    Opis:
    The concept of creation of the geoportal “Environmental Safety of Ukrainian-Polish Transboundary Territories” has been developed. General principles and methodological approaches of spatiotemporal geographically distributed thematic data integration were substantiated. The geoinformation system, which is based on results of monitoring researches of objects of the nature reserve fund in the biosphere reserve “Roztochya”, is considered. The geoinformation monitoring technologies ensure ecological safety management. The proposed geoportal determines directions of information technology implementation for transboundary monitoring of ecosystems in the euroregions.

    The Arganeraie (forests of argan trees) is one of the most important natural resources of Morocco but it faces a serious risk of degradation or even extinction. It is therefore essential to develop a model of sustainable tourism that can help to preserve this natural heritage, especially given the ever growing number of tourists. The purpose of this article is to analyze the concept of “payments for environmental services” (PES) as a method of collecting revenue to create a sustainable and structured touristic offering and to preserve the natural heritage in the region of Souss-Massa. This exploratory study is based on qualitative data collected during interviews with 80 tourists visiting Souss-Massa. It was found that the respondents were interested in the natural attributes of sites they visited and expressed their willingness to protect this natural heritage by paying for environmental services.

    Celem podjętych badań jest ukazanie dynamiki zmian przestrzenno-czasowych lesistości jako jednego z podstawowych wyznaczników stosowanych w ocenie rozwoju zrównoważonego w zachodniej części Rezerwatu Biosfery „Roztocze”. Drugim, równorzędnym celem jest wykazanie istotnych cech kartograficznych materiałów źródłowych wykorzystywanych powszechnie w tego typu badaniach oraz ich wpływu na ostateczne wyniki analiz, które stanowią podstawę do formułowania skutecznych i właściwych strategii przyszłego rozwoju, w tym przypadku zarówno Rezerwatu, jak i całego regionu Roztocza. Badaniami objęto zachodnią część utworzonego w 2019 r. Rezerwatu Biosfery „Roztocze” w granicach dwóch subregionów: Roztocza Gorajskiego i Roztocza Szczebrzeszyńskiego, charakteryzujących się zbliżonymi cechami środowiska wynikającymi z występowania utworów lessowych. Od lat 30. do lat 90. XX w. powierzchnia lasów zwiększyła się ze 146,82 do 153,5 km2, co oznacza, że wskaźnik lesistości wzrósł z 28,3% do 29,6%. W latach 1989–2017 nastąpiło znaczne zwiększenie powierzchni lasów, czego efektem był wzrost lesistości do 38,3%. Wykorzystanie najnowszych materiałów kartograficznych daje możliwość poznania stanu obecnego, dokonania oceny tempa zmian oraz ich prognozowania. Analiza zmian lesistości jest szczególnie przydatna w ocenie implementacji rozwoju zrównoważonego, który dla regionu Roztocza jest kierunkiem pozwalającym na zachowanie jego unikatowości i tożsamości.
    The aim of the undertaken research is to show the dynamics of spatial and temporal changes in forest cover as one of the basic development direction used in the assessment of sustainable development in the western part of the “Roztocze” Biosphere Reserve. The second, parallel objective, is to demonstrate the important cartographic features of the source materials commonly used in this type of research and their influence on the final results of the analyses, which form the basis for formulating effective and appropriate strategies for future development in this case of both the Reserve and the entire Roztocze region. The research covered the western part of the “Roztocze” Biosphere Reserve established in 2019, within the boundaries of two subregions: the Goraj Roztocze and the Szczebrzeszyn Roztocze, characterised by similar environmental features resulting from the occurrence of loess formations. From the 1930s to the 1990s of 20th century the forest area increased from 146.82 to 153.5 km2, which means that the forest cover ratio increased from 28.3% to 29.6%. From 1989 to 2017, there has been a significant increase in forest area. The forest cover in the area increased to 38.3%. The use of the latest cartographic materials provides an opportunity to learn about the current state, assess the rate of change and forecast it. The analysis of changes in forest cover is particularly useful in assessing the implementation of sustainable development, which is the direction that allows Roztocze region to maintain its uniqueness and identity.

    The Pol’ana Biosphere Reserve is situated in Central Slovakia. In its southern part, in the scattered area, the town of Hriňová was built, and its districts became part of the biosphere reserve and the protected natural area. For the residents it means both benefits and disadvantages. This article analyzes the situation of 2016 when the Biosphere Reserve area was expanded under the UNESCO program.
