We study the exact boundary controllability of two coupled one dimensional wave equations with a control acting only in one equation. The problem is transformed into a moment problem. This framework has been used in control theory of distributed parameter systems since the classical works of A.G. Butkovsky, H.O. Fattorini and D.L. Russell in the late 1960s to the early 1970s. We use recent results on the Riesz basis property of exponential divided differences.

Opis:
The main objective of this article is to present the state of the art concerning approximate controllability of dynamic systems in infinite-dimensional spaces. The presented investigation focuses on obtaining sufficient conditions for approximate controllability of various types of dynamic systems using Schauder’s fixed-point theorem. We describe the results of approximate controllability for nonlinear impulsive neutral fuzzy stochastic differential equations with nonlocal conditions, impulsive neutral functional evolution integro-differential systems, stochastic impulsive systems with control-dependent coefficients, nonlinear impulsive differential systems, and evolution systems with nonlocal conditions and semilinear evolution equation.

In this paper the controllability problem for discrete-time linear switched systems is considered. The main goal is to find a control signal that steers any initial state to a given final state independently of the switching signal. In the paper, it is assumed that there are some constraints posed on the switching signal. Moreover, we present a necessary and sufficient conditions of some kinds of controllability. Three types of controllability, namely: from zero initial state to any final state, from any initial state to zero final state and from any initial state to any final state are considered. Finally, three illustrative examples are shown.

The paper investigates the controllability of fractional descriptor linear systems with constant delays in control. The Caputo fractional derivative is considered. Using the Drazin inverse and the Laplace transform, a formula for solving of the matrix state equation is obtained. New criteria of relative controllability for Caputo’s fractional descriptor systems are formulated and proved. Both constrained and unconstrained controls are considered. To emphasize the importance of the theoretical studies, an application to electrical circuits is presented as a practical example.

Opis:
A generic structure of reachable and controllable positive linear systems is given in terms of some characteristic components (monomial subdigraphs) of the digraph of a non-negative a pair. The properties of monomial subdigraphs are examined and used to derive reachability and controllability criteria in a digraph form for the general case when the system matrix A may contain zero columns. The graph-theoretic nature of these criteria makes them computationally more efficient than their known equivalents. The criteria identify not only the reachability and controllability properties of positive linear systems, but also their reachable and controllable parts (subsystems) when the system does not possess such properties.

Precyzyjny pomiar położenia poruszającego się obiektu może być trudny do zrealizowania w systemach sterowania wyposażonych w sterowniki PLC ze względu na czas cyklu sterownika. Z drugiej strony, wykorzystanie funkcji liczników sprzętowych nie zawsze umożliwia pełną kontrolę procesu. W artykule przedstawiono jeden ze sposobów realizacji procesu pozycjonowania z wykorzystaniem sterownika PLC wyposażonego w licznik sprzętowy.
Precise position estimation of a moving object can be difficult in a PLC-based control system because of the time lag caused by the non-zero PLC cycle time. On the other hand, using the functions of the hardware counters could compromise system security. The article presents an approach where good accuracy was achieved using the estimation procedures in a standard PLC equipped with an embedded hardware counter.

Necessary and sufficient conditions are established for the positivity of bilinear discrete-time systems with delays. Solutions to positive bilinear discrete-time systems are derived. The controllability to zero of the bilinear positive systems with delays is addressed. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the controllability to zero of positive bilinear systems with delays are formulated and proved. The considerations are illustrated by examples.
Podano warunki konieczne i wystarczające dodatności biliniowych układów dyskretnych z opóźnieniami w wektorze stanu i w wymuszeniu. Podano również metodę wyznaczania rozwiązania tych biliniowych układów dyskretnych z opóźnieniami. Wyprowadzono warunki konieczne i wystarczające sterowalności do zera tej klasy układów dodatnich. Rozwiązanie ogólne zostało zilustrowane przykładem liczbowym.

Opis:
New approaches to the transformations of the uncontrollable and unobservable matrices of linear systems to their canonical forms are proposed. It is shown that the uncontrollable pair (A,B) and unobservable pair (A,C) of linear systems can be transform to their controllable (̅ , ̅ ) and observable (̅ , ̅ ) canonical forms by suitable choice of nonsingular matrix M satisfying the condition [ ] = [̅ ̅ ] and [ ] = [̂ ̂ ], respectively. It is also shown that by suitable choice of the gain matrix K of the feedbacks of the derivative of the state vector it is possible to reduce the descriptor system to the standard one.
Zaproponowano nowe podejścia do transformacji niesterowalnych i nieobserwowalnych macierzy układów liniowych do ich postaci kanonicznych. Wykazano, że niesterowalna para (A,B) i nieobserwowalna para (A,C) układów liniowych może być przekształcona do ich postaci kanonicznych sterowalnych i obserwowalnych prze odpowiedni dobór nieosobliwej macierzy M spełniającej warunki [ ] = [̅ ̅ ] i [ ] = [̂ ̂ ]. Pokazano,żeprzezodpowiednidobórmacierzyKsprzężeniazwrotnego od pochodnej wektora stanu jest możliwa redukcja układu deskryptorowegodoukładustandardowego.

Controllability, observability and the transfer matrix of the discrete 2-D Roesser model are analyzed. It is shown that the controllability of the Roesser model is invariant under state feedbacks and the observability under output feedbacks.
