Opis:
The number of accidents on rural roads still represents a higher percentage of accidents than those occurring on built-up areas and motorways. Many countries are working on the definition and implementation of strategies that relate to the improvement of traffic safety on rural roads. This paper presents an approach to the analysis of traffic safety and the frequency of traffic accidents. The developed model is based on reliability theory and the application of the reliability reallocation model on data concerning traffic accidents that have occurred on rural roads. To test the model, a state road made up of 20 sections of a total length of 255 km was selected. The analysis of traffic safety on the observed road covers the period between the years 2005 and 2013 (this period is divided into two intervals 2005–2009 and 2010–2013). Following the basic analyses of traffic safety that are positioned in a space-time coordinate system, the next step is the reliability analysis and the ranking of the section. In this paper, the reallocation method was observed from the aspect of the reduction in accident frequency by 10% and the application of the ARINC apportionment technique.

Opis:
The Lece-Radan area of the Oligo-Miocene magmatic complex (former Tethyan active margin, southern Serbia) contains more or less altered volcanic and/or pyroclastic rocks of predominant andesitic, andesitic-dacitic, to dacitic composition. Alteration seen at exposures varies in type and intensity. Samples with documented alunitization were collected from hydrothermally altered zones embedded within local geological units of Oligo-Miocene age. Mineralogical-chemical study has confirmed for the first time the presence of alunite group minerals (thirty-one occurrences) in this area. The minerals of the alunite group described exhibit different compositions that are remarkably consistent with both different alteration types and host lithologies. Six samples characterized in detail show the following solid solutions: Alu52Nal43Hal5, Alu48Nal40Hal12, Nal48Alu35Hal17>/sub>, Nal44Alu35Hal21, Alu36Hal33Nal31 and Hal46Alu27Nal27 (Alu, Nal and Sch refer to alunite, natroalunite and schlossmacherite, respectively). The cross-cutting alunite-bearing fracture pattern and its density indicate a high-sulphidation epithermal palaeoenvironment. The alunite discovery is consistent with the structural setting (fracture frequency) emphasizing its dominant role in controlling the local mineralization.

Opis:
NTC thermistors are frequently used low in cost temperature sensors which provide some of the most desirable sensing features. However, due to the nonlinear static transfer function their sensitivity decreases with temperature increase, causing lower measurement accuracy in some regions of the measurement range. This paper proposes a method for NTC thermistor nonlinearity compensation using a Wheatstone bridge and a novel dual-stage single-flash piecewise-linear ADC. Both conversion stages are performed using the same flash ADC of a novel design based on a reduced number of comparators employed. In this manner, simpler design, lower production costs, higher compactness and lower power consumption of the linearizing ADC, are achieved. The proposed linearizing method is tested on the Vishay NTCLE413E2103F520L thermistor, in the range from 0°C to 100°C, and the obtained results confirmed the effectiveness of the method in measurement accuracy improvement: when the flash ADC of 10-bit resolution is employed the accuracy obtained is 7.4747 ·10-5°C.
