    This study addresses the gaps in knowledge regarding the unique energetics of the reading voice in its role as a medium for the development of stalwart future readers. We take into consideration Maryanne Wolf’s reminder about the special need to „foste readers due to the fact that reading is „unnatural“. The purpose of this study is to identify the position of reading aloud as a basic media practice in parenting strategies dedicated to cultivating future readers in order to prove that the energetics of the human voice can serve as a communication medium. This study is committed to finding a solution to a specific scientific problem: could the media modality of the environment involving reading aloud from birth be the crucial factor for developing unfailing future readers? The multidisciplinary reading research analyzes the results of a quantitative sociological 32-item survey which assesses the level of awareness and perceptions towards parent-child reading of 71 families in Bulgaria. The analysis focused on parental attitudes towards pre-reading skills before the child learned to read in the conventional sense. From a new perspective, the study looks at the role of the human voice as a medium of unique energetics for family communication. The study demonstrates that the reading voice adds unique energetics to the parent-baby environment by elevating it with non-verbal rhetoric as well as maintaining it in mode of attention and affectionate sound register. These findings can inform decision-making to improve family media literacy on the protection of children’s key right to a highly energetic cognitive environment that nurtures avid readers.

    Jaume Roig’s Espill constitutes one of the masterpieces in the history of Catalan literature. On the pages of the present article the attention will be put on one of its main thematic subjects, that is marriage, treated on the basis of a large perspective, whose goal will be to integrate the results of interdisciplinary analyses from the fields of anthropology, theology or cultural studies, in order to project an all-embracing view that will allow to configure the Spill’s signifiers polyhedron, which relies on its precious and singular textual ambiguity. In this frame and around the marriage’s core, the textual presence of sexuality marks, family relations and amor hereos will be analyzed in detail, for finally presenting a reading proposal of the main character’s matrimonial episodes from an exegetical sight.

    The text is an attempt at a brief portrayal—in the sphere of the Polish studies into late modernism—of the issues which are worth research-ing or the problems which should be signalled. The article starts with a recognition of a poor presence of the category of modernism in think-ing about the literature of the 20th and 21st centuries and submits se-veral proposals. At the beginning, a proposal of confronting a modernist paradigm with a paradigm of Romantic revision. This proposal was pre-sented with an awareness of the fuzziness of the notion of modernism as well as the notion of Romantic revision in Polish academic environment. The following research postulates that would be formulated are: deeper reflection on the language (in connection with tradition, heritage and their problematization) and on the practices of reading. Later, the text poses a question about the way of studying the permeation of discourses in the writing of specific representatives of modernism and demands greater recognition for the Central European perspective in research.

    The article points to the advantages of utilizing books chosen and read by students during lessons of Polish. As illustrative example here serves Tajemnicza śmierć Marianny Biel written by Marta Matyszczak, a contemporary detective novel, published in 2017, partially narrated from the perspective small invalid mongrel. The novel’s structure is conducive to discussion of detective stories in didactic work, showing the “Silesian” features of the novel’s characters, and analyzing their seemingly superficial characters. On the basis of the novel, the subject of animal studies may be raised: the animality of the relationship between humans and animals. The article draws attention to the importance of the animal issues in humanities, going beyond the understanding thereof as “the animality of human nature.” It emphasizes the essence of giving voice to the animals and empowering them, without trying to “humanize” them.

    The article presents a set of data on the results of archaeological work carried out in Lower Oder Region in 2011-2017, as part of an informal project of micro-regional studies focusing on the Lower Oder Region. These studies were based on commissioned supervisions and also resulted from my personal interests The activities of a supervisory nature resulting from the knowledge about tampering with archaeological monuments were also brought to notice. The text lists most of the archaeological works carried out, and selected finds are discussed in detail.

Opisywany materiał badawczy dotyczy doświadczeń uczniów i nauczycieli w poznawaniu historii przodków walczących o odzyskanie niepodległości na terenie Wielkopolski, ożywiania archiwum dzieł malarskich, autorefleksji młodych na temat kulturowego DNA, kreatywnego pisania do rządzących oraz profilowego czytania Lalki. Autorka zwraca uwagę na niesłuszną i nagminną krytykę szkoły, prezentuje przy tym edukację opartą na myślowej samodzielności, indywidualnej wizji świata, edukację, która podejmuje prawdziwy dialog z tekstami i może budzić zachwyt.
    In the book which is the subject of this review, Docenić szkołę. Dydaktyczna teoria i metodyczna praktyka [To appreciate the school: Didactic theory and methodological practice] Maria Kwiatkowska-Ratajczak documents plans of lessons carried out in one of Poznań’s secondary schools. This research material concerns the experience of students and teachers in studying the history of the ancestors fighting for the regaining of the independence of Wielkopolska, reviving the archive of paintings, of young people’s self-reflection on their cultural DNA, creative writing to the authorities, and profiled reading of The Doll. The author draws attention to the unjust and common criticism of the school and at the same time describes a model of education which promotes mental independence and an personal vision of the world, of education which engages students in a real dialogue with texts and which can arouse admiration.

    Niniejszy artykuł jest opisem podejmowanych prób odpowiedzi na wyzwania współczesności w związku z niekorzystnymi dla środowiska ziemskiego zmianami klimatycznymi i koniecznością kształtowania postaw odpowiedzialności za jakość wspólnego dobra. Przedstawiono możliwości wprowadzania różnorodnych treści proekologicznych do programu kształcenia przyszłych polonistów. Zwrócono uwagę na podstawy teoretyczne ekokrytyki, wskazujące możliwe kierunki interpretacji wybranych tekstów literackich oraz przybliżono projekty społeczne, których celem jest działalność na rzecz zmiany dotychczasowego stylu życia ludzi.
    This article describes some attempts at answering the challenges of the present in connection with the commonly perceived climate changes, unfavourable for the Earth’s environment, and the need to shape attitudes of responsibility for the quality of the common good. The author presents the possibilities of introducing various pro-ecological content in the academic programme of prospective Polish language teachers. First, she briefly discusses the theoretical bases of ecocriticism, then indicate some possible interpretations of selected literary texts during high-school classes, and present social projects aimed at promoting a change hitherto people’s lifestyles.

    Artykuł przedstawia analizę zestawu recenzji i szkiców krytycznych, które ukazały się w polskiej prasie po wydaniu powieści Jonathana Littella Łaskawe. Korzystając z narzędzi oferowanych przez tak zwane memory studies oraz koncepcji postpamięci autorstwa Marianne Hirsch, autorka bada powody różnego typu przemilczeń i swoistej autocenzury, którymi charakteryzują się owe teksty. Powieść Littella w tym ujęciu okazuje się prowokacją, na którą bardzo różnie odpowiadają krytycy różnych pokoleń. Również od przynależności do pokolenia zależy – jak pokazują analizowane teksty – sposób ujmowania i rozumienia Zagłady jako wydarzenia historycznego i otwartego problemu poznawczego. Druga część szkicu wykazuje, że Jonathan Littell konstruuje swoją powieść, biorąc za podstawę mechanizmy społecznej i kulturowej pamięci, których struktura nie jest wolna od schematów, klisz, słów-kluczy. Powieść okazuje się wymierzona specjalnie w nowoczesne i ponowoczesne metodologie czytania, który to fakt nie został właściwie zauważony ani zinterpretowany przez krytyków (którzy sami jednak z owych metodologii korzystali).
    The paper presents the analysis of a set of reviews and critical essays, which have been published in the Polish press after the publication of Jonathan Littel’s novel The Kindly Ones. Using the tools offered by the so-called “memory studies” and the Marianne Hirsch’s concept of post-memory, the author examines the reasons of various suppressions and peculiar self-censorship, which characterise those texts. The Littell’s novel in this depiction turns out to be a provocation, to which critics of different generations respond very differently. What is also a result of their belonging to a certain generation is the way in which they display the analyzed texts and the way of grasping and understanding the holocaust as a historical event and an open cognitive problem. The second part of the essay proves that Jonathan Littell constructs his novel basing on the mechanisms of social and cultural memory, which’s structure is not free of schemes, clichés and key-words. The novel turns out to be purposely aimed at the modern and postmodern methodologies of reading, which is a fact that has not been properly noticed and interpreted by the critics (who, however, have themselves used those methodologies).

    This review article entitled „Wobec wyzwań nowej edukacji humanistycznej” („Facing the challenges of new humanistic education”) takes up various issues of contemporary Polish language didactics, appearing in publications by Maria Kwiatkowska-Ratajczak and Michał Ratajczak. The article focuses on the authors’ long-term reflections on school Polish language education, both in the perspective of contemporary humanistic education and historical sources as well as widely understood literary tradition and social and cultural contexts. Both publications deserve to be appreciated due to the Authors’research conducted in the field of Polish language teaching – both in the context of didactic theory and teaching practices.

    W artykule przedstawiono problematykę logopedycznego postępowania diagnostycznego przeprowadzonego w przypadku pacjentki z mózgowym porażeniem dziecięcym w okresie późnego dzieciństwa i wczesnej dorosłości. Dokonano oceny poziomu opanowania języka (w jego wersji mówionej i pisanej) oraz komunikacji niewerbalnej. Wskazano rodzaje deficytów w porozumiewaniu się i ich uwarunkowania, co stanowiło podstawę rozpoznania logopedycznego. Autorki, odwołując się do wyników badań własnych, wskazały potrzebę podejmowania badań longitudinalnych w logopedii w przypadku osób z zaburzeniami sprzężonymi oraz potrzebę podjęcia prac nad skonstruowaniem i znormalizowaniem narzędzi diagnostycznych, za których pomocą można byłoby prowadzić badania podłużne z udziałem grup pacjentów.
    The article presents the issue of logopaedic diagnostic treatment which was conducted on the patient with cerebral palsy in her late childhood and early adulthood. The authors carried out the evaluation of the language acquisition level (both oral and written) and the assessment of nonverbal communication. Types of deficits in communication and their determinants were identified, which constituted the basis of logopaedic diagnosis. Referring to the results of their own studies, the authors indicated the need of conducting longitudinal studies in logopaedics in case of patients with coupled disorders as well as creating and standardizing techniques and diagnostic tools that could be applied to carry out longitudinal studies on the groups of patients.
