    Podstawą artykułu jest wystąpienie Kamila Karskiego i Tomasza Owoca, które zaprezentowano podczas konferencji "Historyczne ruiny - ochrona, użytkowanie, zarządzanie", w dniach 16-17 kwietnia 2018 r. w Łazienkach Królewskich w Warszawie. Prezentowany artykuł koncentruje się na przedstawieniu założeń scenariusza planowanego upamiętnienia KL Płaszow w ramach Muzeum - Miejsca Pamięci. Tekst przedstawia proces kształtowania ruin, zapominania o nich, ale także odkrywania i sposób wykorzystania materialnych śladów przeszłości do edukacji i budowania świadomości historycznego znaczenia terenu po niemieckim obozie koncentracyjnym.
    The basis for the presented article is a speech by Kamil Karski and Tomasz Owoc, which was presented during the conference „Historical Ruins - Protection, Use, Management”, between April 16-17, 2018 in Łazienki Królewskie in Warsaw. The presented article focuses on presenting the assumptions of the scenario of the planned commemoration of KL Plaszow as part of the designed Museum - Memorial Site. Text presents, the process of shaping the ruin, forgetting it, but also exploring and how the material traces of the past will be used to educate and build awareness of the historical importance of the area after the German concentration camp is presented.

    Artykuł dotyczy losów mężczyzn ze wsi Bandysie (pow. ostrołęcki), aresztowanych przez Niemców w dniu 3 października 1944 r. Opiera się na protokołach zeznań świadków, które zostały zebrane w czasie śledztwa IPN w latach 2009– 2011. Prezentuje w jaki sposób rodziny zamordowanych pozyskiwały informacje na temat ich losów po aresztowaniu. Przedstawia czynniki, które stały za brakiem pełnej wiedzy rodzin o losach aresztowanych. Ukazuje trudności, z którymi musiały się mierzyć osoby próbujące ustalić losy wywiezionych do obozów rolników z Bandyś.
    The article concerns the fate of men from the village of Bandysie (Ostroleka county), arrested by the Germans on October 3, 1944. It is based on protocols of witness statements that were collected during the IPN investigation in 2009– 2011. It presents how the families of the murdered obtained information about their fate after their arrest. It presents the factors behind the lack of full knowledge of the families about the fate of the arrested. It shows the difficulties faced by people trying to determine the fate of farmers from Bandysie deported to the camps.

    Opis:
    The article describes Jehovah’s Witnesses women as one of less remembered groups among victims of the Nazi regime. What is pointed out, first of all, is the state of research ontheir history, especially pertaining to their camp experience, Western literature on the subject and a negligible number of Polish research works devoted to the topic in question, and also some methodological dilemmas related to researching it. The author presents the circumstances of German Jehovah’s Witnesses after Hitler’s seizure of power, their subsequent persecutions, and also – reconstructed on the basis of documents, witnesses reports, and the members of persecuted group themselves – the fate of female followers of this religion (“the purple triangles”) in concentration camps. The author’s main points of focus are, described by witnesses/beholders/onlookers of the events, acts and attitudes of “the purple triangles” marked by strong spirituality, at the same time unbreakable/intransigent in their defiance of/against violence and the authorities’ orders. (Everybody knew that Jehovah’s Witnesses could have basically “sign off” from the camp by putting their signature at the bottom of a declaration that they would renounce their faith and cease to practise their religion.) Such a defiance may be better understood, the author claims, by interpreting it in the light of the anthropological concept of emotional communities.

    Opis:
    W artykule przedstawiono wybrane sylwetki księży kapelanów Wojska Polskiego i ich bohaterstwo po niemieckiej agresji na Polskę. Jako jeńcy wojenni po kampanii wrześniowej – wbrew obowiązującej I Konwencji Genewskiej – byli wysyłani do niemieckich obozów koncentracyjnych w latach 1939-1945. Tam pozbawiano ich wszelkich praw i traktowano w wyjątkowo brutalny sposób: maltretowano, głodzono, niszczono ciężką pracą, przeprowadzano doświadczenia pseudomedyczne, wysyłano w tzw. transportach inwalidów. Mimo to pozostali niezłomni, do końca wierni Bogu i Ojczyźnie. Bohaterstwo polskich księży kapelanów Wojska Polskiego zasługuje na pamięć, dzisiaj wielu z nich znajduje się w gronie błogosławionych – męczenników II wojny światowej.
    The article presents biographies of selected chaplains of the Polish Army and their heroism after the German aggression of Poland. After the September Campaign – despite being prisoners of war and contrary to the Geneva Conventions – they were sent to German concentration camps in the years of 1939-1945. There, they were deprived of all their rights and treated in an extremely brutal manner: they were mistreated, starved, destroyed with hard work, pseudo-medical experiments were carried out, and they were sent to the so-called transports of invalids. Nevertheless, they remained steadfast, faithful to God and the Fatherland until the end. The heroism of Polish chaplains of the Polish Army deserves to be remembered, today many of them are among the blessed – martyrs of World War II.

    The article is an attempt to reconstruct the experiences of concentration camps’ homosexual prisoners on the basis of their memories preserved in autobiographical texts and analysed using the biographical method. The aim of the article is to describe the stigmatisation and pathologisation of homosexuality in the dominant ideological discourse of the German Reich, and to prove that the rationalisation of violence resulted not only in persecution by camp staff, but also in harassment from and homophobic attitudes among other prisoners, manifested in acts of sexual violence or exclusion from the camp community. The analysis focuses on the physical violence, isolation, forced labour and sharper strictness, highlighting the fluidity of the boundaries between camp procedures and excessive cruelty.
