In the present study, AISI 1020 plain carbon steel was surface alloyed with preplaced 50%Fe-10%W-40%B alloying powders using a tungsten-inert gas (TIG) heat source. Microstructure, hardness, and wear resistance of the surface alloyed layer were investigated. Following the surface alloying, conventional characterization techniques such as optical microscopy (OM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) were used to study the phase and microstructural examinations of the alloyed surfaces. Hardness measurements were performed across the alloyed zones, and wear properties of the alloyed surfaces were evaluated using a ball-on-disc wear test method. Hardness values of the phases formed in the alloyed layer are changing between 620±30 $HV_{0.1}$ and 2095±254 $HV_{0.1}$. The major phases formed in the surface alloyed layer were Fe₂B, FeB and FeW₂B₂. Wear test were realized against Alumina ball under the loads of 2.5 N, 5 N and 10 N at the sliding speed of 0.1 m/s for 250 m sliding distance. The friction coefficient of the 50%Fe-10%W-40%B alloyed steel surface is changing between 0.70 and 0.79 depending on applied loads. The wear rates of the surface alloyed steel ranged from $4.01 \times 10^{-5}$ mm³/m to $4.14 \times 10^{-4}$ mm³/m.

The role of cytochrome P450 monooxygenase in pyrethroid resistance was studied in different strains of the cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera, from India. Filed collected strains of Nagpur and Delhi were compared to the laboratory reared population. The results showed a high resistance to deltamethrin, α-cypermethrin, and β-cyfluthrin. The results also showed that this resistance could be reduced by using piperonyl butoxide (PBO). The Nagpur and Delhi strains were found to have a 2.40 and 1.79 fold higher monooxygenase activity compared to a susceptible strain. A strong, positive correlation between monooxygenase activity and pyrethroid resistance was observed (r = 0.86 - 0.98). The relative expression of the housekeeping gene, EF-1α, and three P450 genes, was studied in the 5th instar larval midgut of the three strains. Out of the three P450 genes examined, expression of CYP6B7 mRNA was not detected in the midgut of the susceptible strain though it was highly expressed in the resistant strains. The midgut of the Nagpur strain had a 2.60 fold overexpression of CYP6B7 mRNA compared to the moderately resistant, Delhi strain. The mRNA of CYP4G8 and CYP6B2 were not overexpressed in either the Nagpur or Delhi strain. The results indicated that the elevated cytochrome P450 monooxygenase activity is associated with pyrethroid resistance in Indian strains of H. armigera, and CYP6B7 could be the P450 form responsible for pyrethroid resistance.

In this paper, preferentially oriented (002) ZnO thin films have been grown on Si (100) and glass substrates using radio frequency magnetron sputtering. The dependence of the quality of the ZnO thin films at different substrate temperatures on the growth is studied. A ZnO thin film with c-axis-oriented würtzite structure is obtained at a growth temperature from 200 to 400°C. X-ray diffraction shows that the full width at half maximum θ -2θ of (002) ZnO/Si is located at approximately 34.42°, which is used to infer the grain size that is found to be 17 nm to 19.7 nm. The FWHM is 9.5° to 8° in rocking curve mode, from which the crystalline quality has been determined. The texture degree demonstrates the improvement in quality with the increase of substrate temperature, which is best at 400°C. The band gap extracted by UV transmittance spectrum has been identified as 3.2 eV at 400°C. The electrical characteristics via C-V and I-V measurements on the basis of the heterojunction thermal emission model confirm the domination of high-density grain boundary layer existing at the interface. The transport currents indicate to the presence of space-charge-limited current and trap-charge-limited current mechanisms.

Opis:
The purpose of the research is to improve the processes of conservation indicators of quality petroleum products (POL). As a hypothesis, it was assumed that the quality of fuel depends on its main quality parameters that most strongly vary during storage and transportation. The methods were applied which are used at the theoretical level of research, such as abstraction, deduction, analysis and synthesis, etc. We presented the main problems of pollution of oil. Moreover, we provided indicators of physical and chemical properties of diesel fuel and motor oil, which characterize their performance and the list of used additives. We analysed the scientific and patent work. We provided solutions to the problem. Correct storage and use of fuel will help maintain its quality parameters and ensure safety and durability of machinery.
Celem badań jest poprawa wskaźników procesów ochrony jakości produktów naftowych (paliw i smarów). Sformułowano następującą hipotezę, że jakość paliw i smarów zależy od jego głównych parametrów jakościowych, które najsilniej zmieniają się podczas przechowywania i trans-portu. Użyto metody stosowanej na poziomie badań teoretycznych, takich jak abstrakcja, dedukcja, analiza i synteza, etc. Głównym problemem zanieczyszczenia ropą naftową, są wskaźniki właściwości fizycznych i chemicznych oleju napędowego i olejów silnikowych, charakteryzujące ich wydajność oraz listę zastosowanych dodatków. Zatem właściwe przechowywanie i wykorzystanie paliw i smarów pomoże utrzymać ich parametry jakościowe i zapewnić bezpieczeństwo oraz trwałość urządzeń pracujących przy ich użyciu.

A field experiment was conducted at Landmark University Omu-Aran, Nigeria from June to November 2017 and repeated at the same time in the year 2018 on a nematode infested soil to evaluate the effects of different amounts of Siam weed compost on the performance of root-knot nematode (RKN) infested tomato. The compost was applied a week before planting as soil amendment at the amount of 0.0, 0.5, 1.5, and 2.0 t·ha-1, while carbofuran was applied at the rate of 3.0 kg·ha-1. Four weeks old tomato seedlings cultivar ‘Roma VF’, which is susceptible to RKN, was transplanted to already prepared soil. Results of the experiment showed that the compost, especially in the amount 2 t·ha-1 and carbofuran at 3 kg·ha-1, brought about significant reduction of the population of RKN in soil and roots, and a significant increase in the growth and yield of tomato. The result of the experiment showed that Siam compost can be used for the managing root-knot nematodes in tomato cultivation, as an environmentally safe factor.
