Performative alter ego The dynamic development of the Internet and the constant search for new ways of reaching the user bring about the availability of materials that were previously unattainable. Performance art, thanks to its special openness to new methods of expression, reaches the mass media, while showing the individual’s psyche and character of the author’s work. The set of gestures, their sequence and narration are the basis for creating performance art, understood not only as a clear alternative to conven- tional art, but also characterized by unpredictability, in which the viewer is not prepared for the way messages are received. Undoubtedly, social platforms create an illusion. “The influencer” can reach thousands of viewers and gain fame without leaving home. Without a doubt, social media have created a new entry point to the global art scene, opening way to a wide spectrum of diverse artistic activities. The method of re- cording, the non-cutaneous nature of the phenomenon makes it possible to own performative actions. The context of a performance is particularly important. It affects what can be universally recognized as art. The ques- tion arises (since we distinguish two values of the performative action: in the art gallery and on the street), what frames on the social media allow the audience to interpret it as art, and assuming that it is an art, does it change the perception of a given phenomenon?

Opis:
In comparison to other classical music players (such as Fiodor Szalapin’s Memories from my life), Arthur Rubinstein’s My early years seem to be a work of a thriller-like fabular layer and an elementary non-fiction value. In my sketch, instead of evaluating this pro-portion, I suggest making a more useful move — a rhetorical analysis of the auto-creatrional pose which is adopted by the memoir’s subject. By means of this I present the memoir I (which easily embodies roles such as a liar, joker, raconteur and sage), as well as point and decipher the mechanisms of popular prose, which the author activates. Thanks to this approach Rubinstein uncovers his unknown face — a conscious writer and amusement culture hothead. Uncovering its codes in My early years with the evolu-tionary biography construction of the main character basically means retelling the musi-cian’s diary — this time as well composed, popular literature. By means of this proce-dure the author’s mistakes and slips of memory become softened, for playing with the reader to persuade him to believe in the maker’s unfailing memory seems to be more important. A separate matter in this sketch is the reflection on the anecdotal-narcisistic layer of the memoir. To open it I use not the rhetorical key, but psychotherapeutic tools, revealing a considerable amount of autotherapy potential in Rubinstein’s memories. Thus, this sketch discloses and exposes the mystifying mechanisms in the work of the great pianist, leveling them with the consoling inclinations of popular biographies.

The aim of the article is an attempt to outline the theory of the conference (scientific), taking into account its actual course, including the reported content, as the ontic basis of its real structure. At the heart of this concept is a myth whose stories form the basis for the emergence of cultural spectacles. In the case of a conference conceived as a spectacle, the founding form (myth) is skholé. The conference itself is shaped in two overlapping areas: firstly, it is subject to the process of ritualization, and secondly, it is subject to the coexistence of universal praxis. In view of the subject of the conference mentioned and analyzed here, this theory takes into account aesthetic and pedagogical interactions (principles), ignoring others (ethics, economy, politics, religion). The conference theory should contribute to the understanding of its coherent thinking and operation structure; the importance of its impact on its participants, the legitimacy of its organization and study; the possibility of consciously shaping its course, in the cognitive - methodological context (I omit the otherwise important socio-cultural aspects).

The subject of this study is the ethos of the civil service in Poland. The authors analyze the issue at two levels of: historical and systematic. The main motive for the considerations is the 100th anniversary of the Polish civil service. We ask about the achievements, changes, and direction of further development of the civil service ethos. We propose to look at the development of the ethos starting from the model of a “professional role performer” to the model of the “communication ethos”. Further development of public administration will not change its fundamental direction, however, it should be noted that the importance of the state is emphasized as a guarantor of the stability of social processes, including the role and importance of the civil service.

Virtual or active acoustics refers to the generation of a simulated room response by means of elec- troacoustics and digital signal processing. An artificial room response may include sound reflections and reverberation as well as other acoustic features mimicking the actual room. They will cause the listener to have an impression of being immersed in virtual acoustics of another simulated room that coexists with the actual physical room. Using low-latency broadband multi-channel convolution and carefully measured room data, optimized transducers for rendering of sound fields, and an intuitive touch control user in- terface, it is possible to achieve a very high perceived quality of active acoustics, with a straightforward adjustability. The electroacoustically coupled room resulting from such optimization does not merely produce an equivalent of a back-door reverberation chamber, but rather a fully functional complete room superimposed on the physical room, yet with highly selectable and adjustable acoustic response. The utility of such active system for music recording and performance is discussed and supported with examples.

Opis:
I will discuss the main strategies used by the “invisible” actors to voice the identities of the characters in ancient Greek theatre, and in Wayang Kulit, Balinese shadow puppet theatre. Of course, these two traditions are very different. A Greek actor, covered by a costume and a mask, acted directly in front of the audience and moved his whole body while voicing the character. Balinese puppet master has to act from behind the screen and he moves only his hands. The Greek actor gave voice to one mask at a time; the Balinese puppeteer produces voices of each of the many characters in the play. But there is something the Greeks and the Balinese may have in common: in both performative traditions voice seems to be separated from the physical person. I will argue that it is this separation that enhances and problematizes the construction of gender as well as stimulates the audience to emotionally participate in the performance.
W artykule omawiam sposoby używania głosu do konstruowania tożsamości osoby dramatu przez „niewidzialnych” aktorów w antycznym teatrze greckim i balijskim teatrze lalki i cienia, Wayang Kulit.

Opis:
After painstakingly anatomizing in a previous book (s. DIP) the function verb phrase (FVP) in German and tracking down English combinations which display the morpho syntactical pattern, comply with the lexicosemantic criteria and assume the stylistic features, characteristic of “Funktionsverbgeflige” (FVGs), I resume in the present contribution my relentless quest for lexicomorphological conveyors of FVGs, this time in Romaniana Romance language - and then, in a second stage, try to go with a fine tooth-comb through the semantic and stylistic shifts following in the wake of FVPs as employed by the three languages at issue (German, English and Romanian). The opening section of the paper at hand searches in a first phase through the samples of Romanian FVPs extracted from various sources and assigns them to the aspect subcategories which they most fittingly illustrate: ingressive, punctual, iterative and egressive. In a second phase the analysis focuses on type a-§i ie$i din rábdári FVPs which convey a transition from one state to another and, consequently, admit of a double-barrelled interpretation, i.e. both egressive and ingressive - hence the labels ‘contradiction in terms’ and ‘transitive aspect’ I put forward as indicative of their idiosyncratic behaviour. The third and final phase of my survey is devoted to investigating stylistic synonymy as well as defending such intriguing FVPs as fa ll in love and fa ll out o f love. The approach in the middle section is roughly the same, i.e. descriptive in the beginning, with copious illustration of various semantic shifts (active / reflexive > passive, active > reflexive) as well as of the contrasts and similarities observed when comparing the three languages at issue, and interpretive in the second stage, with the focus on two most challenging cases: the ‘implicit’ passive with a subject acting semantically as a ‘minor performer’; the surprisingly divergent semantics of two at first blush similar FVPs {be thrown into ecstasies and go into ecstasies). The third section investigates the involuntary as well as premeditated decomposition of idiomatic meaning in FVPs, which more often than not is to be held accountable for comic effects. The technique at work here is the superimposition of nonidiomatic meaning on the idiomatic one, which in turn triggers off the reaction phase of the listener/reader confronted when least expected with the real intentions of the speaker/writer. The effects of the interference at issue range from ambiguity through a smack of ridicule - when decomposition is unintentional - to the most sophisticated linguistic humour - when decomposition is premeditated. Since the approach is also a contrastive one, the final conclusions would only naturally relate to the rendering into another language of linguicomedy samples. Unfortunately the translatability of interference-effects-generated linguistic humour has been found to be minimum at best in most cases.

Opis:
The article presents an analysis of selected elements of the Chorea Theatre Association play entitled Grotowski - An Attempt to Retreat. The discussion starts with the mutual relations between a series of ideas in contemporary theatrological discourse: the performance, the actor-performer and the actor-character. In the course of the argument, the categories ‘theatre of an attempt’ and ‘processual montage principle’ are introduced and used in the context of the issues involved in theatrical events and experiences. The first term refers to the contemporary theatrical practice of treating a theatre event as a sort of anthropological experiment, and the second refers to the compositional technique characteristic of this approach. The ‘theatre of an attempt’ formula, as a situation of confrontation in the tripartite structure of actor, viewer and stage-action reality, allows the anthropological dynamic of the theatre event, whose integral component is the mental activity of the spectator, to be captured. The ‘processual montage principle’ relates not only to the construction of the spectacle and the actor’s actions, but also to the attitudes and actions of the cognitive spectator, who, in participating in the theatrical process of becoming must himself attempt an imaginative reflection of this process. In conclusion, an interpretation of the play in the context of the ‘Everyman’ morality tradition is suggested.

Opis:
The article is based on the interaction of two genres, namely travel notes, including the author's impressions of a trip to the German cities of Halle, Bad-Lauchstedt and Bernburg, as well as reviews of modern productions of Baroque operas. Halle is famous as the birthplace of the outstanding composer Georg Friedrich Handel (1685-1759). The international Handel music festival is held here every year, which also includes an international scientific Symposium dedicated to the study of the great Saxon and his contemporaries. The concept of this year's Symposium, "Sensitive, heroic, sublime: Handel's women," was to study the female images embodied in his operas. The authors traveled to Halle as journalists to describe their impressions of both the trip and the contemporary productions of Handel's stage works. But in considering the history and cultural events of this city, we were able to go beyond ordinary observations into the sphere of scientific generalizations and come to the conclusion that the directors’ understanding of these operas through the integration of musical drama with related arts was unusually expanded. To study this phenomenon, we turned to the scientific tools developed in Russia by two Soviet researchers who have become seminal in their field. One of them was the psychologist Lev Vygotsky, who, exploring the spiritual world of the hero in fiction, revealed his psychological contradictions, expressed in the conflict of the narrative and the plot. The other, Sergei Eisenstein, who knew Vygotsky’s manuscript of his study "Psychology of Art" and, with some influence from these ideas, created his own "psychology of art", which is set out in the pages of his works of different years. The core of this concept was "the transition from the Expressive Movement to the image of a work of art... as a process of the interaction of layers of consciousness", which allowed for multiple entries into the artistic image. Such entries are also supported by some features of the cinematograph where the first among equals is the principle of intellectual editing, based on Eisenstein's montage theory. In Eisenstein's theory, other types of editing—linear, parallel, associative—have been generalized and developed into a large-scale system of the psychology of heroes in art. In this article, the identification of the essence of these processes made it possible for the authors to discern the phenomenon of increasing the meaning in the Halle directors' interpretations of Handel's operas, which arises from the merger of two seemingly irreconcilable and conflicting layers of consciousness: Baroque and eclectic modern, which developed at the turn of the last century.
