The paper concerns the issue of using social media in small and medium sized enterprises. Many authors argue that there is a unique relationship between the social media and SMEs in the economic sphere. The social media uniquely impact the market in the marketing platform to increase sales, reduce costs and increase profitability. Also, social media enable the direct communication with clients and its adoption by firms has generally increased over time. However, little is known about how small firms use these digital technologies. Furthermore, there are not many publications about the methods of implementation of social media in small companies. Therefore, the study carried out in this research has developed a conceptual framework of implementing Social Media in small businesses. Moreover, readers can find information on the benefits of using these tools and some recommendations for effective implementation to improve business.
Artykuł dotyczy zagadnienia wykorzystania mediów społecznościowych w małych i średnich przedsiębiorstwach. Wielu autorów twierdzi, że istnieje ścisły związek między mediami społecznościowymi a MŚP w sferze gospodarczej. Media społecznościowe mają wyjątkowy wpływ na rynek w platformie marketingowej- zwiększają sprzedaż, obniżają koszty i polepszają rentowność. Ponadto media społecznościowe umożliwiają bezpośrednią komunikację z klientami. Jednak niewiele wiadomo o tym, jak małe firmy korzystają z tych technologii cyfrowych. Ponadto nie ma wielu publikacji na temat metod wdrażania mediów społecznościowych w małych firmach. W badaniu przeprowadzonym w ramach tego opracowania zaproponowano sposoby wdrażania mediów społecznościowych w małych firmach. Co więcej, czytelnicy mogą znaleźć informacje na temat korzyści płynących z używania tych narzędzi oraz zalecenia dotyczące skutecznej implementacji w celu usprawnienia działalności biznesu.

This paper aims at developing a real-time, robust, and reliable behaviors for an omnidirectional soccer robot, can be used in crowded dynamically-changing environments. The soccer robot system consists of highly coordinated operations and movements so as to fulfill specific objectives, even under unfavorable situations. The associated issues are position control, velocity control and sensing information in addition to the need for imitating the human-like decision. The proposed method considers not only the kinematics of the robot but also its dynamics. Moreover, a control structure is designed and several behaviors for a soccer robot are proposed. Image processing, recognition and target following algorithm are illustrated through experiments.

Opis:
Purpose: The present study aims to apply soft computing techniques, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and M5P model tree, to predict the ultimate bearing capacity of the H plan shaped skirted footing on the sand Design/methodology/approach: A total of 162 laboratory test data for the regular plan shaped (square, circular, rectangular, and strip (up to L/B = 2.5) skirted footing were collected from the literature to develop the soft computing-based models. These models were later modified for the H Plan shaped skirted footing with the introduction of the multiplication factor. The input variables chosen for the regular plan shaped footings were skirt depth to width of the footing ratio (Ds/B), friction angle of the sand (o), the ratio of the interface friction angle-to-friction angle of sand (5/o), and length-to-width (L/B) ratio of the footing. The output is the bearing capacity ratio (BCR, a ratio of the bearing capacity of the skirted footing to the bearing capacity of un-skirted footing). Findings: Sensitivity analysis was carried out to see the impact of the individual variable on the BCR). The sensitivity results reveal that the skirt depth to width of the footing ratio is the primary variable affecting the BCR. Finally, the performance of the developed soft computing models was assessed using six statistical parameters. The results from the statistical parameters reveal that model developed using ANN was performing superior to the one prepared using M5P model tree technique for the prediction of the ultimate bearing capacity of H plan shaped skirted footing on sand. Research limitations/implications: The model equations are developed with experimental laboratory data. Hence, these equations need further improvement by using field data. However, until now there no field data have been available to include in the present data set. Practical implications: These proposed model equations can be used to predict the bearing capacity of the H-shaped footing with the help of Ds/B, o, S/o and L/B without performing the laboratory experiments. Originality/value: There is no such model equation that was developed so far for the H-shaped skirted footings. Hence, an attempt was made in this article to predict the bearing capacity of the H-shaped footing by using available experimental data with the help of soft computing techniques.

Opis:
The present study makes an effort to understand the damage of earthen dams under static and seismic loading condition. To make the investigation more realistic, behaviour of earthen dams considering the occurrence of a phreatic line indicating the submerged zone due to seepage within the dam body is considered. In case of earthen dams, homogeneous or nonhomogeneous, the consideration of the occurrence of a phreatic line or seepage line through the dam body is an important part of the earthen dam design methodology. The impervious material properties in the submerged zone below the phreatic line due to seepage may differ a lot in magnitudes as compared to the value of the same materials lying above this line. Hence, to have the exact stress distribution scenarios within the earthen dam, the different material properties above and below the phreatic line are considered in this present study. The study is first carried out by two-dimensional as well as three-dimensional finite element analysis under static loading condition. The work is further extended to observe the effect of seepage due to the consideration of the phreatic line on dynamic characteristics of earthen dams. Free vibration analysis and seismic analysis based on the Complete Quadratic Combination (CQC) method by considering twodimensional and three-dimensional modeling are carried out to present the frequencies, mode shapes and the stress distribution pattern of the earthen dam.

Arsenic (As) is a metalloid that causes severe water pollution due to its extravagant toxicity. Ceriodaphnia dubia, a freshwater crustacean, was selected as a model system to evaluate the degree of time and dosage dependent acute toxicity caused by pentavalent As [As(V)]. C. dubia were collected from a natural pond and treated with different concentrations of As(V) for 24 hours and 48 hours. For both 24 hours and 48 hours treatment periods, the mortality rates were increased significantly ( P< 0.05) with increase in As(V) concentrations. Simultaneously, it was also observed that As(V) - induced mortality in C. dubia also depended on the time of exposure to the metalloid. We propose this model as a low-cost technique towards rapid screening of water quality in relation to As contamination.
