Opis:
The paper presents the study of the effectiveness of the grinding in an electromagnetic mill for limestone with the feed particle size up to 0.5 mm and 1 mm. The goal was to prepare material for specific particle size fractions of fine and coarse sorbents used for flue gas desulfurization. The work focused on optimizing the duration of the grinding and selecting grinding media properties to obtain the highest relative increase in the 50 μm and 50-100 μm particle size fraction in the grinding product. An important element for grinding control is the knowledge of the impact characteristics for main parameters and factors on the efficiency of the material comminution. The grinding results show its kinetics of grinding product yield. A model was also created that shows the relationship between grinding time and the process efficiency and can be used to optimize the process. The research allowed to determine the impact of changes in the parameters of the mill and the feed, which will allow to determine the controls for the system’s continuous operation. It is crucial to determine the efficiency of the mill. It depends on the degree of material fragmentation and the granularity of the feed subjected to the grinding. Both of these parameters are different for different raw materials. Determination of grinding kinetics models allowed to determine the dependence of function between the growth of the selected particle size fraction in the product and the residence time of material.

Opis:
Purpose: The aim of the research was to describe the properties and methods of using limestone for desulfurization of flue gases and to analyse the process of fluidized bed comminution and the influence of selected parameters and stand modification on quality of product of fluidized bed comminution. Design/methodology/approach: Tests of the grinding process on the fluidized bed were carried out using a modified fluid bed mill for operational variable parameters and their results were compared with the results received before modification. The modification of the test stand consisted of increasing the height of the grinding chamber, which ensured an increase in the volume of the fluidized layer where the grinding process takes place. Findings: Main parameters that determined the effects of comminution in the analyzed case were: overpressure of working air and the rotor speed of the classifier. The introduction of the modifications of the test stand ensured an increase in the volume of the fluidized layer in which the grinding process takes place. As well as a greater gravitational classification, which caused larger grains to be stopped in the grinding chamber and shift of characteristics of grain compositions towards finer grains. Research limitations/implications: It is assumed that the diameter of sorbent grains used in the fluidized bed can not exceed 6 mm. The granularity of the offered sorbents ranges from 0.1 mm to 1.2 mm. The quality of the desulfurization process depends on the overall granulation of used sorbent grains. Practical implications: Appropriately selected sorbent grains used in wet and dry flue gas desulphurisation plants ensure improved efficiency of the desulphurisation process and lower operating costs of the installation. Originality/value: Thanks to the comminution method used, a sorbent is obtained without impurities and with an increased specific surface, which can be used in fluidized bed boilers.

Opis:
Rozdrabnianie jest jedną z operacji jednostkowych często stosowanych w wielu gałęziach przemysłu chemicznego, przemysłu energetycznego, spożywczego, kosmetycznego, farmaceutycznego i innych. Ze względów procesowych cząstki są rozdrabniane do tysięcznych części milimetra, przy czym uzyskanie zdefiniowanego rozkładu ziarnowego surowca ma swe odzwierciedlenie w jakości otrzymanego produktu, w jego właściwościach, jak również wpływa na sposób prowadzenia procesu [1÷4].
One of the interesting areas of uses wet grinding process are reactions with solid sorbent, e.g. as in case of wet process flue gas desulfurization where grinding level influence on sorbent reactivity. The results of researches of wet grinding process and influence of grinding level of lime stone on its reactivity in wet desulfurization process have been introduced in the article. The researches of wet grinding process in hybrid mixer with two eccentric agitators: disc and hybrid paddle agitator have been carried on. Both of equations of energy transmission coefficient and of elementary work ofwet grinding process of lime stone in mixer with two eccentric agitators which the best describes according to Kick's assumptions with constant CK=6175,87 m2/s2 have been developed (1). Whereas the process of wet grinding has been described by equation which enable qualifying the indispensable time of wet grinding for set grinding level: The energy transmission coefficient can be determinate from criterion equation: Size reductions amount of do32/d32=44,08/1,26=35 bring about 5,5 times growth of lime stone suspension reactivity have been obtained during research. Thanks to growth of sorbent reactivity the decrease of thickness of spraying as well as circulation ratio of suspension in absorber in typical installation of desulfurization with capacity of 2100000 Nm3/h is possibility to get. Such situation gives an opportunity to disconnect one of the circulation pump which allowed to save about 900kW energy and in theyear about 2500 t of standard energetic carbon.
