In this investigation, an epidemic Markov queueing model with alert, infection, vaccination and death has been considered. The main focus of this work is on the vaccination to provide the infection in a population. Healthy person may be affected from some disease that may cause death. The vaccination is the power tool for the prevention of the diseases spreading over the population size. Healthy person become alert when symptoms of the disease can be seen on them and the alert may be injected due to more infection. The provision of vaccination is provided in both alert and infected stages. The transition rates as followed by exponential distribution. A Markov model is developed by using inflow and outflow transition rates of the model. The transient state probabilities are evaluated by solving the transient state equations by using runge kutta method which are further used for calculating the model performances. A numerical illustration is also provided to validate the model.

Opis:
ZnO thin film with an aim to employ in opto-electronic applications was prepared using sol-gel dip-coating route and thereafter sintered at temperature 500 ºC. The film has been investigated by XRD pattern, SEM, UV-Vis and photoluminescence spectroscopy for physical and optical characterization of ZnO thin film. X-Ray diffraction pattern analysis reveals the polycrystalline nature with hexagonal wurtzite structure having orientation along the plane (002). Scanning electron micrograph shows symmetrical dense ZnO rod throughout the surface. The diffuse reflectance spectrum is studied in the range of wavelength 300-800 nm. A band gap of 3.21 eV is calculated using Kubelka-Munk function. PL spectrum shows strong peak at 380 nm due to oxygen vacancy of ZnO.

Opis:
The instability of longitudinal electro-kinetic wave that is propagating across the magnetic field B$\text{}_{0}$ in ion-implanted group-IV semiconductor sample consisting of non-drifting electrons, holes, and negatively charged colloids is investigated. Using hydrodynamic approach, a compact dispersion relation D(ω,k) is derived for the same. The propagation and amplification characteristics of the wave in collision dominated regime are studied numerically in detail for slow and fast modes. Results show that the presence of transverse magnetic field is responsible for the modification of the existing wave spectra of the slow electro-kinetic branch. In case of fast electro-kinetic wave, the presence of magnetic field is found responsible for excitation and amplification of a new mode. It is also found that the magnetic field is responsible for the conversion of two existing aperiodic modes into periodic ones. These novel periodic modes are found to be counter-propagating in nature.

This paper provides an overview of the importance of dwarf figures/jesters in Ancient Indian history and society. There are numerous dwarf-like figures depicted in ancient Indian temples. These little figurines would have not only filled the area and add decorative value but also, they have a small but significant place in iconography. A dwarf-like figure, the Vidushaka, who was a brahmin with a tuft on his head and a staff in his hand, was found on the walls of Ajanta and in the Natyashastra text. His occupation is to light the stressful environment by making the court laughing. It goes without saying how valuable the Vidushaka is as a kind of entertainment in ancient India. The objective of this research is to look at how the Vidushaka (jester) had been contributing to the ‘entertainment industry’ of ancient India and how they have been portrayed through out the history (from ancient to medieval times). This would also allow us to discover that jesters were not only adept at entertaining others with amusing jokes, but also able to express himself on the oddities of human life.

Opis:
Ferric carboxymaltose (FCM) is a non-dextran iron preparation used for intravenous treatment of iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) in adult patients with intolerance or poor response to oral iron therapy. Acute hypersensitivity reactions (HSRs) during iron infusions are very rare but can be life-threatening even after receiving a prior test dose. Here, we report a case of 42 years old female patient who underwent total laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. On the next postoperative day she received an injection of ferric carboxy maltose. She was diagnosed with IDA. She presented with the picture of an adverse drug reaction due to injection FCM. She was managed with oxygen, vasopressors, antihistaminics, intravenous fluids and, corticosteroids. She recovered well within 24 hours of intensive care unit admission following this adverse drug reaction. So, careful and precise observation is required in management of adverse reaction following ferric carboxymaltose and prompt recognition and treatment based on severity is warranted.

Introduction and aim. Vasectomy was introduced in India in 1992 and is the most effective, simple, and safe permanent method of contraception yet its use is very limited among the population. The study’s objectives were to assess the knowledge, attitude, and perception towards vasectomy and the barriers to adoption among married men in Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Material and methods. A cross-sectional hospital-based study was conducted on married male attendants of patients and data were collected on sociodemographic details, knowledge regarding vasectomy, their attitude and perceptions towards vasectomy, and their intention of using vasectomy in the future. Results. Out of 300 participants, 258 (86%) participants have heard of vasectomy as a contraceptive method, and only one participant has undergone vasectomy. The majority (285; 95%) of the participants agreed that family planning is also a responsibility of males while nearly two-third (185; 61.7%) of them were not willing to undergo vasectomy in the future. Procedure-related factors, post-procedure-related factors, social factors, availability of alternate contraceptive methods, and preference for tubectomy were the barriers to the adoption of vasectomy. Conclusion. There is a need to provide correct information and counseling about vasectomy and non-scalpel vasectomy to eligible couples to increase the acceptance of vasectomy as a safe, effective, and cheaper method of contraception.

Opis:
Background. Interlocking nailing is considered a gold standard surgical treatment of mid-shaft closed diaphyseal tibial fractures. With increasing exposure of orthopaedic surgeons to radiation, we propose a solution to this health hazard through a study wherein we perform the surgery without any radiation or C-arm exposure. Material and methods. This prospective study was done at GMC Jammu from January 2017 to February 2020 and included 218 patients, with 18 patients having bilateral tibia fractures in the age group 15 to 58 years (mean of 37.6 years), including 63.7% males (n=139) and 36.3% females (n=79). The 236 extra-articular closed tibial mid-diaphyseal fractures were operated on and intramedullary tibial nailing was performed without a single C-arm exposure. Postoperative x-rays were done and reduction assessed by standard acceptable criteria. Results. Among 236 cases in which nailing was done, 227 (96%) patients were successfully distally locked, including 128 (56.3%) locked through the jig and 99 (43.6%) by “hit and trial method.” All cases met acceptability criteria set for management of tibia by nailing. Conclusions. 1. This study strengthens the proof that closed extra-articular diaphyseal fractures of the tibia can be managed by nailing without using the C-arm with excellent results. 2. The C-arm is always available for cases where distal locking could not be achieved. 3. The technique has a great role in centres with limited facilities of intra-operative radiography in emergency operation theatres.
