Opis:
In the article there is proved the possibility of using ortho-phosphoric acid with special emulsifiers instead of hydrochloric acid - for the production of road cationic slow-setting bitumen emulsions. There is ascertained the difference between used for bitumen emulsions distilled binder (Nybit E85 bitumen), produced from heavy crude oil, and oxidized bitumens (grade 70/100 bitumen produced by JSC Mozyr Refinery and grade BND 60/90 bitumen of JSC UkrTatNafta), produced from light crude oil. The difference is analyzed between physical-mechanical indices of distilled and oxidized bitumens. Eight bitumen emulsion formulations were developed based on usage hydrochloric acid, three bitumens and three emulsifiers (Redicote E-11, Redicote 404 and Redicote E-4875), as well as four formulations based on usage of ortho-phosphoric acid, two bitumens and two emulsifiers (Redicote EM44 and Redicote C-320). There was investigated the influence of hydrochloric and ortho-phosphoric acids upon the physical-technical indices of road cationic slow-setting bitumen emulsions and the difference was ascertained between the indices of bitumen emulsions based on distilled and oxidized bitumens. Bitumen emulsion formulations were developed based on usage of ortho-phosphoric acid and special emulsifiers for the class of cationic slow-setting emulsions for slurry seal and microsurfacing mixtures.

Ze wszystkich dzieł św. Pawła List do Efezjan wykazuje największe zainteresowanie Kościołem powszechnym. Eklezjologia zajmuje w nim wprawdzie główne miejsce, ale znajduje się w nim także rys pneumatologiczny. W niniejszym artykule autor podejmuje próbę przedstawienia owej nauki o Trzeciej Osobie Boskiej, analizując fragmenty zawierające greckie słowo pneuma (πνεῦμα), będące określeniem Ducha Świętego. W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiono wyżej wspomniany termin pneuma w różnych kontekstach użycia gramatycznego. Druga część tego krótkiego studium przedstawia Ducha Świętego jako osobę, która żyje, jednoczy i buduje Kościół. Zaś w trzeciej części autor analizuje działanie Ducha Świętego w człowieku. Trzecia Osoba Boska napełnia człowieka Sobą i żyje w nim. Człowiek jest „naznaczony pieczęcią Ducha Świętego” (Ef 1,13; 4,30) i jest zaproszony, aby modlić się w Duchu i wziąć „miecz Ducha, którym jest Słowo Boże” (Ep 6,17 –18).
Of all the works of St. Paul, it is the Letter to the Ephesians which focuses more than any other on the universal Church. Ecclesiology occupies a superior place in it, but it also teaches us about pneumatology. In this article the author makes an attempt to present these teachings about pneumatology by analyzing passages which contain a Greek word pneuma (πνεῦμα), as a term which describes the Holy Spirit. The first part of the article presents the above mentioned term pneuma in different contexts of grammatical use. The second part of this short study presents the Holy Spirit as a person who lives, unites and builds the Church. In the third part the author analyses how the Holy Spirit works in a human being. Thus the Third person of God fi lls man with Himself and lives in him. A man is “stamped with the seal of Holy Spirit” (Ep 1:13; 4:30) and is invited to pray in the Spirit and take “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ep 6:17–18).

The article concerns the iconography of the seal of Anne of Bohemia, Duchess of Silesia. In the analysis of its message particular attention was given to the object held by the duchess in her hand, which has been contradictory interpreted in historiography. The author has proven that it is the fleur-de-lys, symbolizing purity and sanctity – important values in life of the duchess to whom the sigillum belonged.

W artykule rozpatrywane są pieczęcie sądów ziemskich i ich urzędników w WKL (w dziewięciu powiatach województw wileńskiego i trockiego) w latach 1564–1792. Materiał empiryczny do badań stanowiło około dwustu niepublikowanych pieczęci sądów ziemskich i ich urzędników. Artykuł dzieli się na trzy części. Część pierwsza zawiera analizę sposobu określania w statutach litewskich i Volumina legum zasad używania pieczęci sądów ziemskich i ich urzędników oraz realizowania tego w praktyce. W części drugiej pieczęcie sądów ziemskich zbadano pod względem heraldycznym i sfragistycznym. Takiej samej analizie w części trzeciej poddano pieczęcie urzędników sądów ziemskich – sędziów i podsędków. W artykule postawiono tezę, że zawarte w II Statucie litewskim z 1566 r. i trzecim z 1588 r. oraz wprowadzone w ramach reformy z 1764 r. normy określające używanie pieczęci sądów ziemskich i ich urzędników były przestrzegane. The article deals with seals of land courts and their officials in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (in nine districts of the Wilno (Vilnius) and Troki (Trakai) voivodeships) in 1564–1792. The study is based about two hundred unpublished seals of land courts and their officials. The article is divided into three parts: part one presents an analysis of how the use of seals by land courts and officials was described in the Statutes of Lithuania and the Volumina legum, and in what way those regulations were implemented in practice. Part two is devoted to a thorough heraldic and sphragistic analysis of the seals of land courts, and part three – to an analysis of land court officials: judges, and sub-judges (singular: podsędek, subiudex). The article puts forward the thesis that the norms included in the Second (1566) and Third (1588) Lithuanian Statutes, and those introduced by the reform of 1764, regulating the use of seals of land courts and of their officials were abided by. The article is supplemented by an annexe with the photographs of seals of land courts and their officials.

The Collection of Tunay Demran, officially registered in the Manisa Archaeological Museum, contains seven seals, six of lead and one of silver, and one blank. Manisa, the Byzantine Magnesia Anelios on Mount Sipylos, with its fertile lowland and strategic location in Western Anatolia, has been home to different civilizations over the centuries, including the Lydian Kingdom, one of the most important ancient civilizations. In the 13th century, it became one of the more important cities of the Nicene Empire (established after the Latin invasion in 1204) and the seat of Ioannes III Doukas Vatatzes, who located an actively working mint there. Later on, the city and its environs came under the rule of the Beylik of Saruhan and the Ottoman Empire. There is a rich archaeological record of civil and religious architecture in Manisa and its surroundings, still awaiting full investigation. The article presents Demran’s collection of seals and explores potential ties with the archaeological remains of historical Magnesia.

Opis:
The presented paper concerns CFD optimization of the straight-through labyrinth seal with a smooth land. The aim of the process was to reduce the leakage flow through a labyrinth seal with two fins. Due to the complexity of the problem and for the sake of the computation time, a decision was made to modify the standard evolutionary optimization algorithm by adding an approach based on a metamodel. Five basic geometrical parameters of the labyrinth seal were taken into account: the angles of the seal’s two fins, and the fin width, height and pitch. Other parameters were constrained, including the clearance over the fins. The CFD calculations were carried out using the ANSYS-CFX commercial code. The in-house optimization algorithm was prepared in the Matlab environment. The presented metamodel was built using a Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural Network which was trained using the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. The Neural Network training and validation were carried out based on the data from the CFD analysis performed for different geometrical configurations of the labyrinth seal. The initial response surface was built based on the design of the experiment (DOE). The novelty of the proposed methodology is the steady improvement in the response surface goodness of fit. The accuracy of the response surface is increased by CFD calculations of the labyrinth seal additional geometrical configurations. These configurations are created based on the evolutionary algorithm operators such as selection, crossover and mutation. The created metamodel makes it possible to run a fast optimization process using a previously prepared response surface. The metamodel solution is validated against CFD calculations. It then complements the next generation of the evolutionary algorithm.

In the paper, fire resistance of linear joints seal made of elastomer spacers under standard fire conditions, and thermal degradation range of EPDM elastomeric spacers are investigated. The geometry of elastomer spacer joints is important not only for their load capacity under normal conditions - thickness, width, and cavity depth can also influence fire resistance performance. Linear joints of different thicknesses and widths have been tested. The fire insulation and fire integrity were verified for various arrangements. Relatively low thermal degradation rates have been measured, given that EPDM is a combustible material.
W artykule analizowano odporność ogniową uszczelnień złączy liniowych wykonanych z podkładek elastomerowych EPDM. Geometria podkładek elastomerowych jest ważna nie tylko pod względem ich nośności w warunkach normalnych - grubość, szerokość i głębokość zagłębienia podkładek, mają również wpływ na odporność ogniową. W artykule przetestowano uszczelnienia złączy liniowych o różnych grubościach i szerokościach. W opisywanym badaniu sprawdzano izolacyjność ogniową i szczelność ogniową dla różnych wariantów. Z dokonanych pomiarów wynikają stosunkowo małe prędkości degradacji cieplnej, biorąc pod uwagę, że EPDM jest materiałem palnym.

In the article the seals diagnostic problems, especially mechanical seals use in machines and devices of food industry, are discussed. The methods assessments of the state of mechanical seals are shown. The examples of diagnostic of seals use in brewery and sugar factory are presented. Possibilities of diagnostic of mechanical seals by using leakage are analyzed.

Przeprowadzona analiza dotyczy kryteriów wymiany uszczelnień czołowych, rodzajów uszkodzeń, możliwości postępowania po utracie zdatności oraz metod ich regeneracji. Zdecydowana większość uszczelnień w mleczarni jest eksploatowana aż do uszkodzenia. Często stosowana jest regeneracja uszczelnień wykonywana w zakładzie mleczarskim lub w serwisie. Decyzja o zastąpieniu uszczelnienia nowym bądź o jego regeneracji powinna zostać poprzedzona odpowiednią analizą. W pracy wskazano czynniki wpływające na wybór danego rozwiązania oraz przedstawiono zarys procesu regeneracji uszczelnień czołowych w mleczarni.
Analysis concerned the replacement criteria of mechanical seals, types of damage, possibility of proceeding after the loss of fitness and methods of regeneration was performed. The vast majority of seals at the dairy operate until failure. The regeneration of seals, often used, is performed on-site or in the service. A decision to replace the seal or its regeneration should be proceeded by an appropriate analysis. Factors affecting a choice of particular solution and the outline of regeneration process in dairy mechanical seals are indicated in the paper.

Producenci uszczelnień ograniczyli rozwiązania materiałowe, jednak wybór odpowiedniego materiału nadal stanowi punkt krytyczny w doborze uszczelnienia. W pracy omówiono wymagania higieniczne stawiane stosowanym materiałom, zwrócono uwagę na zagrożenia związane z niewłaściwym doborem uszczelnień czołowych, a także zaproponowano ogólny algorytm doboru uszczelnień czołowych.
Seal manufacturers narrow a list of available materials, however the selection of appropriate material remains still a critical step in the successful application of mechanical seal. Hygienic requirements of seal material used in the food industry are discussed in the paper. Attention is paid to a risk associated with the improper selection of mechanical seals. Moreover, a general algorithm for selection of mechanical seal is proposed.
