This article presents an overview on the history of offensive actions by the military counterespionage of the II Republic of Poland. This topic has not, however, been presented in full, but was limited to presenting some selected missions taken against the USSR secret service. The idea of active measures was, however, discussed in detail, and the circumstances of creating an organizational development of the special unit, which prepared inspirational material, used in turn by counterespionage local units and military secret service of the II Department of the Main General Headquarters of the Polish Army, was presented.
Niniejszy artykuł jest poświęcony dziejom działań ofensywnych kontrwywiadu wojskowego II Rzeczypospolitej. Temat ten nie został jednak przedstawiony kompleksowo, lecz zawężony do ukazania kilku przykładowych rozpracowań prowadzonych przeciwko służbom wywiadowczym ZSRR. Obszernie natomiast omówiono ideę działań aktywnych oraz przedstawiono okoliczności powstania i rozwój organizacyjny specjalistycznej komórki przygotowującej materiał inspiracyjny, który następnie był wykorzystywany przez jednostki terenowe kontrwywiadu i wywiadu wojskowego Oddziału II Sztabu Generalnego Głównego Wojska Polskiego.

The Balkan peninsula on account of its peculiar location and the terrain constitutes the unusually interesting object of the research on military conflicts. Forms of operations applied in conflicts, which took place in the range border of the geographical-political Balkans, let read wars run in this area in the course of a few hundred years. Based on experience resulting from the conflicts of Balkan and other antagonisms, which occurred on the Peninsula during the last century, it is possible to state that the conducted research on meaning of this area can constitute the initial base to next research on Balkan military conflicts. Furthermore, the terrain and its components always serve as a toll to pinpoint the indispensable measures to conduct the wars.

Opis:
After the Cold War, analysts in many countries were unable to accurately rationalise the emerging threats that did not fit into the contemporaneous concepts and could not be clearly classified. The search for a new canon of martial art led military people, polemologists and experts to define the phenomenon of new wars as conflicts referred to as „hybrid wars”. However, this attempt turned out to be insufficient, as it did not allow to unequivocally determine the nature of future wars and conflicts, especially in view of the ambiguity of events in Ukraine or North Africa. The paper is devoted to the analysis of what is important from the point of view of the theory and practice of the art of war, i.e. the Western and Russian authors’ views on the phenomenon that combines a variety of forms and methods of conventional and irregular (guerrilla) actions against a historical and contemporary backdrop.
Po zimnej wojnie analitycy w wielu krajach nie mogli dokładnie zracjonalizować pojawiających się zagrożeń, które nie pasowały do ówczesnych koncepcji i nie można było ich jednoznacznie sklasyfikować. Poszukiwania nowego kanonu sztuki wojennej doprowadziły wojskowych, polemologów oraz ekspertów do zdefiniowania zjawiska nowych wojen jako konfliktów określanych mianem „wojen hybrydowych”. Jednakże próba ta okazała się niewystarczająca – nie pozwala jednoznacznie określić charakteru przyszłych wojen i konfliktów, zwłaszcza wobec niejednoznaczności wydarzeń na Ukrainie czy w Afryce Północnej. Artykuł został poświęcony – istotnej z punktu widzenia teorii i praktyki sztuki wojennej – analizie poglądów zachodnich i rosyjskich autorów na zjawisko łączące różne formy i metody działań konwencjonalnych i nieregularnych (partyzanckich) w perspektywie historycznej i współczesnej.

Iron and steel raw materials market evolves rapidly. Global mine production of iron ores and concentrates, metallurgical coal, pig iron and crude steel exceeded 1 billion tonnes at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries or in the first 20years of new millennium. International trade in these fields, as well as trade of such products as coke, ferroalloys and scrap, is also huge. Demand growth rate for steel raw materials, finished and semi-finished steel, and cast iron products is currently the highest among other mineral raw materials. Almost 90% of iron ore supplies come from Australia and Brazil, and the dominant consumer - China - is responsible for almost use. A geographic evolution in the steel production and the consumption of derived products has taken place. China has grown from a secondary crude steel producer and secondary steel products user to a leader with over 50% global share of steel production and a leading exporter of finished products. The iron and steel market has concentrated in the East and South Asia due to high consumption of imported steel raw materials in Japan and South Korea, rapid demand growth in India, investment in energy-efficient scrap processing in Turkey and Iran, while simultaneous reductions in the production capacity of the steel industry in the European Union, former Soviet Union and the US. Market disruption due to Covid-19pandemic appears to be short-lived, and China has strengthened its position. In the first half of 2021, the prices of steel products increased dramatically, which immediately resulted in the change in prices of apartments and other constructions based on this most widely used metal.

Opis:
Tantalum, despite the low consumption level, is one of the strategically important metals for the world economy. In terms of the world production volume, it places oneself on a distant position; however, its price was one of the highest at the beginning of the 21st century. Tantalum is a transition metal with a high melting point and high chemical resistance, which determines the spectrum of its applications. It is used mainly in the capacitors production, sputtering and as an additive for superalloys. The 21stcentury is a period of noticeable changes in the structure of quantitative supplies, consumption centres and price fluctuation. There are numerous but small centres of primary production (artisanal mines) in Africa. Sources of tantalum raw-materials (mineral deposits and its reserves), basic factors determining the economic situation on the market, substitution possibilities and the prices evolution are presented and assessed in the paper. Marginal significance of the economy of tantalum raw materials for Poland is mentioned.
