynka św. Mikołaja, Bractwo św. Łazarza czy Bank Pobożny, który szczególnie skupiał się na problemach osób ubogich, mających zadłużenia. Pomysł założenia banku, który udzielałby osobom potrzebującym i wierzącym pożyczek na podreperowanie swojej sytuacji materialnej lub założenie niewielkiej działalności przynoszącej zyski, ks. Skarga zaczerpnął z Włoch, gdzie taka idea była znana już w XIII wieku. W Polsce banki te za sprawą ks. Skargi zostały założone między innymi w Warszawie, Łowiczu, Pułtusku, Zamościu. Najbardziej jednak znany był bank w Krakowie, który działał w latach 1584-1953. Udzielano w nim bezprocentowych pożyczek pod zastaw klejnotowy bądź sukienny. Zastawiane fanty były różne (od elementów ubiorów po zastawę stołową). Zasady dotyczące funkcjonowania Banku opracował ks. Skarga. Pierwsze trzysta lat funkcjonowania Banku aż do jubileuszowego roku 1884 to czas zarówno sukcesów, jak i kryzysów. Nigdy jednak instytucja ta nie odeszła od głównej idei, czyli pomagania osobom ubogim i zadłużonym na lichwiarski procent w wyjściu z trudnej sytuacji. Nie bez powodu nazywana jest „przodkiem” mikrokredytów, wyprowadziła bowiem z kryzysu wielu ludzi.
The problem of poverty and accumulating debt of the households is present for many centuries. People who were trying to save themselves from financial problems by loaning money on abusive interest rates aroused Piotr Skarga's interest in XVIth century. He popularized institutions such as The Brotherhood of Charity, st. Nicolaus Chest, The Brotherhood of st. Lazarus. Mount of Piety is to be distinguished among them, which held a particular interest in people with problem of debt and poverty. The idea of bank, which would lend faithful people in need loan in order to enhance their financial situation or to create a profitable small business, Skarga borrowed from Italy. In Italy the idea had been present already in XIII century. In Poland this kind of banks, thanks to Skarga, were established among others in Warsaw, Łowicz, Pułtusk, Zamość. The most famous one is the one in Cracow, which was operating in 1584-1953. There people would lend money with no interest-rates on jewelry or broadcloth. There was a variety of pawns, starting from parts of clothing to dinner sets. All the rules of the bank functioning were set by Skarga. The first 300 years of functioning of the bank until the commemorative 1884 were the times of ups and downs. The institution did not go astray from the main idea of helping people with a high interest-rate debts to pull through. That is why the institution is called the predecessor of micro-financing, because just like micro-financing the bank helped many people in times of need.

W powyższym artykule podjęto się próby analizy jedynie kilku z wielu aspektów, które zawiera w sobie wydarzenie Przemienienia Pańskiego. Skupiono się przede wszystkim na prześledzeniu i porównaniu opowiadania ewangelicznego dotycz ącego Metamorfozy Chrystusa, które ukazane zostało szczegółowo przez trzech Synoptyków. Zwrócono głównie uwagę na różnice i podobieństwa zachodzące w ich relacjach oraz na to, jak poszczególne elementy Ewangelii były rozumiane i interpretowane, mając na uwadze literaturę patrystyczną, badania biblistów i teologów kościelnych. Odniesiono się ponadto do poszczególnych etapów historycznego rozwoju święta Przemienienia, zarówno na Wschodzie jak i Zachodzie.
In this article the author undertakes an attempt to analyze only a few of the many aspects contained in the episode of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. Special attention is mainly paid to investigate and compare a gospel story about The Metamorphoses which has been presented in detail by three Synoptics. The author highlights the differences and similarities between the Synoptics Gospels and how their individual elements were understood and interpreted in patristic literature and research of Bible scholars and Christian theologians. Moreover, the author makes reference to various stages in historical development of the Feast of the Transfiguration in both the East and West.

The article deals with the solution to the problem of holding a scanning device – GoPro camera in the vicinity of milling machine EMCO Concept MILL 105, practical part solves the design and production of the fixture. The proposal of the fixture includes the best placing of the fixture within the milling area. On this basis individual variants of this solution are elaborated. The best variant for holding of the camera was selected and fixture production was experimentally performed on a 3D printer – Easy 3D Maker. Fixture functionality was verified on the milling machine.

The author shows the literary background of the evangelical Beatitudes in the books of wisdom from the Old Testament (Psalms, Proverbs, and Sirach). He starts with an explication of the grammatical form of ashre (lit. „happiness”: status constructus dualiś). Finally, he discusses two Qumran parallels (4Q185 and 525). They illustrate the transition from individual beatitudes, found in the sapiential literature of the Old Testament, to the series of evangelical beatitudes.
