    Opis:
    This paper describes the possibilities of the diachronic description of Polish inflection by the Chronofleks system and using it in academic didactics of historical linguistics classes. In new didactic seems necessary to use solutions based on new technologies that use students’ digital skills. Therefore, the observations carried out were to check the extent to which Chronofleks is helpful both in verifying the information available in academic textbooks and in the independent acquisition of knowledge by students. Three grammar issues were selected for research: Kopczyński’s rules, distribution of historic singular endings of male nouns, and ending frequency of the first person plural of verbs. The tests showed that a student can successfully learn the morphology of old Polish using the Chronofleks tool. In addition, Chronofleks allows you to implement a self-study teaching model.

    Celem artykułu jest opis oraz analiza frekwencyjna połączeń przymiotnika słodki w znaczeniach ‘miły, przyjemny’, ‘sprawiający miłe wrażenie’, ‘mdły, duszący’ obecnych zarówno w polszczyźnie dawnej, jak i współczesnej. Badania zostały przeprowadzone na podstawie Korpusu Dawnych Polskich Tekstów Dramatycznych (1772–1939), zasobów Narodowego Korpusu Języka Polskiego oraz korpusu monitorującego MoncoPL. Analiza zorientowana jest zarówno ilościowo, jak i jakościowo, to znaczy pokazuje zależność pomiędzy używaniem konkretnych połączeń wyrazowych a ich znaczeniem.
    This article aims to confirm that modifications in meanings of words are associated with their collocations. This is based on an analysis performed on the collocations of the adjective ‘słodki’ [sweet]. The language material for the research was collected using historical and contemporary Polish language corpora: Korpus Dawnych Polskich Tekstów Dramatycznych (1772–1939) [The Corpus of Polish Drama Texts], PELCRA search engine for Narodowy Korpus Języka Polskiego [The National Corpus of Polish], and the Monco PL searching tool for websites. Analysing authentic examples of word combinations reveals the relationship between the adjective’s specific meaning and its collocates. The analysis also demonstrates that the collocation of ‘słodki’ has been changing over the eras of language use.

    The article presents the word family of the verb grzmieć (to thunder) from the beginning of the Polish language to the 20th century. The research material includes 90 derivatives that have been characterized in terms of word formation and meaning within three values: SOUND, FORCE, and INTENSITY. The synchronic linguistics method of word-formation adapted to historical material allowed for including in the analysis words such as pogrom, zgromić, gromot which lost their formal and semantic connection with the Proto-Slavic root they were based on. The analysis proved that the semantic value of the base and its morphological features influence the development of subsequent meanings of words belonging to the word family. The meaning of intensity especially seen in words such as ogromny, ogromnie, ogromniasty is a kind of exponent of the value inherent in their root and is present in many other words derived from the same Proto-Slavic root.

    The aim of the article was to confirm whether or not the modification of words meaning is associated with their collocations. Based on the analysis performed on the collocation of the verb kolaborować [to collaborate] and the noun ambasador [an ambassador] we proved the existence of the aforementioned correlation. The language material for research was collected using PELCRA search engine for Narodowy Korpus Języka Polskiego [The National Corpus of Polish] and Monco PL searching tool for web sides. The analysis of the authentic examples of word combinations reveals the relation between node terms and their collocates. The article listed the word pairs whom recurrence has high co-occurrence frequency. In the case of the verb kolaborować, excerpt collocations refer to the negative contexts associated with cooperation with the enemy and neutral about the cooperation of people and companies. The contexts of the noun ambasador are related to the work of a diplomatic representative to a foreign country, an action spokesperson or a brand ambassador. Our research indicated that collocations are not accidental or arbitrary. It has been also noted that collocations study are a valuable starting point for linguistic analyses.
