Opis:
The synthesis and application of layered calcium-aluminum double hydroxides (Ca-Al LDHs) for the encapsulation of organic anions is discussed. The mechanism of the encapsulation process was explained. These types of compounds have great potential and can be used in targeted therapies, including in drug dosing systems.
Omówiono syntezę i zastosowanie warstwowych podwójnych wodorotlenków wapniowoglinowych (Ca-Al LDHs) do kapsułkowania anionów organicznych. Wyjaśniono mechanizm procesu kapsułkowania. Tego typu związki mają bardzo duży potencjał i mogą znaleźć zastosowanie w terapiach celowych m.in. w systemach kontrolowanego dozowania leków.

Opis:
Opracowanie dotyczy problemu określenia właściwości miejscowej sądu w sprawie o przestępstwo stanowiące czyn ciągły. Autor kontestuje stanowisko SA w Krakowie, że miejscem popełnienia całego czynu jest miejsce, gdzie podjęte zostało ostatnie zachowanie wchodzące w jego skład. Autor zwraca uwagę, że dla określenia miejsca popełnienia czynu nie mają znaczenia czynniki istotne dla określenia czasu jego popełnienia. Jednocześnie stwierdza, że czyn ciągły jest popełniony we wszystkich miejscach, w których podjęto którekolwiek z zachowań wchodzących w jego skład. Dlatego właściwość miejscowa winna być ustalona w oparciu o regułę określoną w art. 31 § 1 k.p.k.
The study concerns the problem of determining the local jurisdiction of a court in a case of a crime constituting a continuous act. The author contests the position of the Court of Appeal in Kraków, that the place of committing the whole act is the place where the last behaviour constituting it was undertaken. The author draws attention to the fact that in order to determine the place, where the act was committed, factors significant for determining the time of its commission are irrelevant. He states that a continuous act is committed in all places, where any of the behaviour constituting it was undertaken. Therefore, the local jurisdiction should be based on the rule set forth in Article 31 § 1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Opis:
The cycle of fourteen carols and pastorals by Stanisław Hadyna is one of the author’s lesser known works. It was created as a result of cooperation between the composer and two great artists - Kazimierz Szemioth and Władysław Ochman. Analysis of the pieces has been conducted with use of specialized literature on musicology, folklore and literary studies supported by practice as a singer and choir director. The goal was to study author’s possible inspirations, to underline the relationship between music and lyrics, to present selected vocal difficulties and to look at the cycle as a whole. Research has been performed with the use of the monographic method. Practical activities consisted of analyzing the score, source text, publications and recordings. Following sources were used: Narodziła nam się dobroć [Goodness was born] by Stanisław Hadyna (lyrics - Kazi mierz Szemioth, Officina Silesia, 2009) and recordings of Wiesław Ochman and Capella Arcis Varsoviensis (dir. Marek Sewen, 1985). As a result, it has been proven that analyzed pieces have their origin in traditional Polish songs. Conclusions from the analysis demonstrate importance of lyrics which form a part equally important to music. In summary, awareness of means of expression used by composer is key to performance of the work.
Cykl czternastu kolęd i pastorałek Stanisława Hadyny nie należy do najbardziej znanych dzieł twórcy. Nie jest też powszechnie wiadome, że to dzieło powstało w wyniku współpracy kompozytora z dwojgiem przyjaciół, wspaniałych artystów - Kazimierza Szemiotha (poety) i Wiesława Ochmana (śpiewaka). Analiza utworów została dokonana w oparciu o specjalistyczną literaturę z zakresu muzykologii, folklorystyki i literaturoznawstwa oraz własną praktykę wokalną i dyrygencką. Celem było zbadanie możliwych inspiracji, wskazanie związku muzyki ze słowem, przedstawienie wybranych trudności wokalnych oraz całościowe spojrzenie na cykl. W badaniach posłużono się metodą monografii. Jako czynności praktyczne została zastosowana analiza materiału nutowego, tekstów źródłowych, publikacji, nagrań. Głównymi narzędziami były: wydany przez Officina Silesia w 2009 roku cykl czternastu kolęd i pastorałek Narodziła nam się dobroć Stanisława Hadyny do słów Kazimierza Szemiotha oraz płyta z 1985 roku w wykonaniu Wiesława Ochmana i Capelli Arcis Varsoviensis pod dyrekcją Marka Sewena. Dzięki analizie udowodniono, iż omawiane utwory pochodzą z głęboko zakorzenionych w kulturze polskiej tradycji i pieśni świątecznych, a ich forma świadczy o czerpaniu zarówno z dawnych, jak i współczesnych nurtów muzyki. Badania dowiodły także znaczenia tekstów, które to warunkują charakter poszczególnych części. Artykuł dowodzi, iż świadomość zastosowanych muzycznych środków wyrazów jest kluczem do poprawnego i pełnego wykonawstwa artystycznego dzieła.

Agn action extermnating Jews in the General Government was carried out by the Third Reich under the code name "Einsatz Reinhardt". At the same time, large-scale confoscation and plunder of properties  belonging to Jews was taking place. It consisted of four sections: displacement, exploiting labour force, usiing the properties, taking  over hidden values and real eststes. After the Wehrmacht troops entered Kielce on 5th September 1939, state-owned properties were immadiately taken over. In the same fashion Germans took over private proprieties of people who fled the town due to military actions. The properties were managed by Treuhandanstalt that was created by the occupant on 1st November 1939. Intensification of plunders of Jewsh properties can be observed during the creation of a ghetto in Kielce (March 1941) as well as its liquidation (August 1942) when not only real estates but also personal property ere plundered.

In the herein article over thirty lexical units are maintained and analysed depicting the place where the alcohol was sold or the person selling that ‛thing’. The written material was gathered from all available lexicographical sources registering the old vocabulary - to the end of the 18th century. Stemming from the etymology, the authoress investigated the meanings of particular word-forms, which she put into the table-chart at the end. The diagram illustrates quantity and quality changes which happened in analyzed lexical field. It was documented and stated that the character of these changes was influenced by the ongoing linguistic theory and vogue. The longest in practice are the oldest names in unchanged state which are reaching with its own roots the pre-Slavic culture.

The aim of this paper is to comment the links between the work of Louis-Sébastien Mercier, The Year 2440: A Dream If Ever The Was One, and narrative utopia model. The Mercier’s work is often considered as inventive fiction which presents a new type of utopia focused on the future, but a large number of traditional narrative strategies is used by the author to show Paris in 25th century. The future civilization is built on the Enlightenment ideas but it remains still attached by its culture to the 18th century. The Mercier’s work is inspired by the utopism but in this fiction the reader finds more a fictional realization of dreams and philosophical thinking about human nature.

The phenomenon of Padre Pio’s active participation in the suffering of Christ shows us its two complementary levels. Even though the exceptional Grace appears in his soul and body in a visible way, it remains for him an inscrutable mystery. In this paper the author focused on the Padre Pio’s sufferings from Christological perspective. Suffering is valuable only if it is offered up in union with the Passion of Jesus. His Redemptive Suffering bestows a new meaning and value on human suffering. P. Pio didn’t comprehend his suffering as a rejection by God but as an invitation to the participation in the Redemptive Mystery accomplished by Passion of Jesus Christ. The author tried to show the P. Pio’s vocation to participation in the Suffering of Jesus and how he fulfilled it by willingly offering himself up and taking upon himself the burden of his cross.
Analizując fenomen cierpienia ojca Pio jako jego aktywnego uczestnictwa w cierpieniach Chrystusa, odkrywamy jego komplementarną dwubiegunowość: z jednej strony mamy do czynienia z rodzajem szczególnej łaski, która manifestuje się poprzez zjawiska fizyczne i duchowe na ciele i duszy zakonnika, a z drugiej strony pozostaje dla niego samego niepojętą tajemnicą. Autor w swym artykule rozważa zagadnienie cierpienia ojca Pio z perspektywy chrystologicznej, to znaczy takiej, która w cierpieniu widzi rzeczywistą wartość o zbawczym znaczeniu, pod warunkiem że ma ona swe odniesienie do Chrystusa, który nadał cierpieniu taki właśni sens i walor. Cierpienie nie jest tu przejawem odrzucenia przez Boga, ale zaproszeniem do uczestnictwa w wielkim misterium odkupienia dokonanym przez Chrystusa. Autor prezentuje dwa poziomy współuczestnictwa ojca Pio w cierpieniach Chrystusa: pierwszy nakreśla ramy jego powołania do tej misji, a drugi ukazuje jej realizację jako programu życiowego, który wypełnia się poprzez dobrowolną ofiarę z samego siebie i przyjęcie krzyża.

Opis:
Ze względu na wzrastającą ilość osadów ściekowych wymagających zagospodarowania nieustannie poszukuje się nowych metod pozwalających na ich lepsze kondycjonowanie. Do takich metod należy zaliczyć różnego rodzaju sposoby dezintegracji osadów. W podjętych badaniach starano się określić wpływ chemicznej dezintegracji przy pomocy termicznie aktywowanego nadsiarczanu sodu (PDS) i mononadsiarczanu potasu (MPS) na wybrane własności sedymentacyjne i fizykochemiczne osadu ściekowego. W badaniach użyto dawek reagentów PDS i MPS: 0,2; 0,4; 0,6; 0,8 i 1% objętościowych, które aktywowano termicznie w temperaturze 60 i 80ºC przez 30 minut. Wpływ analizowanych substancji na osad czynny starano się wykazać na podstawie zmian wybranych parametrów, takich jak: mętność, uwolniona/rozpuszczona materia organiczna (wyrażone jako rChZT), indeks objętościowy osadu (I.O.O.) i indeks gęstości osadu (I.G.O.). Pod wpływem działania PDS i MPS mętność cieczy nadosadowej zmalała odpowiednio o 90 i 85%. Wraz ze wzrostem dawki reagentów zaobserwowano wzrost wartości rChZT, będącego wskaźnikiem uwolnionej w trakcie dezintegracji materii organicznej. Wartość rChZT w cieczy nadosadowej przy zastosowaniu PDS i MPS wzrosła odpowiednio o 41 i 77%. Zaobserwowano również zmniejszenie indeksu objętościowego osadu (I.O.O.) przy zastosowaniu temperatury aktywowania substancji dezintegrujących równej 80ºC oraz dawce tych substancji równej 1%. W przypadku MPS wartość indeksu objętościowego zmniejszyła się z 37,80 do 16,29 cm3/g po 30 minutach sedymentacji. Natomiast dla PDS nastąpił spadek wartości z 39,49 do 24,66 cm3/g w tym samym czasie.
Due to the increasing amount of sewage sludge requiring management new methods which allow improving sludge conditioning are being sought incessantly. Such methods include different types of sludge disintegration processes. In the present study an attempt was made to determine the influence of thermally activated persulfate (PDS) and monopersulfate (MPS) on the sedimentation and physico-chemical properties of the waste activated sludge (WAS). In this study 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1% doses of PDS and MPS were used, and they were activated at the temperature of 60 and 80ºC for 30 minutes. The impact of the analyzed substances on WAS was investigated on basis of changes of the selected parameters such as: turbidity, soluble chemical oxygen demand (rCOD), sludge volume index (SVI). Addition of PDS and MPS to the WAS caused decrease of turbidity of supernatant by 90 and 85%, respectively. When the doses of the reactants increased there was also an increase in the SCOD value, being an indicator of the organic matter released during the disintegration. The SCOD value in the supernatant increased with using PDS and MPS by 41 and 77%, respectively. There was also observed decrease of sludge volume index (SVI) after addition of temperature activated (80ºC) PDS and MPS. For highest dose of MPS, SVI decrease from 37.80 to 16.29 cm3/g after 30 min sedimentation. In contrast, for the PDS there was a decrease from 39.49 to 24.66 cm3/g at the same time.

This text is a critical review from the Biblicist’s perspective of the document “In the beginning there was the Word” The Bible in the Life of the Lutheran Communion by the Lutheran Communion. We should be glad that the Lutheran Communion issued such a compendium of Lutheran hermeneutics and interpretation of the Bible. Probably for some it is too general, too “politically correct” or too inclusive. A Biblicist observes some methodological deficits, although he may be satisfied with the repeated postulate of constant Bible translation and taking into account liturgical, philological, exegetic and ministerial objectives in the translation. The document also proposes a widely understood Biblical education.

Anhand einer Reihe von autobiographischen „Selfies“ wird ein Leben als eine Folge von aufgeschnappten Meinungen konfrontiert. Vor allem mit dem, was Gerd Antos in und mit der Linguistik im Laufe sejner Karriere dazugelernt hat. Linguistik sozusagen als ein lebenslanges learning by doing.
Through a series of autobiographical snapshots the author confronts his life as a sequence of picked‑up views. The emphasis will be on the new things Gerd Antos learned with and within linguistics over the course of his career. Linguistics as a life‑long ‘learning by doing’ as it were.

Jerzy Turowicz’s “Tygodnik Powszechny” and literature. The almost perfect mediumThe subject of the discussion is Jerzy Turowicz’s attitude to the issues of literature (based on queries in the decades when he was the editor-in-chief of “TP”, i.e. in the 1945-1995 half-century). The special position occupied by the journal from Krakow on the map of the communist-era Polish press is stressed. Since its establishment, this journal enjoyed wide and long-time support from the professor communityof the Jagiellonian University, as well as other academies of Krakow. Assorted accounts from poets and prose authors, including Marek Skwarnicki, Jan Józef Szczepański, Jan Twardowski and others, were discussed. Attention was paid to Turowicz’s outstanding merits in discovering and advocating of literary talents (with an example of Father Jan Twardowski and Maria Jarczyńska-Bukowska). Turowicz seldom wrote on poets and poetry, but he continuously monitoredboth domestic and emigrationliterature on this subject. He also had an extraordinary aesthetic sense which allowed him to selecttalented poets as his collaborators, and published authors whose fame wentmuch further than the borders of Poland (cases of Father Karol Wojtyła, Czesław Miłosz, Stanisław Lem and others). Only under Turowicz, Polish literature had such a wide and competent coverage in “TP”. Thanks to this, readers could acquaint themselves with the foremost pens of literary criticism and were becomingthoroughly oriented in the Polish and world’s literature. It seems that since Turowicz’s passing, “Tygodnik Powszechny” has not played such a role in this regard anymore.

The study is devoted to the most important problems of the Polish prison system and most often met innovations taken to the purpose of these minimizations of problems. Among the most important problems an overpopulation of penitentiaries was being analyzed, the phenomenon of unemployment of prisoners and disrupting the influence of the leisure time of inmates. Next among others action associated with increasing the residential space was being ranked among most often taken initiatives improving the contemporary penitentiary system (including the use of supervision electronic), with the extension of places of employment and the rise in the remuneration for the work, of implementing methods of the creative social rehabilitation.On account of the fact that these initiatives have more and more universal character from here one should nurse a hope, that contributing to reduce existing penitentiary problems will cause increasing the effectiveness of rehabilitation influences.
Opracowanie poświęcone jest najważniejszym problemom polskiego więziennictwa oraz najczęściej spotykanym innowacjom podejmowanym w celu minimalizacji tych problemów. Wśród najważniejszych problemów zanalizowano przeludnienie zakładów karnych, zjawisko bezrobocia skazanych oraz dezorganizujący wpływ czasu wolnego osadzonych. Z kolei do najczęściej podejmowanych inicjatyw doskonalących współczesny system penitencjarny zaliczono m.in. działania związane ze zwiększeniem powierzchni mieszkalnej (w tym również wykorzystania dozoru elektronicznego) i liczby miejsc pracy, wzrostem wynagrodzenia za pracę, wprowadzaniem metod twórczej resocjalizacji. Ze względu na to, że powyższe inicjatywy mają coraz bardziej powszechny charakter, należy żywić nadzieję, iż przyczyniając się do zmniejszenia istniejących problemów penitencjarnych, spowodują zwiększenie skuteczności oddziaływań resocjalizacyjnych.
