    Since the age of sensibility there has been a growing focus on inner subjective experience. The epistolary novels of Goethe (“Die Leiden des jungen Werther” [The Sorrows of Young Werther], 1774) and J. M. R. Lenz (“Der Waldbruder. Ein Pendant zu Werthers Leiden” [The Hermit. A Pendant to Werther’s Sorrows], 1776) provide an insight into the emotional world of a first-person narrator. His emotions, such as sadness or longing, are expressed through conventional rhetorical figures such as the oxymoron. However, the mixed feelings shown in the novels are rarely interpreted with reference to rhetorical figures.

    Stanisław Gostkowski, współczesny poeta, autor siedmiu tomików, zmarł w roku 2000. Nie należał do Nowej Fali ani do Nowej Prywatności. Cenił wiersze Tymoteusza Karpowicza. W artykule piszę o pierwszym tomiku Nie chowajcie mnie żyjącego i czwartym Śmierć ma słodki zapach. Gostkowski pisał o śmierci, ale dla życia. W swojej poezji bardzo często eksponował barokową ideę vanitas. W szkicu zaprezentowano interpretację z perspektywy baroku.
    Stanisław Gostkowski, a contemporary poet, author of seven volumes, died in 2000. He did not belong to the New Wave and New Privacy. His literary patron was Tymoteusz Karpowicz. I am writing about the first volume, Don’t bury me alive, and the fourth one, titled Death has a sweet smell. Gostkowski wrote about death, nevertheless just for life. He often emphasises vanitas in his poetry. Here is an interpretation of his output from the Baroque perspective.

    The relatively scarce surveys in the field of neologisms and the complete lack of a large scale search approach, which could unveil their diverse and multifunctional inherent capacity, posits the goal of the present survey as one of many possible vistas for the overture of their expressive potential as a powerful factor for triggering the grotesque. The results of the survey confirm the hypothesis related to the existential and expressive dynamics of neologisms – as backed by way of a plethora of linguistic means – acting as the generator of numerous functions: ludic, spontaneous, ontological and epistemological, esoteric, ritualistic and magic, bewitching, prophetic, integrative, transcending and demiurgic, communicative and entertaining.

    The topic of this paper is the golden dust metaphor in Bolesław Leśmian’s poems, fairy-tale prose, essays and plays. It is interpreted as one of many variations of the black sun trope, the gnostic and alchemical symbol for the unity of oppositions and for transformation. Analysis of Leśmian’s metaphor leads to the conclusion that his writing corresponds to gnosticism and alchemy. It takes up the concept of material concreteness, nudging the reader to combine oppositions and transmutation. Acting through words, through tropes, reflects the performative status of Leśmian’s creative work.

These trends of political thought are characterized by internal contradictions and opposition to democracy.
    Przedmiotem artykułu są marginalne nurty myśli politycznej oraz ich sprzeczności i niedopowiedzenia. W artykule opisano następujące kierunki myśli politycznej: anarchizm, komunizm, nacjonalizm, monarchizm, transhumanizm, prymitywizm, ruralizm, a także narodowy anarchizm, narodowy bolszewizm i słowianofilstwo. Nurty te cechują się wewnętrznymi sprzecznościami i opozycyjnością wobec demokracji.

    Opis:
    This article deals the role and place of stylistic devices in a work of art in the literary pragmatics context. Operating on the level «author – work – reader», literary pragmatics offers an interpretation of the text together in the light of hidden information. The paper focuses on the stylistic analysis of the dialogues of the characters in Richard Aldington’s novel “Death of a Hero” and defining the pragmatic functions of the given stylistic devices as source of implicit information. In addition to direct descriptions, Richard Aldington characterizes his characters through their speech. Stylistic figures in the dialogues help to assess the situation and understand the way of thinking of characters and their personal features. Phonetic and graphic stylistic devices often indicate the social background of the speaker, his emotional state and situations in which dialogues take palce. Syntactic stylistic means in dialogues are usually broken sentences, they do not add much aesthetic beauty or understanding of ideas, but they allow the author to make characters more believable so that readers feel for them. Syntactic stylistic devices in the dialogues of the novel provide readers with an opportunity to complete the thought of the character, to understand the course of their thoughts. The most frequently used stylistic devices in the dialogues of the novel Richard Aldington are of a lexical stratum; they not only enrich the language of a character, but also allow to evaluate their intelligence, depth of knowledge, imagination level, social background, age group, era. It is thanks to the stylistic devices that the author implicitly manages to explain that there has always been an abyss of misunderstanding between the protagonist and his surrounding, regardless of where he was at a certain stage of life. The contrast of the use of tropes in the speech of the protagonist before and after he became a soldier, demonstrating the fundamental changes in his outlook, shows a particularly important pragmatic function of the stylistic devices usage.
    Дана стаття розглядає роль і місце стилістичних засобів у художньому творі в контексті літературної прагматики. Опираючись на рівень «автор – твір - читач», літературна прагматика пропонує трактування тексту із урахуванням прихованої інформації. Метою даної розвідки є стилістичний аналіз діалогічного мовлення персонажів роману Річарда Олдінгтона «Death of a Hero» та визначення прагматичних функцій зазначених стилістичних засобів як носіїв імпліцитної інформації. Окрім прямих авторських описів, Річарда Олдінгтон характеризує своїх персонажів через їхнє мовлення. Стилістичні фігури у діалогах допомагають оцінити ситуацію та зрозуміти спосіб мислення і характери головних героїв. Фонетичні та графічні стилістичні засоби найчастіше вказують на соціальне походження мовця, іноді на його емоційний стан та особливості мовлення. Синтаксичні стилістичні засоби у діалогах досить часто зустрічаються у вигляді обірваних речень, що не стільки додає естетичної краси чи розуміння ідей, скільки дозволяє авторові героя правдоподібнішим, змусити читача перейнятися його проблемами. Синтаксичні стилістичні засоби у діалогах розглянутого роману націлюють читача на можливість самостійно завершити думку героя, зрозумівши хід його думок. Найчастіше в діалогах роману Річард Олдінгтон використовує лексичні стилістичні засоби, які не лише збагачують мову того чи іншого персонажа, але й дозволяють судити про широту його кругозору, глибину знань, ерудицію, образність мислення, належність до того чи іншого прошарку суспільства, вікової групи, епохи. Саме завдяки тропам авторові імпліцитно вдається пояснити, що між головним героєм та його оточенням завжди існувала прірва непорозуміння, незалежно від середовища в якому він знаходився. Особливу прагматичну функцію виконує контраст вживання тропів у мовленні головного героя до того як він став солдатом і після, демонструючи фундаментальність змін, які відбулися у його свідомості. Однією з найважливіших прагматичних функцій вживання стилістичних фігур у діалогах є надання читачам можливості отримати додаткову інформацію про покоління, яке описує Річард Олдінгтон, принципи його світогляду та систему цінностей.
