    Opis:
    Level B (Independent user) is a specific stage in the process of language education because it consists of two completely different levels of language proficiency. The objectives and content of teaching on B1 level (Threshold or intermediate) and B2 (Vantage or upper intermediate) are incompatible when it comes to quantity and quality. It is necessary to choose different methods of teaching/learning at B2 level, otherwise the progress in learning can be slowed (the language learning plateau). The aim of the article is to present the specifics of learning vocabulary at B2 (Vantage or upper intermediate) level and provide some didactic strategies that can help teachers to minimize the plateauing of language learning and its effects. They can also help students in learning new vocabulary effectively.

    Opis:
    Przedmiotem badań są przymiotnikowe i przysłówkowe derywaty leksemu село w języku ukraińskim oraz ich polskie odpowiedniki. Za zasadnością podjęcia tematu przemawiają: duże prawdopodobieństwo wystąpienia interferencji leksykalnej w językach blisko spokrewnionych; fakt, iż na współczesny zakres znaczeniowy rozpatrywanych leksemów miały wpływ zmiany ewolucyjne w obu językach oraz sztucznie narzucone w czasach komunistycznych (np. likwidacja leksemów z rdzeniem ріль-, nadmierne używanie skrótowców) oraz to, że niektóre z rozpatrywanych derywatów wchodzą w skład wciąż kształtujących się terminów społeczno-politycznych (np. сільський голова). Badania mieszczą się w zakresie językoznawstwa kontrastywnego. Zastosowano metodę porównawczej analizy semantycznej oraz analizy definicyjnej pojęć. Celem badań było określenie podobieństw i różnic w polach znaczeniowych analizowanych leksemów oraz w ich funkcjonowaniu w różnych kontekstach i stylach. Udało się wyznaczyć polskie odpowiedniki semantyczne derywatów ukraińskich, wskazać homonimy/paronimy międzyjęzykowe, podobieństwa i różnice stylistyczne,określić potencjalne trudności w tłumaczeniu (zweryfikowane na drodze badań empirycznych), wskazaćpewne nieścisłości w słownikach.
    The subject of the research are adjective and adverbial derivatives of lexeme село in the Ukrainian language and their equivalents in the Polish language. The following arguments speak for the validity of the subject: the high probability of lexical interference in closely related languages; the fact that the contemporary range of meanings of the lexemes in question in both languages was influenced by evolutionary changes and also changes artificially imposed in communist times (e.g. elimination of lexemes with ріль- core, excessive use of abbreviations); some of these derivatives are part of still-evolving sociopolitical terms (e.g. сільський голова). The research falls within the scope of contrastive linguistics. The method of comparative semantic analysis and definition analysis of terms was applied. The aim was to determine similarities and differences in the fields of meaning of the lexemes that were analyzed and in how they function in different contexts and styles. Polish semantic equivalents for Ukrainian derivatives were identified, homonyms/inter-language paronyms, similarities and stylistic differences were indicated, potential translation difficulties were identified(verified by empirical research), and some inaccuracies in dictionaries were pointed out.

    Opis:
    W artykule poddano analizie interferencyjne błędy leksykalne popełniane przez Słowian ze Wschodu. Podjęto również próbę ich klasyfikacji oraz wskazanie źródeł powstawania. Materiał źródłowy stanowią wypowiedzi pisemne, zaczerpnięte z testów certyfikatowych (poziom B1). Błędy podzielono na kilka grup z uwagi na ich wpływ na skuteczność komunikacyjną osób pochodzenia wschodniosłowiańskiego uczących się JPJO. Prezentowany materiał może służyć pomocą do opracowywania zadań zapobiegających interferencji leksykalnej.
    The article presents an analysis of lexical interference errors made by Slavs from the East. The authors made an attempt to classify them and indicate the source of their occurrence. The source material consists of written texts, selected from certificate tests (level B1). The errors were divided into several groups due to their impact on the communicative effectiveness of people of East Slavic origin learning Polish as a foreign language. The presented material can be used as a base for development of didactic tasks preventing lexical interference.

    Slavisms in the German language
    Opis:
    The objective of this article to familiarize the reader with the rich history of research of Slavic influences on the general German language, on its regional varieties and dialects. They go back to the middle of the XIX century. They are poorly known, even by linguists. A particular attention was paid to the earliest research, the first, yet controversial, statements on Slavic influences on the German language. Finally, the disputes on the recognition of certain words as borrowings from the Slavic languages have not so far been resolved. We may see a particular increase in the said researches after the end of the Second World War. Numerous German regional vocabularies from the territories neighboring the Slavic languages and the German Language Atlas provided a great deal of materials. Slavic and German linguists, mainly German linguists, have amassed a huge number of dialect-related and historic materials concerning borrowings from the Slavic languages in the German language, from which only a minor part concerns the German literary language (about 180) or colloquial German language, however the prevailing majority (about 4 000) concerns different German dialects, in particular, the old German dialects, which are no longer existing. These are mainly lexical borrowings, however the morphological influence is also at issue here, e.g. the Slavic suffixes being added to the German root words.
