W artykule przedstawiono i przeanalizowano genezę, kontekst wykonawczy i repertuar muzyczny szopki z lalkami. Analizowany materiał foniczny, zdeponowany w Archiwum Muzycznego Folkloru Religijnego KUL (AMFR), zarejestrowano w 1974 r. w Padwi Narodowej (Rzeszowskie), badania w formie wywiadu terenowego powtórzono w 2022 r. W analizach muzycznych uwzględniono 27 utworów, dla których wykonano transkrypcje muzyczne. Szczegółowy opis i interpretacja szopki z lalkami może być kluczem do zrozumienia lokalnych społeczności. W widowisku odzwierciedlono ludowy świat wartości, zakazy i nakazy, stosunek do mniejszości religijnych i etnicznych, problematykę stanową, postrzeganie określonych zawodów itd. Ukazuje ona obraz świata małych wspólnot, wprowadzony na symboliczny poziom sztuki aktorskiej i muzycznej.
This article presents and analyses the genesis, performance context and musical repertoire of The Nativity Scene with Dolls. The phonic material analysed, deposited in The Archive of Music Religious Folklore (AMFR) at the Institute of Musicology of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), was registered in 1974 in Padew Narodowa (Rzeszow Region), and research in the form of a field interview was repeated in 2022. The musical analyses include 27 pieces for which musical transcriptions were made. A detailed description and interpretation of The Nativity Scene with Dolls may be key to understanding local communities. The show reflects the folk world of values, prohibitions and orders, of attitudes to religious and ethnic minorities, to issues of the state, the perception of certain professions, etc. It also shows the image of the world of small communities, elevated to the symbolic level of acting and music.

Along with changes in the role of sport in a society, its functions strengthen, weaken or disappear. A renewal of the ancient idea of competition in sport in the realities of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries revealed the incompatibility of its objectives and generated the need to develop the new ones. The improvement of economic conditions of life and implementation of the need for innovation in sport changed sport competitions into spectacles of high public interest. Sport shows made it possible to separate the functions in the division into categories of participation. Other divisions of functions highlight the richness of the subject of interdisciplinary research on sport.
Wraz z przemianami roli sportu w życiu społecznym funkcje ulegają wzmocnieniu, osłabieniu, bądź zanikowi. Wznowienie starożytnej idei rywalizacji sportowej, w realiach XIX i XX wieku ujawniło nieprzystawalność jej celów i generując potrzebę stworzenia nowych. Poprawa warunków ekonomicznych życia ludności oraz realizacja potrzeby innowacyjności w sporcie, stworzyły z zawodów sportowych widowiska o dużym znaczeniu społecznym. Widowiska sportowe pozwoliły wydzielić funkcje w podziale na kategorie uczestnictwa. Inne podziały funkcji uwypuklają bogactwo przedmiotu interdyscyplinarnych badań naukowych nad sportem

In his voluminous memoirs compiled in the early 17th century the Dominican Martin Gruneweg describes a pageant named the Parade of the Planets that took place in Warsaw on 15 February 1580. Central to its stage design was the iconography of the seven planets, each of them represented by its Zodiac sign and its affiliated House. However, no less important for the spectacle was the appearance of numerous characters and stage props from the carnival tradition, e.g. richly dressed men from the Orient, Bacchus, a procession of floats. The Parade of the Planets was a festivity which brought together the court and the townsfolk; it was probably organized by both court and town. More generally, it could be described as an urban carnival parade mimicking some features of the Renaissance Trionfo. The knowledge of celestial phenomena presented in this spectacle was probably adjusted to the needs of a wide audience of the ‘middling sort of people’, whose belief in the geocentric model of the cosmos was still intact. It seems that the Parade of the Planets contained hardly any profound insights or hermetic clues. Gruneweg, though, does find it susceptible to an allegorical interpretation which reveals the spectacle's embedding in Christian spirituality and middle-class virtues. He is pleased with the colourful spectacle, but warns of taking too much pleasure in this kind of entertainment.

For the past few years, on Sundays during the Easter period, groupsof Catholics fill city squares (parks, shopping centres and the like) andcelebrate the liturgy giving a testimony to Christian life. Very often theseplaces are crossroads of trade, leisure, entertainment and commute trails,hence the celebrations raise actual bewilderment in busy passers-by. Suddenly,by imposing sacral references on the spaces of the profanum, theybecome symbolic places, the embodiment of a living Church on the move.The article attempts to read these specific meetings in the context of culturalphenomena: a theatre play, a live performance act, flash mobs, andothers. The article also contemplates the construction of meaning of suchspace interpreted anew through the prism of these forms of evangelisation.

This paper attempts to characterise the heroine of the Euripides’ play through her murderous plan and scenic presence. Medea organizes every stage action and spreads out the emotional control of secondary characters and scenic events with her strong and almost manly personality. The meaningful feature to observe is that she does not leave the scene since her first entrance till the exit in order to kill the children, so she can be in the centre and be the centre of the scenic situation in the major part of the spectacle. In the first part of the paper we observe, with a special attention paid to what elements of her personality help her to reach what she wants, how Medea creates her revenge plan in details and in the full view of the spectators. Step by step she builds up its points: she wins one day longer in Corinth, gets from Aigeus an asylum in Athens (this episode is the subject matter of the second part of the paper), persuades Jason to let the children give her gifts to the princess. The final point is to kill her sons. The last passage focuses on the effect of Medea’s two entrances, both significant from a theatrical and a dramatic point of view. The first entrance brings her continuous presence and her control of the whole action to the stage. The other one, at the end of the play—followed by the spectacular escape in the Helios’ chariot, with her godlike appearance when she establishes the institution of the worship and prophesies the future events—shows that her control influences not only what is present but also what is future. All that depicts Medea as a central character in the play, focusing the emotional tension and the scenic effect on herself, manipulating to a large extent stage events and directing their development into the final realization of her intentions.

In the beginning of interwar period there were rather few sporting facilities in Warsaw. Due to political and military reasons, the Russian administration of Warsaw was not interested in development of such an infrastructure. After regaining independence, a lot of necessary investments in sporting facilities were held and the most important infrastructure (among others representative stadium of Polish Army and Central Institute of Physical Education) was estabished. Warsaw quickly managed to bridge the gap between other bigger cities of II Republic of Poland (Lwow, Cracow, Poznan etc.). However, Warsaw sporting and municipal authorities did not manage to create some necessary facilities. One of them was sport and entertainment hall. There were few concepts of building such a hall in interwar Polish capital. Unfortunately, none of them were realised, especially because of high costs and long duration of such an investment. The aim of this article is to recapitulate the concepts and ideas of establishment of Warsaw’s sporting hall as well as to try to answer the question why there was not even close to realise them.
