Opis:
We consider a sequence of projects of independent activities; each project composed of activities available for realization at the same time. It is assumed that the activities are continuous dynamical systems whose dynamics depend continuously on the allotted amounts of the resource, and the initial and terminal states are fixed. The problem is to allocate a renewable, continuously divisible resource (e.g., power, fuel flow, money per time unit, approximate manpower) to the activities in order to minimize the performance time of the sequence of projects under the assumption that the allowable level of the total usage of the resource is constant. Although the solution to this problem is known in the literature, nevertheless there is a lack of effective computational algorithms for the time-optimal resource allocation, especially in the case of really large projects. In this paper a decentralized two-level control scheme using the time-decomposition is proposed to find the time-optimal resource allocation in a sequence of projects. The price mechanism is applied to coordinate the lower level tasks of the optimal resource allocation in the successive time intervals determined by the moments at which the successive projects are available for realization. Necessary and sufficient conditions to ensure the determination of the optimal resource allocation according to the method proposed are stated. The problems connected with the numerical realization of the scheme are discussed and the resulting computer algorithm is outlined.

A novel fuzzy neural network, called FuNN, is applied here for time-series modeling. FuNN models have several features that make them well suited to a wide range of knowledge engineering applications. These strengths include fast and accurate learning, good generalisation capabilities, excellent explanation facilities in the form of semantically meaningful fuzzy rules, and the ability to accomodate both numerical data and existing expert knowledge about the problem under consideration. We investigate the effectiveness of the proposed neuro-fuzzy hybrid architectures for manipulating the future behaviour of nonlinear dynamical systems and interpreting fuzzy if-then rules. A well-known example of Box and Jenkins is used as a benchmark time series in the proposed modelling approach and the other modelling approach. Finally, experimental results and comparisons with the other popular neuro-fuzzy inference system, namely Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) are also presented.

Opis:
COVID-19 is a disease emerged from China in the late 2019 and still spreading to this date. Scientists worldwide are trying to give their contributions in many aspects, from searching for the vaccine to studying several policies in many aspects to deal with this disease. One of the important researches in COVID-19 is to study and predict the dynamic of the spreading by using epidemiological model. This research has been taken in many countries independently since the behavior of COVID-19 spreading might differ from one another. Each country has their own characteristics-e.g., the population density, geographic condition, health facilities and infrastructure, weather condition-which caused the different patterns of COVID-19 spreading. Therefore, each country probably has their own unique parameters which describe their own dynamicity of COVID-19 spreading even though the epidemiological models used in different countries are the same. Thus, in this paper, we estimate the parameters involved in our SIR epidemiological model for cases in Indonesia by using Least Square Method in Python. We use the daily cases released from Indonesian COVID-19 Response Acceleration Task Force. Several assumptions are made in this model, including the assumption that there is no vaccination to be released yet. The result shows that the COVID-19 will still exists in Indonesia for over 1.9 years from the first case emerged (until mid January 2022).

We formulate and analyze an unconditionally stable nonstandard finite difference method for a mathematical model of HIV transmission dynamics. The dynamics of this model are studied using the qualitative theory of dynamical systems. These qualitative features of the continuous model are preserved by the numerical method that we propose in this paper. This method also preserves the positivity of the solution, which is one of the essential requirements when modeling epidemic diseases. Robust numerical results confirming theoretical investigations are provided. Comparisons are also made with the other conventional approaches that are routinely used for such problems.

W artykule przedstawiono zastosowanie rachunku różniczkowego niecałkowitych rzędów (ang. fractional calculus) do opisu dynamiki zjawisk układów pneumatycznych. W budowie modeli matematycznych, analizowanych układów dynamicznych, wykorzystano definicję Riemanna-Liouville’a pochodno-całki niecałkowitego rzędu. Dla analizowanego modelu, wyznaczono transmitancję operatorową całkowitego i niecałkowitego rzędu. Wyznaczono zależności opisujące charakterystyki czasowe i częstotliwościowe, na drodze symulacji komputerowej uzyskano charakterystyki analizowanych układów. Do badań symulacyjnych wykorzystano oprogramowanie Microsoft Office Excel oraz MATLAB.
Rapid development of technology which occurred at the turn of the 19th and 20th century has enforced development of new models describing reality, especially the technical objects working in extreme conditions or characterized by extreme parameters (a super-capacitor, a transmission line of infinite length, etc.). To describe such objects the classical calculus is insufficient. To make mathematical models which describe dynamics of the phenomena occurring in objects of extreme parameters, it is indispensable to use the differential and integral calculus of non-integer order (fractional calculus). This statement was an inspiration for carrying out research into the use of fractional calculus for describing technical objects working in extreme conditions or characterized by extreme parameters. This paper presents a method of describing a pneumatic system working in extreme conditions by means of fractional calculus and with the use of the Reimann-Liouville definition of non-integer ordered derivatives. This research leads to putting forward the following research hypothesis: The fractional calculus-based method of describing dynamic properties of pneumatic systems enables analysis of properties of a wide spectrum of pneumatic systems of integer and non-integer order. The paper (Part 1) describes fractional calculus. The Riemann–Liouville fractional derivatives is defined. A transfer function and spectral transmittance of non-integer order are described. The Part 2 of these papers, deals with laboratory tests of a pneumatic transducer. Measurements have been taken and a real pneumatic system is analyzed and compared with a mathematical model. The analysis uses fractional calculus and is carried out with respect to time and frequency.

Opis:
The goal of this paper was to determine necessary dynamical conditions for the object tracking task. Developing these conditions required examining dynamical relationships between the UAV, camera head, disturbances and tracked object. This analysis was conducted in order to assess whether a given UAV-camera head set was suitable for a given object tracking task. The study assumed that the UAV was equipped with a flight trajectory control system. We discussed the methods of the dynamical properties description and finding a range of application for a particular set “UAV-camera head”. For each dynamical element of the examined system, we proposed a method of computing the parameters of the simulation model which corresponded to the behaviour of the real elements. In order to describe the range of the applications for the UAV-camera head set, we defined the space Ω – all combinations of the parameters which characterized the dynamics of the disturbance and object. Moreover, this study developed the method of selecting the subspace Ωs which described acceptable parameters of the object’s and disturbance’s dynamics. This paper presented the example of proper object tracking in the case of meeting the dynamical conditions and the example of losing the object in the opposite case.

Opis:
Interval arithmetic techniques such as VALENCIA-IVP allow calculating guaranteed enclosures of all reachable states of continuous-time dynamical systems with bounded uncertainties of both initial conditions and system parameters. Considering the fact that, in naive implementations of interval algorithms, overestimation might lead to unnecessarily conservative results, suitable consistency tests are essential to obtain the tightest possible enclosures. In this contribution, a general framework for the use of constraints based on physically motivated conservation properties is presented. The use of these constraints in verified simulations of dynamical systems provides a computationally efficient procedure which restricts the state enclosures to regions that are physically eaningful. A branch and prune algorithm is modified to a consistency test, which is based on these constraints. Two application scenarios are studied in detail. First, the total energy is employed as a conservation property for the analysis of mechanical systems. It is shown that conservation properties, such as the energy, are applicable to any Hamiltonian system. The second scenario is based on constraints that are derived from decoupling properties, which are considered for a high-dimensional compartment model of granulopoiesis in human blood cell dynamics.

During such a study of ferroresonance phenomenon, the time dependent nonlinear differential equations are derived from R – Ψ(i) – C ferroresonant circuit. The system of nonlinear equations is numerically solved using various algorithm applications. In applied mathematics, in particular the context of the nonlinear dynamical systems analysis, phase – plane/space graphs are a visual display of certain characteristics of kinds of differential equations.
