Marine economy is a new economic form, emphasizing new development concept, new operation mechanism and management mode. In recent years, marine economy shows rapid growth, and marine industry presents a clustering development trend. The industrial linkage effect, industrial agglomeration effect and industrial radiation effect of the marine industrial cluster are important motive forces for the development of coastal cities. The marine industrial cluster takes coastal cities as the development platform and space, while the coastal cities achieve rapid and sustainable development based on the marine industrial cluster. The synergetic and coupling development of the marine industrial cluster and coastal cities is an important way for the promotion of industrial competitiveness and urban competitiveness. This paper developed a measure to identify the marine industrial cluster, designed the evaluation index of coupling of marine industrial cluster and coastal cities development from two perspectives of industrial linkage and spatial agglomeration, taking Shandong province, a typical coastal province in China, as an example, it studied the situation of the marine industrial cluster based on input-output data and data of marine enterprises of coastal cities, based on which it explored the coupling relationship between marine industrial cluster and coastal cities of Shandong province.

Thermal conductivity is a significant heat transfer property of soil. However, the influence of biochar on this property is not well known. In this research, the influence of corn straw biochars prepared at 300, 500 and 700oC on the thermal conductivity of a Brown Earth (Hapli-Udic Cambisol, FAO) soil and its prediction using a Campbell model was examined. The outcomes revealed that the bulk densities of the soil markedly decreased with increases in the biochar amendment rates of 1, 3, and 5% in linear patterns. The reduction in bulk density was mainly attributed to an increase in soil porosity and organic carbon content. With increasing volumetric water contents (10, 20, 30 and 40%), the thermal conductivity of the soils significantly increased, whereas those of soils with biochar amendment were obviously less than that of the CK and the differences increased with the biochar application rates. The pyrolysis temperature of biochar exhibited a negligible effect on the bulk density and thermal conductivity of soils at large. Combining the linear reduction of bulk density with the biochar amendment rate into the Campbell model, well-fitting results for the variation inthermal conductivity versus volumetric water content were obtained and accurate values could be predicted.

The exquisitely preserved longipterygid enantiornithine Rapaxavis pani is redescribed here after more extensive preparation. A complete review of its morphology is presented based on information gathered before and after preparation. Among other features, Rapaxavis pani is characterized by having an elongate rostrum (close to 60% of the skull length), rostrally restricted dentition, and schizorhinal external nares. Yet, the most puzzling feature of this bird is the presence of a pair of pectoral bones (here termed paracoracoidal ossifications) that, with the exception of the enantiornithine Concornis lacustris, are unknown within Aves. Particularly notable is the presence of a distal tarsal cap, formed by the fusion of distal tarsal elements, a feature that is controversial in non−ornithuromorph birds. The holotype and only known specimen of Rapaxavis pani thus reveals important information for better understanding the anatomy and phylogenetic relationships of longipterygids, in particular, as well as basal birds as a whole.

A novel Composite Modified Double Base (CMDB) propellant, formed by mechanically mixing aluminium/polytetrafluorethylene (Al/PTFE) powders, was prepared through a rolling process. A variety of tests, such as tensile properties, particle size analysis etc., were carried out to study the influence of PTFE on the CMDB propellant properties. The PTFE deformed from particles to fibres under a uniform shear force, forming a fibre network which greatly improved the propellant’s mechanical properties. Compared to that of the CMDB propellant without PTFE, the elongation of the propellant containing 6% PTFE was increased by 26 times, and moreover, the impact strength was enhanced by 326% at −40 °C. Significantly, the propellant friction and impact sensitivities were reduced by 75.8% and 35.6%, respectively. In addition, the presence of PTFE in the propellant resulted in fluorination of the Al. The gaseous combustion product AlF3 reduced the propellant combustion agglomeration. Consequently, PTFE significantly promoted the propellant’s mechanical performance, decreased the shock (friction, impact) sensitivity and reduced combustion agglomeration.

Over the next few decades the automotive industry will be faced with a number of challenging decisions as the world’s supply of oil reduces and the global population increases beyond 7 billion. These factors have driven some researchers to look at blending fossil fuels with alternatives such as crop-produced alcohols (or so-called biofuels). The currently reported study was concerned with the combustion characteristics of ethanol-isooctane blended fuels in a specially designed, single cylinder, spark ignition research engine equipped with full bore overhead optical access. The testing was undertaken using port fuel injection (PFI) and was focused on the behaviour of differing ethanol concentrations under varied internal exhaust gas re-circulation levels (IEGR). Simultaneous high speed imaging and in-cylinder pressure data analysis was used to understand the fundamental influence of varying ethanol content on turbulent flame propagation and subsequent mass burning. The resulting images were analysed looking at the speed of the advancing flame and the shape factor of the burning velocity. The initial evidence suggested that under the moderate speeds and loads tested, poor charge mixture preparation associated with ethanol was leading to fast but unstable burn rates. This could be avoided and combustion improved by using increased valve overlap settings, with the hot residuals entering the intake port aiding the full evaporation of the fuel.

This paper investigates the pinning synchronization of two general complex dynamical networks with lag. The coupling configuration matrices in the two networks are not need to be symmetric or irreducible. Several convenient and useful criteria for lag synchronization are obtained based on the lemma of Schur complement and the Lyapunov stability theory. Especially, the minimum number of controllers in pinning control can be easily obtained. At last, numerical simulations are provided to verify the effectiveness of the criteria.

This study analyses and presents a technical comparison of seepage estimation from 11 empirical equations with measured seepage losses by the inflow-outflow method from two lined and unlined secondary irrigation canals sub-divided into different reach lengths. A significant margin of error was observed between empirical and inflowoutflow methods, hence modifications in empirical equations were performed. Results reveal that the average seepage losses observed in unlined and lined canals by inflow-outflow method were 9.15 and 3.89%, respectively. Moreover, only the Chinese equation estimated seepage losses for an unlined canal as similar to observed losses (0.11 m3 ∙s-1) whereas the Indian equation estimated similar results for a lined canal to those observed in the field (0.09 m3∙s-1). However, the rest of empirical equations were modified in accordance with error percentage with regard to the observed losses. The empirical equations were then observed to estimate reliable results of seepage.

In coal mine fire rescues, if the abnormal increase of gas concentration occurs, it is the primary thing to analyze the reasons and identify sources of the abnormal forming, which is also the basis of judge the combustion state of fire area and formulate proper fire reliefs. Nowadays, related researches have recognized the methane explosion as the source of high concentration of H2 formation, but there are few studies about the conditions and reaction mechanism of gas explosion generating high concentration of H2.Therefore, this paper uses the chemical kinetic calculation software, ChemKin, and the 20L spherical explosion experimental device to simulate the generating process and formation conditions of H2 in gas explosion. The experimental results show that: the decomposition of water vapor is the main base element reaction (R84) which leads to the generation of H2.The free radical H is the key factor to influence the formation of H2 generated from gas explosion. With the gradual increase of gas explosion concentration, the explosive reaction becomes more incomplete, and then the generating quantity of H2 increases gradually. Experimental results of 20L spherical explosion are consistent with the change trend about simulation results, which verifies the accuracy of simulation analysis. The results of explosion experiments show that when gas concentration is higher than 9%, the incomplete reaction of methane explosion increases which leads to the gradual increase of H2 formation

With the ever increasing demand of higher machining accuracies, the machining accuracy reliability has evolved into an indicator to evaluate the performance of a machine tool. Consequentially, methods for improving the machining accuracy reliability have become the focus of attention for both manufacturers and users. Generally, the intercoupling geometric errors are the main cause which may lead to a reduction of the machining accuracy of machine tools. In this paper, the machining accuracy reliability is defined as the ability of a machine tool to perform at its specified machining accuracy under the stated conditions for a given period of time, and a new approach for analyzing the machining accuracy reliability of machine tools based on fast Markov chain simulations is proposed. Using this method, seven different failure modes could be determined for a machine tool. An analysis of the machining accuracy reliability sensitivity was performed based on solving the integral of the failure probability of the machine tool, and the key geometric errors which most strongly affect the machining accuracy reliability were identified. Finally, in this study, a 4-axis machine tool was selected as an example to experimentally validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Wraz z wciąż rosnącym zapotrzebowaniem na coraz to wyższą dokładność obróbki, niezawodność dokładności obróbki stała się wskaźnikiem pozwalającym na ocenę charakterystyk obrabiarek. W rezultacie, metody doskonalenia niezawodności dokładności obróbki znalazły się w centrum uwagi zarówno producentów jak i użytkowników tych maszyn. Na ogół, do zmniejszenia dokładności obróbki prowadzą nakładające się błędy geometryczne. W niniejszej pracy, niezawodność dokładności obróbki zdefiniowano jako zdolność obrabiarki do pracy z określoną dla niej dokładnością w zadanych warunkach przez dany okres czasu. Zaproponowano nowe podejście do analizy niezawodności dokładności obróbki oparte na symulacji metodą szybkich łańcuchów Markowa. Za pomocą tej metody, można ustalić siedem różnych przyczyn uszkodzeń obrabiarki. Analizę czułości niezawodnościowej dokładności obróbki przeprowadzono obliczając całkę prawdopodobieństwa uszkodzenia obrabiarki. Określono także kluczowe błędy geometryczne, które najsilniej wpływają na niezawodność dokładności obróbki. Wreszcie, efektywność proponowanej metody sprawdzono doświadczalnie na przykładzie obrabiarki czteroosiowej.

In this paper, the method of periodically pinning intermittent control is introduced to solve the problem of outer synchronization between two complex networks. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, differential inequality method and adaptive technique, some simple synchronous criteria have been derived analytically. At last, both the theoretical and numerical analysis illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control methodology. This method not only reduces the conservatism of control gain but also saves the cost of production.These advantages make this method having a large application scope in the real production process.

Collisions and groundings account for more than 80% among all types of maritime accidents, and risk assessment is an essential step in the formal safety assessment. This paper proposes a method based on fuzzy fault tree analysis and Noisy-OR gate Bayesian network for navigational risk assessment. First, a fault tree model was established with historical data, and the probability of basic events is calculated using fuzzy sets. Then, the Noisy-OR gate is utilized to determine the conditional probability of related nodes and obtain the probability distribution of the consequences in the Bayesian network. Finally, this proposed method is applied to Qinzhou Port. From sensitivity analysis, several predominant influencing factors are identified, including navigational area, ship type and time of the day. The results indicate that the consequence is sensitive to the position where the accidents occurred. Consequently, this paper provides a practical and reasonable method for risk assessment for navigational accidents.

In recent years European automotive CO2 emissions targets have largely been met through increased diesel sales. However, the distillation of crude oil results in high proportions of both gasoline and diesel fuel and ultimately this has resulted in Europe being "diesel lean" at times. In order to meet future global emissions goals, in the short term it will be necessary to improve the fuel consumption of the gasoline engine and in the longer term source sustainable alternatives to crude oil. The objective of the current work was to investigate the optimum trade-off between the opposing engine operating requirements of gasoline engine downsizing and Controlled Auto-Ignition (CAI) combustion for use in a family-sized passenger car. Experimental fuel consumption and emissions data were produced for four sizes of spark ignition engine, varying from 1 to 2 litres in capacity. The additional benefits of two experimentally developed CAI operating methodologies were evaluated in each engine using drive cycle simulation software. The first CAI mode was based on novel use of combined internal and external EGR to attain higher loads. The second involved the adoption of turbocharging at part-load for yet higher output via so-called lean-boosted CAI. It was concluded that, for such a vehicle, a compromise exists where best fuel economy can be obtained from a moderately downsized CAI-capable engine. Compared to the baseline 2 litre engine, it was possible to obtain fuel economy benefit equivalent to that offered from an aggressively downsized 1 litre unit but using a moderately downsized 1.4 litre CAI engine, without the need for any complex boosted operation or expensive emissions aftertreatment systems. As capacity was reduced below 1.4 litres, the benefit of CAI diminished at an accelerated rate due to progressive failure to capture key higher load sites visited across the European drive cycle.

Rare earth elements (REEs) provide important properties to clean energy technologies such as wind turbine and hybrid electric vehicles. The global REE demand will grow rapidly during the global transformation toward a greener economy in the next decades. This high demand will require a steady supply chain in the long run. China has a monopoly of global REE production and extraction. The global REE supply chain runs the risk of disruption along with Chinese REE policy evolution. To overcome this supply chain vulnerability, new strategies and measures should be adopted to satisfy future REE supply/demand. There is a pressing need to explore REE deposits, develop efficient REE recycling techniques from end-of-life products, improve substitution technologies for REEs, and reduce the number of critical REEs used in devices. Such measures are facing significant challenges due to environmental factors and an unbalanced market, and overcoming them requires efforts from government and REE companies.
Pierwiastki ziem rzadkich (Rare Earths Elements) mają istotne znaczenie dla rozwoju czystych technologii energetycznych, takich jak turbiny wiatrowe czy pojazdy hybrydowe. Światowy popyt na REE będzie wzrastał w związku z globalną transformacją w kierunku bardziej czystej (ekologicznej) gospodarki w okresie najbliższych dziesięcioleci. Wysoki popyt wymagać będzie stabilnego łańcucha dostaw REE w dłuższej perspektywie. Chiny mają monopol w zakresie globalnej produkcji i wydobycia REE. Światowe dostawy REE obarczone są jednak ryzykiem zakłóceń wynikających z chińskiej polityki w tym zakresie. W związku z tym, powinny być przyjęte nowe środki i strategie w celu zaspokojenia przyszłego popytu/podaży na REE. Istnieje pilna konieczność: poszukiwania nowych złóż, opracowania skutecznych technik recyklingu z wycofanych z eksploatacji produktów, poprawy technologii z zastosowaniem substytutów REE oraz zmniejszenie liczby krytycznych pierwiastków ziem rzadkich w stosowanych urządzeniach. Działania te stanowią poważne wyzwanie ze względu na czynniki środowiskowe i niezrównoważony rynek (monopol podaży). Przezwyciężenie ich wymaga odpowiednich działań ze strony rządu i firm zajmujących się produkcją REE.

The spin Hamiltonian parameters (g-factors and the hyperfine structure constants) and local structure are theoretically studied for single Cu²⁺ ion in BaF₂ from the high-order perturbation formulae of these parameters for 3d⁹ ions in tetragonally elongated octahedra. In the calculations, the ligand orbital and spin-orbit coupling of the impurity Cu²⁺ are taken into account, based on the cluster approach. Due to the Jahn-Teller effect and size mismatching substitution, the impurity Cu²⁺ is found to be located at a distance of about 0.2 Å from the nearest fluorine plane. The signs of the hyperfine structure constants $A_∥ $ and $ A_⊥ $ are suggested. The theoretical spin Hamiltonian parameters based on the above local structure are in good agreement with the observed values.
