    W artykule przedstawiono problematykę modelowania ruchu żeglugi śródlądowej w Delcie Wisły. Podano definicję modelowania strumieni ruchu oraz wskazano na konieczność badań modelowych i dokładnych badań obser-wacyjnych. Scharakteryzowano model ruchu żeglugi śródlądowej. Przedstawiono przykładowe wyniki modelowania strumienia ruchu w Delcie Wisły.
    In the article issues of the modelling of the movement of the inland waterway shipping in the Vistula delta were presented. A definition of the modelling of traffic flows was given as well as they pointed out to the need for model tests and an thorough observational studies. A model of the move of the inland waterway shipping was characterized. Model results of the modelling of the movement in the Vistula delta were presented.

    Waterborne transport is the cheapest, the safest and the least harmful to the natural environment. Restoring regular waterway cargo transport will require revitalisation of the existing trans-shipment and logistics infrastructure for commercial inland ports and building new. Transport policy makers must remember that waterborne transport is the most ecological type of transport. It produces only 10% of the gases emitted to the atmosphere by equivalent road transport. Its energy intensity constitutes 30% of the energy intensity of road transport. This article addresses the issues related to inland navigation on the lower Vistula, presenting the river as a waterway, along with its quality and general conditions for navigation. It describes the arrangement and condition of water infrastructure, with particular focus on river ports and the inland waterway fleet.
    Transport wodny jest najtańszy, najbezpieczniejszy i najmniej uciążliwy dla środowiska naturalnego. Przywrócenie regularnej żeglugi towarowej pociągnie za sobą rewitalizację istniejącej i budowę nowej infrastruktury przeładunkowo-logistycznej śródlądowych portów handlowych. Kreując politykę transportową, trzeba pamiętać, że transport wodny jest najbardziej ekologicznym rodzajem transportu. Wytwarza zaledwie 10% emisji gazów wydalanych do atmosfery przez równoważny transport kołowy. Jego energochłonność to 30% energochłonności transportu kołowego. W artykule została poruszona tematyka związana z żeglugą śródlądową na dolnej Wiśle. Zaprezentowana została Wisła jako droga wodna, jej jakość oraz opis ogólnych uwarunkowań żeglugowych. Przedstawiono opis układu i stanu infrastruktury wodnej ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem portów rzecznych i floty śródlądowej.

W artykule zawarto charakterystykę Dolnej Wisły, koncepcję rozwoju drogi wodnej na odcinku Bydgoszcz - Gdańsk. Przedstawione są bariery utrudniające rozwój transportu wodnego i argumentacja przemawiająca za aktywizacją dróg wodnych w Polsce. Przedstawiono alternatywny transport do przewozów ładunków drogą lądową. Dolna Wisła stanowi bardzo ważny odcinek dla żeglugi śródlądowej. Stanowi on część międzynarodowych dróg wodnych E40 i E70 oraz może spełniać ważną funkcję transportową dla towarów masowych lub w kontenerach na odcinku od centrum Polski do portów Gdańsk i Gdynia. Zaprezentowano drogę wodną Wisły jako łańcuch w ogólnopolskiej sieci transportowej z wykorzystaniem terminali kontenerowych na istniejących nabrzeżach w Porcie Gdańsk i nowym terminalem w Bydgoszczy.
    The water transport is cheapest, safest and least troublesome for the natural environment. Restoring the regular goods navigation will result behind himself in the revitalization existing and construction of new infrastructure handling-logistic of inland commercial ports. Creating the transport policy, it is necessary to remember that the water transport is the most ecological type of transport. He is producing the 10% of the emissions of gases expelled to the atmosphere by the equivalent wheeled transport scarcely. His energy consumption is a 30% of the energy consumption of the wheeled transport. A characterization of the Lower Vistula was included in the article, concept of development of the watercourse at the part Bydgoszcz - Gdańsk. Barriers hindering the development of the water transport and argumentation speaking for the activation of watercourses in Poland are presented. An alternative transport was described for carriages of cargo overland. The Lower Vistula constitutes the very important length for the inland waterway shipping. He constitutes the part of international E40 watercourses and E70 as well as Gdańsk and Gdynia can fulfill the transport important function for bulk goods or in containers at the part from the center of Poland to ports. The presented watercourse of the Vistula, as the chain in the all-Polish transport network with using container terminals on existing wharves in the Port Gdańsk and with new terminal in Bydgoszcz.

    W artykule omówiona została organizacja procesu transportowego w relacji Gdańsk – Płock. Przedstawiono inwentaryzację istniejącej infrastruktury punktowej oraz liniowej wybranych rodzajów transportu wraz z analizą obecnych połączeń transportowych między miastami. Przeanalizowano pilotażowy, badawczo-promocyjny rejs kontenerowy po Wiśle i transport ładunku nienormatywnego w celu identyfikacji utrudnień związanych proces przeładunki na drogach wodnych. Na podstawie analizy wielokryterialnej alternatywnych przewozów ładunków, wyznaczono najbardziej optymalne rozwiązanie zawierające planowaną trasę przejazdu, wybrane środki transportu i urządzenia przeładunkowe.
    The organization of the transport process in the Gdańsk-Płock report discusses the inventory of the existing point and line infrastructure of selected transport modes together with an analysis of the current transport connections between cities. A pilot, research and promotional voyage on the Vistula River and the transport of non-standard cargo were analyzed to identify the difficulties associated with the transhipment process on waterways. On the basis of the analysis of multicriteria alternative transport of loads, the most optimal solution for the planned route, the selected means of transport and the transshipment facilities were determined.

    The article presents the results of conducted research on actual navigation conditions, traffic intensity, accidents and incidents for the part of the Vistula River as a justification for introducing the inland waterway navigation system in the Lower Vistula . Two variants of the implementation of the river information system were presented and characterized.

    Over the past years, the role of inland waterway transport has increased compared to other modes of transport. The increasing intensity of the inland vessel traffic significantly affects the safety of navigation. The article analyses the main causes of accidents and incidents that occurred on the Odra Waterway and Lower Vistula. The authors have classified those accidents and suggested possible directions for the development of inland waterway management in order to improve its efficiency. Navigationally critical areas in the lower section of the rivers Odra and Vistula have been indicated. These areas should be taken into account in long-term planning of the inland shipping development to ensure transport safety.
