The study consisted of six phases, namely analysis, design, prototype development, formative evaluation, implementation, and summative evaluation. The analysis phase of this study involved 147 mothers and 3 experts. The participants in the formative evaluation phase consisted of 10 mothers, while the participants in the implementation and summative evaluation stages consisted of 20 mothers. The results of the experts’ and target users’ assessments suggest that the cognitive stimulation package developed in this study is valid and practical. In addition, the stimulation package has also been proven effective in facilitating the cognitive development of 2–3-year-old children at home.

Opis:
Article is deeply rooted in the history of society, presents the historical and socio-cultural situation of phenomenon of playing, children’s games and the role of children’s literature between the Enlightenment and Romanticism and shows that especially the middle class does not occupy an outstanding position. On the contrary, the middle class belongs to the most sceptical social forces. The central values of the middle class – especially the puritan, Calvinist und pietistic parts of it – are different: industriousness, diligence, asceticism, the sacrifice of pleasure, efficiency and rationality. In the bourgeois use of time, all idleness basically counts as suspicious, all playing as a useless waste of time. This attitude is reinforced by the polemical delimitation from the noble and courtly lifestyle, in which all kinds of games have a central place and which, for this reason, is viewed as parasitic. Article pays attention also to the German word for play or game (in German, there is just one word for this, “Spiel”), which can be used for mental games, word play, but also the performance on stage or in an orchestra. Beyond this, text emphasised how to classify genres based on play with language, with sense and nonsense, as well as literary patterns, and genres such as nonsense poetry and parody, as part of intellectual culture rather than part of play culture.

Opis:
Malaysia is a nation rich in culture and heritage because of its multi-racial society that consists of different ethnic groups. Part of this rich cultural heritage are the various traditional children’s games that have existed for a long time, such as Congkak (filling the wooden board), Batu Seremban (tossing the stones), Sepak Takraw (kicking the rattan ball), Gasing (spinning top), Wau (kite flying) and many more. However, with the development of digital technologies and the impact of globalization, traditional children’s games that were once very popular in our society are now slowing fading away. This campaign is carried out using social media, with the aim to explore the values of Malaysian traditional children’s games and to reintroduce these games to children and the general public. The project consisted of a traditional children’s games workshop and an online campaign using Facebook, which targeted a larger audience The findings of this project revealed that traditional children’s games are beneficial to a child’s growth and development, cultural values and teaching practices. Therefore, it is important for the present generation to preserve, promote and relive Malaysian traditional children’s games and to pass them on to the next generation.

Opis:
This article examines children’s games in Les Rougon-Macquart while relying on a typology that includes toys, symbolic plays, and a children’s ball. In addition to their educational and recreational functions, childhood games play various narrative roles, such as constructing a referential universe, creating key moments in the plot, exploring the complexity of child and parental psychology, parent/child relationships and much more. Furthermore, the author, Émile Zola, employs toys and children’s games to inform his reflections on the joint influence of heredity and environment on the fates of characters, in alignment with the principles of the naturalist movement. This approach offers valuable insights into how Zola utilizes children’s games as narrative and symbolic elements within his grand literary tapestry.

Opis:
Popular games are not a waste of time, as many may think. Before the introduction of primary school education, the game was the school of children. They learnt everything they needed while playing. Games and toys helped children become cleverer and wiser. In the article, we present a group of games with an object - the games in which an object is produced. Children worked with natural materials and learnt culture techniques better. It can be claimed that this type of play reflected the unity of nature and society. The study deals with the presentation of such unity by the German minority in Hungary.

Opis:
The activity of Dr. Henryk Jordan played an important role in the development of health education in Galicia, Eastern Europe, in the late 19th and the early 20th centuries. This article revolves around Jordan’s concept of the development of the physical condition of Poles and the physical education system for children and adolescents. Henryk Jordan’s actions have been re-interpreted in the context of building various educational establishments. His efforts, focused on organizing free time for students, were aimed at ensuring their sustainable development. In this respect, the creation of the City Park was Henryk Jordan’s great achievements, serving the physical education of children and adolescents and promotion of mass sport. This organization of public space can be a valuable guideline for architects and educators who create friendly spaces for children and young people. At the same time, the article pinpoints that the target audience and the users are members of local communities whose voices should always be heard and considered. When this happens, they form a relationship with friendly space which takes them into an existential dimension.

Opis:
For centuries people have enjoyed playing. Play is an essential element of everyone’s life, not only children. This article explores own research containing: ethnographic interviews with citizens of Elk region, participant observation of children’s plays and shows by folk artists, survey with preschool and school teachers conducted during traditional play workshops for children. In addition it analyses memories from diaries and from an autobiography. The analysis is supported by examples from literature. Description of some plays gives an opportunity to find out more about everyday life in a particular region in a certain period of time. The literature shows how old are some plays, which are popular and still taught in kindergartens. It is noticed that in the past children, young people and adults had similar plays. Nowadays adults choose mainly dance events, which differ from those described in the article. Children however know and sometimes play the traditional games alongside with new ones. Considering play as a cultural phenomenon it is observed that the rules of children’s plays has not changed, only their form or contents may differ. Children have still enjoyed playing and miming the reality around them.
