    Opis:
    Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie obrazu kobiety w „teologii ciała” Jana Pawła II. Znakiem naszych czasów jest próba relatywizowania znaczenia natury człowieka w imię równości między mężczyzną i kobietą. Wydaje się, że najbardziej satysfakcjonująca odpowiedź na tego rodzaju podejście może być dana poprzez wyjaśnienie prawdziwego znaczenia natury ludzkiej ucieleśnionej w mężczyźnie i kobiecie. Po opisaniu podstaw chrześcijańskiej antropologii, zaprezentowanych przez Jana Pawła II podczas środowych katechez na temat teologii ciała, artykuł ukazuje specyfikę ludzkiej natury związanej z obrazem Bożym w nas. Następnie autor przytacza pierwotne ludzkie doświadczenia jak samotność, jedność i nagość. Każde z nich objawia głębię tajemnicy ludzkiej natury, która jest taka sama u mężczyzny i kobiety, chociaż wyraża się na dwa różne sposoby. Kobieta, uczestnicząc wraz z mężczyzną we wspólnej ludzkiej naturze, ukazuje specyfikę związaną z jej „geniuszem”, którym się dzieli przeżywając swoje życie jako dar i ofiarę dla innych.
    The purpose of the present article is to present the theme ofwoman in John Paul II's "theology ofbody". The sign of our times is an attempt to relativize the importance of human's nature in the name of equality between man and woman. It seems that the most satisfying answer to this approach may be given by explaining the true meaning of the human nature embodied in male and female. After having described the foundations of the Christian anthropology, which were exposed by John Paul II in his Wednesday catecheses on the theology ofbody, the artide envisages the specificity of the human nature bound to the idea of the divine image in man. Subsequently, the autbor depicts the primary human experiences: loneliness, unity and nakedness. Each of them reveals the depths of the human nature's mystery which is the same formale and female, even if it is expressed in two different ways. Woman participating together with man in the same nature has nevertheless her proper speciticity bound to her "genie" which she shares by living ber life as a gift and offering herself to others.

    Opis:
    Among the Council’s documents, the Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World speaks several times of women. It reminds us about the equality of women and men as individuals, also in marriage. It calls us to overcome social and cultural discrimination and emphasizes the legitimacy to demand legal and factual equality of women with men. It declares that the woman should have the right to choose a state of life, access to equal education and upbringing. It was stressed that trafficking in women is a shameful practice, which offends their dignity. It was also noted that women already work in almost all fields of social life, so it is only right that they are able to participate in the work according to their abilities. John Paul II from the beginning of his pontificate prepared the faithful to get to know that „feminine genius”. An important trend in the teaching of the Pope about the woman is a reflection on love. The genius of the woman is also expressed in the fact that the man gets to knows himself, discovers who he is and who he ought to be, only with the woman. This is done when they become engaged, but also in marriage.

    The spiritual impoverishment of humanity is directly tied to the marginalization of women that has prevented them from fully expressing their feminine genius in both the home and in society. What is need to remove obstacles to the feminine genius is the adoption of the Gospel vision for women and the espousal of Jesus Christ’s attitude toward women. By showing openness, respect, acceptance, and tenderness towards women, the feminine gifts will make an indispensable contribution to the growth of a culture that promotes a culture worthy of persons, a world in which human relationships are more honest and authentic. Women, beginning with their daily relationships with people, offer to humanity the richness of their sensitivity, intuitiveness, generosity, and fidelity. The family and society, as John Paul II noted, direly need the maternal and healing embrace of women.

    Pod pojęciem „geniusz” rozumie się najwyższy stopień zdolności umysłowych człowieka lub wyjątkowe uzdolnienia w jakimś kierunku. W związku z tym, geniuszem nazywa się również człowieka obdarzonego niezwykłą zdolnością twórczą lub wyjątkowo utalentowanego w jakiejś dziedzinie. W odniesieniu do kobiety „geniusz” oznacza jej wrodzoną zdolność do miłowania i bycia miłowaną. Wokół tego koncentruje się problem badawczy artykułu tak, aby w obliczu powojennego niedoceniania „geniuszu kobiet” wydobyć na światło dzienne potrzebę ponownego docenienia tego wyjątkowego daru, a zostanie to ukazane w oparciu o źródła biblijne i nauczanie Jana Pawła II, który nadał też temu określeniu „żywotności”. Potrzeba docenienia roli kobiety w życiu społecznym, politycznym, kulturalnym, a zwłaszcza religijnym jest wciąż aktualnym zagadnieniem wielu dyskusji. Wśród różnych form zaangażowania kobiet na uwagę zasługuje właśnie płaszczyzna religijna. Dlatego w ostatnim punkcie artykułu zostaną ukazane niektóre wzorce „geniuszu kobiet”, które z motywów religijnych pozostały bezżenne w życiu konsekrowanym lub świadomie wybrały samotność.
    ‘Genius’ is the highest degree of mental ability of a person or exceptional talents in some direction. The term is also referred to as a person endowed with extraordinary creative ability or exceptional talent in a certain field. In relation to women, ‘genius’ refers to their innate ability to love and be loved. This is the focus of the article’s research question: the re-appreciation of this unique gift on the basis of Biblical sources and the teaching of Pope John Paul II, who also gave “vitality” to the term. The context is the post-war undervaluation of ‘women’s genius’. The need to appreciate the role of women in the social, the political, the cultural and especially the religious life is still a major concern. Among various forms of women’s involvement the most noteworthy is precisely the the religious aspect. Therefore, the final section of the article shows some models of “genius women” who, for religious reasons, remained unmarried in a consecrated life or consciously chose solitude.
