Opis:
The teaching of the Catholic Church concerning the indissolubility of marriage is unambiguous, consistent and invariable. However, contrary to it: influence of secular mass media, hedonism, permissiveness, and extreme liberalism have negative effects on social attitudes. Polled betrothed, the faithful coming out from Sunday mass, catechized students and teachers of secondary schools often advocate divorces. This situation needs to mobilize priests to undertake preventive and corrective actions in support of the faithful in fight against the threats to the family. Responsible care should include in particular the preparation for marriage.

The speech (fourth so far) given on 21 of January 2017 by Pope Francis to the Tribunal of the Roman Rota constitutes an important element of papal Magisterium in the important area of the life and activity of the Church, namely marriage and family. This time, the Holy Father focused on those preparing for marriage and young spouses. Considering the task of awaking and reviving faith both in the former and the latter, he expressed a view that the relationship between marriage and faith, two closely related realities, not only involves the juridical, but also theological dimension. Therefore, a concluded marriage should be both important, but also fruitful. In the Pope’s opinion, Christian communities, above all parish ones, play an especially important role in awakening and reviving faith in bridegrooms-to-be and young spouses.

Opis:
This article presents the concept of marriage love in terms of education. Marriage love is defined as „attitude” including marriage of inclusivity and uniqueness of each of the spouses. Marriage love begins at home and family since the first moments of child's life. Then, in fact, parents satisfy needs of love and belonging, their child and develop his or her ability to love. The child observes their parents and learns from them what is love and how it should look in the future. The element of education for marriage love is the preparation which covers the period of engagement, religious instruction, premarital education, counseling meetings in family life and confession. It is time that the spouses should come to know themselves, their future plans, learn how to communicate and cope with conflicts. Parents' love is the kind of foundation for the later child's love for his or her spouse and gives a shape its expectations for the other person.

L’auteur de l’article aborde une question du soin pastoral de veiller à ce que leur propre communauté d’Eglise fournisse aux fidèles son assistance pour que l’état de mariage soit gardé dans l’esprit chrétien et progresse dans la perfection (cf. CIC, can. 1063 n. 1-3). Il concentre son attention sur la place de la très sainte Eucharistie dans cette préparation des époux futurs. Il présente tour à tour : des relation entre les deux sacrements d’amour qui sont l’Eucharistie et le mariage ; le contexte eucharistique de la préparation personnelle des fidèles au mariage ; des conclusions de lege ferenda concernant la mise à profit de la richesse spirituelle de la très sainte Eucharistie à la formation préparatoire des époux.

Artykuł prezentuje działania edukacyjno-wychowawcze podejmowane na łamach czasopisma „Rodzina i Szkoła” skierowanego do rodziców i pedagogów. W artykułach rozważano zagadnienia związane z przygotowaniem młodzieży do zawarcia związku małżeńskiego, pełnieniem roli ojca i matki, rozumieniem własnych potrzeb seksualnych. W „Edukacji Rodzinnej” zwracano uwagę na postawy, które ukazywano, jako źródło szans i zagrożeń w osiąganiu dojrzałości młodych ludzi w związkach małżeńskich i relacjach rodzinnych.

The article discusses the continuous process of preparing the youth for marriage and family life, occurring in three stages: remote, proximate and immediate. Remote preparation commences already in childhood and hinges on gaining suitable knowledge and desirable attitudes towards marriage and family life. Proximate preparation covers high-school students and constitutes a kind of pre-marital catechesis, realized both in the school and parish. Immediate preparation is addressed chiefly to future married couples who are only several months from concluding marriage and establishing a family. Thorough preparation at the three stages influences not only the condition of the modern family but also future of the Church and all human beings.

Kohabitacja przedmałżeńska w Polsce, mimo iż nadal nie jest tak powszechnie praktykowana i akceptowana jak w wielu krajach zachodnich, staje się bardziej atrakcyjną formą bycia w związku (intymnym) dla coraz większej liczby młodych Polaków. Ten stan rzeczy – pomimo wyraźnych zmian w podejściu do par kohabitujących zaproponowanych przez papieża Franciszka w encyklice Amoris Laetitia – nie jest w pełni zrozumiany przez Kościół katolicki w Polsce. Przygotowanie 11-stronicowego dokumentu zawierającego ogólne wytyczne do stosowania encykliki zajęły Episkopatowi Polski ponad dwa lata. Jak dotąd nie zaproponowano również propozycji programu formacyjnego (na poziomie diecezji czy metropolii), który oferowałby konkretną pomoc w przygotowaniu par kohabitujących pragnących zawrzeć sakrament małżeństwa. W tym artykule autorka koncentruje się na najnowszych badaniach empirycznych dotyczących jakości związków kohabitacyjnych (przed i po zawarciu małżeństwa), a także na nowym kierunku w postępowaniu z parami, które żyją w tzw. nieregularnych sytuacjach, wyznaczonym przez papieża Franciszka. Opierając się na tych dwóch perspektywach, przedstawia kilka sugestii, jak podchodzić do par kohabitujących w kontekście przygotowania małżeńskiego w sposób pastoralnie przyjazny, a jednocześnie skuteczny i realistyczny.
Premarital cohabitation in Poland, although still not as widespread and common as in many western countries, is becoming an attractive form of being in an intimate relationship for a growing number of young adults. This state of things – in spite of the recent, more welcoming attitude towards cohabiting couples introduced by Francis – is not fully recognised by the Polish Episcopate. The Church in Poland had to wait over two years to receive a general guideline for the application of Amoris Laetitia. Also, until now the Polish bishops have not been able to propose any systematic marriage preparation program (MP) or working document – which would offer principles on how to deal pastorally with cohabiting couples. In this article I specifically concentrate on the newest empirical research regarding the quality of cohabiting unions (prior to and after they transit to marriages) as well as on the new orientation towards those living in ‘irregular’ situations introduced by Francis. Based on these two perspectives, I make several suggestions on how to deal with the Polish cohabiting couples in the context of marriage preparation in a pastorally sensitive and at the same time effective and realistic manner.

Od kilku lat zauważa się systematycznie pogarszające się statystki dotyczące rozwodów. W Polsce co trzecie małżeństwo rozpada się. Próbą zaradzenia tej sytuacji jest podnoszenie jakości przygotowania narzeczonych do sakramentu małżeństwa. W pierwszej części artykułu przedstawiona została nauka Kościoła katolickiego dotycząca przygotowania do zawarcia małżeństwa. Konstruowane w tym celu specjalistyczne programy powinny pomagać nupturientom we wzajemnym poznawaniu się oraz stwarzać pozytywne warunki do powstawania udanych małżeństw. W drugiej części artykułu zaprezentowana została strategia FOCCUS. Narzędzie to pomaga nupturientom dowiedzieć się więcej o sobie, pomaga im lepiej poznać się jako para, pozwala diagnozować zarówno mocne, jak i słabe strony wzajemnej relacji poprzez analizę różnych sfer życia narzeczeńskiego. Ostatnia część artykułu to sugestie pastoralne. Nabywanie przez narzeczonych umiejętności wspólnego rozwiązywania problemów oraz podnoszenie jakości komunikacji interpersonalnej jawi się jako wyzwanie pastoralne. Te dwa obszary są bowiem najbardziej predyktywnymi wskaźnikami jakości przyszłego związku.
Over recent years it is observed the deterioration of divorce statistics. In Poland every third marriage falls apart. In order to remedy the situation, the quality of marriage preparation for engaged couples should be raised. In the first part of the article, the author presents the Catholic Church teaching concerning the preparations for a marriage. The specialist, designed for this purpose, programs should help nupturients to get to know each other and create favourable conditions for entering into happy marriages. In the second part of the article, the FOCCUS strategy is presented. The tool helps nupturients to learn more about each other and to explore their relationships. Moreover, it enables them to diagnose the strengths and weaknesses in their relationships thanks to the analysis of the various spheres of the engagement period. The last part of the article concerns pastoral suggestions. Acquiring by nupturients the abilities to solve problems together and raising the quality of their interpersonal communication seems to be the pastoral challenges. The two areas are the most predictive indicators of the future marriage quality.

The article compares the teaching contained in the exhortation of John Paul II entitled Familiaris consortio and the exhortation of Pope Francis entitled Amoris laetitia. The subject taken for the comparison is preparation for marriage. The analysis of both exhortations has shown that Pope Francis uses a slightly different terminology regarding the same stages of formation. Francis uses the following rich images concerning the stages of preparation for marriage: “education of love”, “maturation of love” and “superiority of love”. Francis deepens the personalistic thought of John Paul II. The analysis shows the continuity of the pastoral concept present in both examined documents.

According to can. 1067 of the Code of Canon Law „The Episcopal Conference should issue norms relating the examination of spouses, the marriage banns and other opportune means to accomplish the investigations necessary before marriage, so that the parish priest, following them diligently, may assist in the marriage”. Taking into account the legal norms regarding preparation for marriage and the protection of personal data amended by the Polish Bishops’ Conference, this article systematizes the topic of premarital announcements in the current legal order of the Catholic Church in Poland.

The last decade is the time of numerous cultural changes, globalization of societies and development of technology. Considering the new challenges of civilization the younger generation often has difficulty defining their own way of life. Every person, especially a young one, makes many choices. Among them is the decision about the common life with another person. Pedagogy cannot remain indifferent to the issue of educating young people to cultivate the traditional Christian model of family life. Hence it is important to identify engagement as the period prior to the conclusion of sacramental marriage. More and more young people are shifting from the stage of friendship immediately to the role of spouses. Blessed John Paul II shows the three stages of preparation for the sacrament of marriage: closer, further and more direct one. It is worth undertaking these issues in order to lead to the development of specific indications of youth and bride couples that will help them to spend their future life in peace and harmony.
Ostatnie dziesięciolecia to czas licznych przemian kulturowych, globalizacji społeczeństw, a także rozwoju technologii. Młode pokolenie wobec nowych wyzwań cywilizacyjnych często ma trudności z określeniem własnej drogi życiowej. Każdy człowiek, szczególnie młody dokonuje wielu wyborów. Wśród nich jest decyzja o wspólnym życiu u boku drugiej osoby. Pedagogika nie może pozostać obojętna na wychowanie młodzieży do pielęgnowania tradycyjnego, chrześcijańskiego modelu życia rodzinnego. Stąd ważne jest wskazanie narzeczeństwa jako okresu poprzedzającego zawarcie sakramentalnego małżeństwa. Coraz częściej młodzi ludzie przechodzą z etapu relacji koleżeńskich od razu do roli małżonków. Błogosławiony Jan Paweł II wskazuje trzy etapy przygotowania do sakramentu małżeństwa: bliższe, dalsze i bezpośrednie. Warto podejmować te kwestie, aby doprowadzić do wypracowania konkretnych wskazań dla młodzieży i narzeczonych, które pomogą im spędzić przyszłe życie w zgodzie i harmonii.

Ukazany w artykule problem stanowi jedynie próbę odpowiedzi, na ile głos papieża Franciszka o palącej potrzebie odnowionego duszpasterstwa małżeństwa i rodziny znajduje aplikację w decyzjach i działaniach duszpasterzy oraz wspólnot kościelnych. Adhortacja apostolska papieża Franciszka poświęcona miłości w rodzinie podejmuje temat małżeństwa i rodziny. W części zatytułowanej „Prowadzenie narzeczonych na drodze przygotowania do małżeństwa” (pkt. 205-216) mamy wskazania jak pomóc młodym ludziom w odkryciu wartości i bogactwa małżeństwa.Dnia 26 listopada 2019 r. Konferencja Episkopatu Polski opublikowała Dekret ogólny o przeprowadzeniu rozmów kanoniczno-duszpasterskich z narzeczonymi przed zawarciem małżeństwa kanonicznego. Wydany dekret odnosi się do wymogów formalno-kanonicznych i nie reguluje kwestii związanych z przygotowaniem tematyki katechez przedmałżeńskich i innych odnoszących się do duszpasterskiej troski o małżeństwo i rodzinę. Wskazano w dekrecie, że w dziedzinie pastoralnej przygotowania do małżeństwa obowiązują zasady zawarte w Dyrektorium Duszpasterstwa Rodzin z 2003 roku oraz dokumencie z 2009 roku Służyć prawdzie o małżeństwie i rodzinie, wydanych przez KEP. Powstaje pytanie: na ile wskazania duszpasterskie są wystarczające. Dla potwierdzenia zasadności powyższych dylematów warto podać: dane opublikowane przez Instytut Statystyki Kościoła dotyczące udziału wiernych w życiu sakramentalnym oraz skali powoływanych poradni rodzinnych, dane pochodzące z referatów katechetycznych oraz wyniki badań przeprowadzonych przez Centrum Badania Opinii Społecznej opublikowane w 2019 w kontekście mentalności rozwodowej. Nowe wyzwania przyszłości w kontekście obciążeń psychicznych spowodowanych sytuacją ogólnoświatową, już teraz domagają się rewizji programów duszpasterskich w temacie małżeństwa i rodziny. Narastająca w świecie niepewność w obliczu pandemii i szerzących się konfliktów zbrojnych powoduje skutki w relacjach międzyludzkich. Naczelną zasadą prawa jest salus aminarum – zbawienie dusz. Ze względu na tę zasadę Prawodawca poleca, by świadczyć pomoc wiernym, którzy pragną zawrzeć małżeństwo. Zjawisko klerykalizmu, podejmowane dziś w dyskusjach, nie może w żaden sposób blokować wiernym świeckim dostępu do uczestnictwa w kapłańskim, prorockim i królewskim posłannictwie Chrystusa, bowiem są oni powołani do wypełnienia misji, jaką Bóg powierzył pełnić Kościołowi w świecie.
The problem presented in the article is only an attempt to answer how much the voice of Pope Francis about the urgent need for a renewed pastoral care for marriage and the family finds application in the decisions and activities of pastors of souls and church communities. Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation on love in the family takes up the theme of marriage and the family. In the section “Guiding Couples in Their Preparation for Marriage” (AL 205-216), we have guidelines on how to help young people discover the value and richness of marriage.On November 26, 2019, the Polish Episcopal Conference published A general decree on canonical and pastoral talks with the engaged before contracting canonical marriage. The decree refers to formal and canonical requirements and does not regulate issues related to the preparation of premarital catecheses and pastoral care for marriage and family. It was indicated in the decree that in the field of pastoral preparation for marriage the principles – set out in The Directory for Pastoral Care of the Family in 2003 and in the document issued by the PEC in 2009: Serving the Truth about Marriage and the Family – are binding. The question arises: to what extent are pastoral guidelines sufficient? To confirm the legitimacy of the above dilemmas it is worth to mention: data published by the Institute of Church Statistics on the participation of the faithful in the sacramental life and the rising number of family counselling centres, data from catechetical departments and the results of research conducted by the Public Opinion Research Centre published in 2019 in the context of divorce mentality.The new challenges of the future in the context of mental stress caused by the global situation already now call for a revision of pastoral programmes in the field of marriage and family. The growing uncertainty in the world in the face of the pandemic and armed conflicts has a deep impact on interpersonal relationships. The main law principle is salus aminarum – the salvation of souls. Because of this principle the Legislator recommends to give help to the faithful who wish to contact marriage. The phenomenon of clericalism discussed today must not block the lay faithful from their participation in the priestly, prophetic and kingly office of Christ, since they are called to fulfill the mission that God has entrusted to the Church in the world.

Nierzadko można spotkać się z formalistycznym podejściem wobec przygotowania do małżeństwa. Obecne pokolenie domaga się szybkiego załatwiania spraw i omijania zbędnych formalności. Dlatego też podobne postawy ujawniają się podczas formacji przedmałżeńskiej. Zarówno nupturienci, jak i duszpasterze często kurs przedmałżeński, czynności administracyjne, czy spisanie protokołu traktują jak przykry, lecz konieczny obowiązek. Natomiast spotkanie nupturientów z proboszczem parafii powinno stanowić okazję do dialogu, katechezy i rozmowy. Zadaniem duszpasterza podczas wizyty w kancelarii jest nie tylko zbadanie, czy narzeczeni pragną zawrzeć ważny związek małżeński, lecz także doprowadzenie do owocnego zawarcia małżeństwa sakramentalnego. Badanie przedślubne powinno mieć charakter prawny i duszpasterski, stanowić okazję do sprawdzenia nupturientów, jak i poznania ich motywów oraz pogłębienia czy skorygowania posiadanej przez nich wiedzy o małżeństwie sakramentalnym.
We can often find a formalistic approach to marriage preparation. The current generation want to get things done without unnecessary formalities. The similar attitudes are revealed during premarital formation. Both nupturients and pastors all their duties treat like unpleasant. The nupturients meeting with the parish priest should be an opportunity for dialogue, catechesis and conversation. The parish priest is not only to examine whether the nupturients want to enter into a valid marriage, but also to form them to enter a sacramental marriage. Prematrimonial examination should be more legal and pastoral. It should also be an opportunity to check their motives and to deepen or correct their knowledge of sacramental marriage.
