Cartesian product of graphs
Opis:
We study the inheritance of path-pairability in the Cartesian product of graphs and prove additive and multiplicative inheritance patterns of path-pairability, depending on the number of vertices in the Cartesian product. We present path-pairable graph families that improve the known upper bound on the minimal maximum degree of a path-pairable graph. Further results and open questions about path-pairability are also presented.

Opis:
The safety of travel on public roads is one of the most important issues to be developed in Hungary and in the European Union. The authors conducted a survey on the current state of the topic in Hungary. They examine the actions undertaken in traffic safety and traffic control in the past years in the country. Vehicle drivers consider regulations on speed limits and overspeeding to be less respectable and acceptable. The absolute transgression of the speed limit, also known as overspeeding, significantly increases the risk of accidents, and also adds to the severity of accidents, considering the majority of the traumas and the occurrence of fatalities in these accidents. Overspeeding is the greatest problem point in road traffic safety issues such as speeding, drunk driving and the use of passive road traffic safety gear. Considering the fatal road accidents in Hungary, it has become evident that the number of absolute overspeeding cases is significantly increasing. Overspeeding plays a significant role in the severity of the accident, especially in cases of unprotected travellers, pedestrians and cyclists. Traffic control is part of influencing the awareness and education of safe travelling. Police traffic control and accident prevention programmes aim to decrease the number of victims of road traffic accidents.

Opis:
The study of a graph theory model of certain telecommunications network problems lead to the concept of path-pairability, a variation of weak linkedness of graphs. A graph G is k-path-pairable if for any set of 2k distinct vertices, si, ti, 1 ≤ i ≤ k, there exist pairwise edge-disjoint si, ti-paths in G, for 1 ≤ i ≤ k. The path-pairability number is the largest k such that G is k-path-pairable. Cliques, stars, the Cartesian product of two cliques (of order at least three) are ‘fully pairable’; that is ⌊n/2⌋-pairable, where n is the order of the graph. Here we determine the path-pairability number of the Cartesian product of two stars.

Opis:
The Slovak Pinzgau breed faces the bottleneck effect and the loss of diversity due to unequal use of founders and a significant population decline. Further population size reduction can lead to serious problems. Information obtained here and in other studies from high-throughput genotyping of 179 individuals was used to characterise genetic diversity and differentiation of Slovak Pinzgau, Austrian Pinzgau, Cika and Piedmontese cattle by Bayesian clustering algorithm. A gene flow network for the clusters estimated from admixture results was produced. The low estimate of genetic differentiation (FST) in Pinzgau cattle populations indicated that differentiation among these populations is low, particularly owing to a common historical origin and high gene flow. Changes in the log marginal likelihood indicated Austrian Pinzgau as the most similar breed to Slovak Pinzgau. All populations except the Piedmontese one displayed two ways of gene flow among populations, indicating that Piedmontese cattle was involved in producing of the analysed breeds while these breeds were not involved in creation of Piedmontese. Genetic evaluation represents an important tool in breeding and cattle selection. It is more strategically important than ever to preserve as much of the livestock diversity as possible, to ensure a prompt and proper response to the needs of future generations. Information provided by the fine-scale genetic characterization of this study clearly shows that there is a difference in genetic composition of Slovak and Austrian populations, as well as the Cika and Piedmontese cattle. Despite its population size, the Slovak Pinzgau cattle have a potential to serve as a basic gene reserve of this breed, with European and world-wide importance.

Opis:
Sándor Petőfi was the greatest poet of the Hungarian romantic literature, but aft er his participation in the events of the Hungarian revolution of 1848 he became the legendary fi gure of the national liberty and republicanism. Petőfi ’s mysterious disappearance aft er the batt le of Segesvár further confi rmed the importance of his personal heroism and at the end of the 19th Century Petőfi became an emblematic fi gure of the national freedom and independence not just in Hungary, but in Europe too.Petőfi ’s cult was signifi cant in the period between the two world wars too, mainly at the time of hundredth anniversary of his birth. A memorial banknote was issued on this occasion and were staged a national commemoration in 1925.In the communist era Petőfi was the idol of the radical revolutionary republicans, who fought against the members of the oppressive ruling classes. His glorious and heroic image became one of the fi gures of the Hungarian communist pantheon. But also the anti-dictatorship young intellectuals viewed Petőfi as a role model and founded Petőfi Circle prepared for the events of the revolution of 1956.Until the end of the seventies Petőfi became again the emblematic historical hero of the antiregime democratic opposition movement. Th e square at Petőfi statue was the scene of many demonstrations. Th is square was also the favorite commemoration place also of the Hungarianliberal political party aft er the Hungarian political transition in the last decade of 20th Century.
