Opis:
The $K_{β} // K_{α}$ X-ray intensity ratios of Co, Ni, Cu and Zn in metalophthalocyanines complexes have been studied. Co, Ni, Cu and Zn elements have been excited by using 59.5 keV photons emitted by 50 mCi $\text{}^{241}Am$ radioactive source. K X-rays emitted by samples have been counted by a Si(Li) detector with resolution 0.16 keV at 5.9 keV. We have found that $K_{β} // K_{α}$ X-ray intensity ratios of Co, Ni, Zn, and Cu complexes have changed depending on chemical structures of Co, Ni, Zn and Cu. The measured values have been compared with the theoretical predictions and experimental values of pure elements.

Opis:
This paper presents a novel fully differential high-speed and high-resolution Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) based on new reliable hybrid R-C technique. In the proposed idea the four LSB bits and eight MSB bits are implemented as a resistor string and new merged capacitor technique respectively. Applying the suggested method the SNDR and Effective Number of Bits (ENOB) of the proposed DAC achieve 70.22dB and 11.41 bit at the 1.25GS/s sampling rate correspondingly. In the proposed method the total capacitors of the 8 MSB bits are reduced up to 78% compared to the conventional one noticeably. As a result, the power consumption and speed of the suggested DAC are decreased and increased respectively. Moreover, the total power consumption of the proposed DAC is 2.27mW with the power supply of 1.8 volts as well. Meanwhile, for the correctness of the proposed 12bit DAC, 200 iterations in transient Monte-Carlo analysis (parasitic capacitance included ([symbol] mismatch = 1.2%)), and the SNDR simulation results versus different input frequency at fS=1.25GS/s sampling rate are applied too. The maximum Integral Nonlinearity (INL) and the maximum Differential Nonlinearity (DNL) are -0.47/+0.35LSB and -0.42/+0.29 LSB respectively. The proposed DAC structure is simulated in all process corners and performed using the HSPICE BSIM3 model of a 0.18μm CMOS technology.

Opis:
An explicit analysis conducted on the crack behavior in chirurgical cement (Polymethylmethacrylate – PMMA) used for Total Hip Prosthesis (THP) is of great importance in collecting information about the nature of the phenomenon of loosening of the cement application. The rupture of the orthopedic cement is practically the main cause of this loosening. Understanding different rupture mechanisms give a great value in advancing the durability of the cemented total prosthesis. The purpose of this study is to analyse cracks behavior, initiated in the cement that links the femoral-stem with the bone, using the Finite Element Analysis Method (FEM). The present study brings into focus the variation of the stress intensity factor in modes I, II and III. This rupture criterion is used according to the nature of crack, its orientation and its location in the orthopedic cement. At first, the level and distribution of the equivalent von Mises stress is analysed, which is induced in the medial, proximal and distal parts of the bone cement. Then, the behavior of different geometric forms of an elliptical crack is evaluated which are located and initiated within the body of these three parts.

Broadband shot signal data are analyzed from the SWARM'95 experiment to investigate acoustic variability in presence of internal solitons. A 10 to 15 minute temporal variations in the intensity of the received signals were observed. These temporal variations are azimuthally dependent on variability of water column in the presence of internal solitary waves. These fluctuations should be explained by significant horizontal refraction (3D-effects) taking place when orientation of acoustic track is close to direction of the wave front of internal solitons. Analysis on the base of both equation of vertical modes/horizontal rays and PE in horizontal plane is carried out, good agreement between theoretical calculations and experimental data is obtained.

Opis:
Synchrotron X-ray computer microtomography was used to analyze the microstructure of rose peduncles. Samples from three rose cultivars, differing in anatomy, were scanned to study the relation between tissue structure and peduncles mechanical strength. Additionally, chlorophyll fluorescence imaging and conventional light microscopy was applied to quantify possible irradiation-induced damage to plant physiology and tissue structure. The spatial resolution of synchrotron X-ray computer microtomography was sufficiently high to investigate the complex tissues of intact rose peduncles without the necessity of any preparation. However, synchrotron X-radiation induces two different types of damage on irradiated tissues. First, within a few hours after first X-ray exposure, there is a direct physical destruction of cell walls. In addition, a slow and delayed destruction of chlorophyll and, consequently, of photosynthetic activity occurred within hours/ days after the exposure. The results indicate that synchrotron X-ray computer microtomography is well suited for three-dimensional visualization of the microstructure of rose peduncles. However, in its current technique, synchrotron X-ray computer microtomography is not really non-destructive but induce tissue damage. Hence, this technique needs further optimization before it can be applied for time-series investigations of living plant materials.

Opis:
The purpose of the present review was a comparison of the abortions caused by EAV and EHV-1 viruses over the 34 years. A total of 452 tissues samples from aborted fetuses (347) or foals (105) stillborn or newborn that died within 72 hours were investigated. The material for the examinations came from different farms located throughout Poland. The tissue homogenates were examined by using virus isolation test in RK-13 and Vero cell lines and the cytopathic agent was confirmed as EHV-1 by the direct fluorescent antibody test or as EAV by the indirect fluorescent antibody test. The study indicated that EAV was isolated (104 cases, 23%) almost as equally often as EHV-1 (116 cases, 25.6%). Both, equid herpesvirus-associated abortion and the abortion induced by EAV were characterized by cyclicity. The percentage of EAV and EHV-1 isolation alternately reduced and increased, but the increase of isolation of one virus was accompanied by the decrease of the other. The domination of one virus over the other occurred in cycles of a few years.

Opis:
The technology of wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) has been applied to band selective interference cancellation system (ICS) repeaters. To inspect the telecommunication quality of the systems, quality engineers must check the shape of the signals at the corresponding frequency band of the repeaters. However, measuring the signal quality is a repetitive manual task which requires much inspection time and high costs. In the case of small-sized samples, such as the example of an ICS repeater system, Bayesian approaches have been employed to improve the estimation accuracy by incorporating prior information on the parameters of the model in consideration. This research proposes a virtual method of quality inspection for products using a correlation structure of measurement data, mainly in a Bayesian regression framework. The Bayesian regression model derives prior information from historical measurement data to predict measurements of other frequency bandwidths by exploiting the correlation structure of each measurement data. Empirical results show the potential for reducing inspection costs and time by predicting the values of adjoining frequency bandwidths through measured data of a frequency bandwidth in the course of quality inspections of ICS repeater systems.

This study was conducted to investigate the degree of bioremediation that would occur in the samples of soil polluted with raw and treated crude petroleum (oil) with the aid of Aspergillus niger (fungi) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (bacteria). This was achieved by monitoring the Organic carbon content in the soil over 45 days and pH over 25 days. Four systems of 500 g soil were polluted with 40 g treated crude petroleum, while four systems were contaminated with 40 g raw crude petroleum. The eight systems were labeled accordingly. Two systems for raw crude control and treated crude control (RCC and TCC) were left as control, two systems for raw crude Aspergillus niger and treated crude Aspergillus niger (RCA and TCA) were treated with Aspergillus niger only, two systems for raw crude Pseudomonas aeruginosa and treated crude Pseudomonas aeruginosa (RCP and TCP) were treated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa only and the last two systems for raw crude Aspergillus niger and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (RCAP and TCAP) were treated with both Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Aspergillus niger. At the end of the bioremediation period, the results obtained showed that the pH was not particularly a solid parameter to estimate the degree of bioremediation. This is because a proper trend in the results obtained could not be determined. Additionally, it was observed that Aspergillus niger (fungi) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (bacteria) alone and separate remediate raw crude polluted soil better than treated crude polluted soil. This was determined by the TOC (Total Organic Carbon) values on the 45th day of the experiment.

To investigate the importance of the role of type III solar burst can potentially form a type IV solar burst, the literature review of both bursts is outlined in detailed. The orientation and position of AR1890 make the explosion of a class C-solar flare is not directly to the Earth. Nevertheless, it is clear that the interactions of others sunspots such as AR1893,AR1895,AR1896, AR1897 and AR1898 should be studied in detail to understand what makes the type III burst formed before the type IV solar burst.

This paper considers a chain ratio-cum-dual to ratio type estimator for estimating population mean of the study variate using two auxiliary variates under double (two-phase) sampling procedure, when the information on another additional auxiliary variate is available along with the main auxiliary variate. The asymptotically optimum estimators (AOEs) in the class are identified in two different cases with their bias and variances. The optimum values of the first phase and second phase sample sizes have been obtained for the fixed cost of survey. Theoretical and empirical studies have also been done to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed estimator with respect to strategies which utilized the information on two auxiliary variates.

Opis:
A supply chain system has been investigated in which a single manufacturer procures raw materials from a single supplier, processes them to produce finished products, and then delivers the products to a single retailer. The customer’s demand rate is assumed to be time-sensitive in nature (ramp type) that allows two-phase variation in the demand and production rate. Our adoption of ramp type demand reflects a real market demand for a newly launched product. Shortages are allowed with partial backlogging of demand (only for the retailer), i.e. the rest represent lost sales. The effects of inflation of the cost parameters and deterioration are also considered separately. We show that the total cost function is convex. Using this convexity, a simple algorithm is presented to determine the optimal order quantity and optimal cycle time for the total cost function. The results are discussed with numerical examples and particular cases of the model discussed briefly. A sensitivity analysis of the optimal solution with respect to the parameters of the system is carried out.
