    The collisional broadening and shift of 494.5 nm spectral line of neon arising from 2p$\text{}^{5}$3p-2p$\text{}^{5}$ns7s transition, emitted from a low-pressure glow discharge in pure neon and neon-helium mixtures have been measured. The values of pressure broadening and shift coefficients were determined. Experimental data of 494.5 nm line as well as our earlier results for spectral lines originating from the 2p$\text{}^{5}$3p-2p$\text{}^{5}$ns7s (n = 5, 6) transitions are compared with those resulting from the Kaulakys and Ueda theories of pressure effects on Rydberg states.

    Opis:
    The extended Omont-Ueda-Kaulakys treatment of collisional effects on quasi-Rydberg states, which takes into account the perturbation of the lower state, is applied to Ar*-He, Ar*-Ne and Ar*-Ar systems. The pressure broadening and shift coefficients of spectral lines of argon involving the 3p$\text{}^{5}$ns (n = 6-9) and 3p$\text{}^{5}$nd (n = 4-8) states are determined and compared with those resulting from the experiment.

    Using a laser-induced fluorescence method a detailed analysis of profiles of the $\text{}^{114}$Cd 326.1 nm line perturbed by neon and helium was performed which revealed deviations from the ordinary Voigt profile. These deviations are shown to be consistent with fits of experimental profiles to an asymmetric Voigt profile. Coefficients of the pressure broadening, shift and collision-time asymmetry are determined and compared with those calculated in the adiabatic approximation for different interaction potentials.

    The profiles of argon perturbed components of the 5$\text{}^{1}$S$\text{}_{0}$-5$\text{}^{3}$P$\text{}_{1}$ line of the even-odd $\text{}^{113}$Cd isotope were measured using a laser-induced fluorescence method. It was shown that the asymmetries of the profiles are due to both the collision-duration and line-mixing effects.

    Profiles of the self-broadened 748.8 nm Ne line emitted from a glow discharge in neon in the pressure range between 0.8 and 100 Tr were measured using an improved experimental setup with pressure-scanned Fabry-Perot interferometer. First, line profiles were analysed using an ordinary Voigt procedure which yielded the Doppler widths decreasing with the increase in neon pressure. Using a speed-dependent Voigt profile it was shown that for the 748.8 nm line the correlation between the Doppler and collisional broadening plays an important role. However, the values of the pressure broadening and shift coefficients determined by the speed-dependent Voigt analysis were found to be only slightly different from those obtained by the ordinary Voigt analysis. A systematic error in the determination of perturber concentration in our previous investigation was corrected.

    Opis:
    Multiple myeloma is a neoplastic disease which is characterised by proliferation of monoclonal plasmocytes in the bone marrow. It is the second most common hematologic cancer and it represents 1% of all cancer deaths. Despite enormous development in multiple myeloma biology and treatment over the last 30 years - it is still incurable disease with a median survival of 50 – 55 months. Currently, one of the most important goals in the treatment of multiple myeloma is to achieve long-term control of the disease, without negative impact on the patient’s quality of life. Thanks to therapeutic regimens based on new immunomodulatory drugs, this aim seems to be achievable. In this paper we present the case of a female patient living with multiple myeloma for 14 years. Initially patient was treated with standard VAD (vincristine, doxorubicin, dexamethasone) chemotherapy regimen. After a nearly complete remission of the disease, autotransplantation of hematopoietic cells was performed. One year after transplantation there was a relapse of the disease. In the treatment of relapse it was decided to use scheme based on lenalidomide and dexamethasone. After 4th cycle of treatment, a complete remission was achieved. So far, the patient received 149 cycles. In the evaluation of minimal residual disease still maintains a state of complete remission maintains. During over 12 years of treatment no complications in grade 3 and 4 of the CTCAE v.4 was observed. Currently the patient is 58 years old, she still receives lenalidomide and leads moderately active life.
