    The objective of the study was to test the research hypothesis that the surface area of the medullary bone is correlated with other indicators of body condition. The study also focused on identification of potential differences in and with carcass weight fat parameters and carcass weight between forest and field ecotypes of roe deer. The area of the medullary cavity was measured using DIRA 200 software. Metacarpal bone III+IV, proximal phalanges III and IV, and middle phalanges III and IV were measured as well. The study included 38 female European roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) aged 3-5 years. The results revealed a statistically significant negative correlation between the surface area of the medullary cavity in metacarpal bone III+IV and the kidney fat index KFI (rs = −0,483; P < 0,05) and the weight of the perirenal adipose tissue (rs = −0,362; P < 0,05). No correlation was shown between the area of the medullary cavity of metacarpal bone III+IV and the doe carcass weight (rs = 0,093; ns). The size of the medullary cavity is an anatomical parameter that is not susceptible to cyclical changes in environmental conditions. The study showed that it is independent of body weight and determines the amount of bone marrow and hence the amount of accumulated fat reserves. We believe that, alongside biometric measurements, the surface area of the medullary cavity can be a good parameter for assessment of the individual quality of roe deer and for comparison of populations.

    The main aim of the paper is to discuss the role of individual transport in city logistics in the aspect of quality of life.The article is based on an empirical study. It presents the results of quantitative research based on a questionnaire survey, which was conducted in three medium sized cities in Poland among 1600 citizens. The main goal of the research was to receive information about the correlation between city logistics and the quality of life. The article presents only a narrow part of the suvey research in the area of individual transport in terms of quality of life.

    Weight of body, carcass and internal organs as well as paranephric fat index (KFI) as the individual condition indices of the brown hare (Lepus europaeus) in eastern Poland. The conducted examination on the individual condition of the brown hare was based on animals obtained by means of group hunting in the western part of the Lublin district in eastern Poland. The weight of body, carcass and internal organs as well as paranephric fat index (KFI) was estimated and compared for separate age and gender groups. The body weight of young hares at the level of just over 4.0 kg and adults amounting to 4.7 kg is higher than in other parts of Poland as well as in the Lublin region compared to previous years. High individual condition is also confi rmed by the KFI index, which amounted to 3.6 and was high for this time of year. Carcass mass of acquired hares, which is labeled by means of “slaughtering capacity” (percentage ratio of meat carcass weight with internal parts to live weight of the slaughtered animal), at a level slightly exceeding 60% should be considered as average for the species. Somewhat discomposing are the results regarding the lower mass of internal organs; in particular heart and lungs. Those organs condition the possibility of signifi cant locomotive effort, which consequently plays a very important role in emergency situations when the basic defence reaction of a hare is to escape quickly. Obtained results indicate that the hare population in the western part of the Lublin region is characterized by quite high indicators of individual quality, which should have a positive impact on survivability and reproductive potential of the population. Correlation coeffi cients between body weight and the weight of internal organs were in most cases, except for adult hares, high and statistically signifi cant.

    The aim of the present article is to provide a systematic review of qualitative studies in the leading journals of our field focusing on their distributional properties in the various journals as well as topic choice and selected quality control issues. In order to achieve this aim, we carried out a systematic review of research articles published in leading journals in our field, namely, Applied Linguistics, Language Learning, Language Teaching Research, Studies in Second Language Acquisition and Modern Language Journal between 2016 and 2020. Our sample contains 93 articles in which researchers employed qualitative research methods or mixed methods including a qualitative component. Our main results indicate that there is great variation among journals in terms of the number of qualitative studies. As for topic considerations, some traditional individual difference variables seem to have a dominant role, with cognitive processes involved in language acquisition gaining some ground as well. Concerning quality control issues, there could be room for improvement with regard to reporting the quality control measures, including the tools employed in the studies. Based on our results, we can conclude that a more systematic understanding of acceptable processes in the field of applied linguistics could increase not only the number of qualitative articles published but also their topical importance.

    The aim of this article is to discuss selected scales of measuring functional capabilities and their importance in diagnosis and evaluating patients’ treatment process. In clinical practice during routine examination it is not easy to perform reliable and quick assessment of patients’ functional capabilities and, due to this fact, it is often omitted. However, evaluating this ability is very important, both in diagnosis and in treatment of various diseases, for example osteoporosis, hypertension, neurological diseases, etc. At the moment there is no evidence that one method of functional assessment is better than the other. Selection should be performed depending on patients’ age, health status, type of disease, their fitness and mental status, individual needs (prevention, treatment, evaluation of the effects) or, finally, on specific conditions during the examination.
    Celem niniejszej pracy jest omówienie wybranych skal oceny funkcjonalnej oraz ich znaczenia w diagnostyce i ocenie procesu leczenia pacjentów. W praktyce lekarskiej podczas rutynowego badania nie jest łatwo w rzetelny i szybki sposób dokonać oceny sprawności czynnościowej pacjenta i dlatego też często ten aspekt jest pomijany. A przecież ocena tej sprawności jest bardzo ważna zarówno w diagnostyce, jak i leczeniu wielu chorób, na przykład w osteoporozie, schorzeniach układu sercowo-naczyniowego, schorzeniach neurologicznych itd. W chwili obecnej nie ma jednoznacznych dowodów potwierdzających wyższość jednej metody oceny funkcjonalnej nad innymi. Ich dobór powinien odbywać się w zależności od wieku pacjentów, ogólnego stanu zdrowia, rodzaju schorzenia, sprawności fizycznej i umysłowej, indywidualnych potrzeb (profilaktyka, leczenie, ocena przebiegu usprawniania) czy też warunków, jakimi dysponuje osoba przeprowadzająca tę ocenę.

    Poznano wpływ wybranych czynników produkcji na kondycję ekonomiczną gospodarstw rolniczych. Objęte badaniami gospodarstwa powinny przebudować strukturę wewnętrzną i zwiększyć wykorzystanie posiadanych czynników produkcji. Szczególnie zależność ta uwidoczniła się w obu typach gospodarstw wielostronnych. Przezwyciężenie istniejących trudności w badanych gospodarstwach zależy od ich zasobów naturalnych, potencjału gospodarczego oraz tworzonych koncepcji. Najlepsze wyniki ekonomiczne osiągnęły gospodarstwa jednokierunkowe. Badane gospodarstwa różniły się pod względem osiąganych wyników ekonomicznych.
    The aim of study was to recognize the production factors affecting economic condition of the farms. Surveyed farms should reconstruct their internal structure and intensity the utilization of production factors. This relation was particularly appeared in both types of multidirectorial farms. Overcoming of existing problems depends on resources farms depends on their natural resources, economic potential and assumed conceptions. Best economic results were achieved by one-directional farms. Surveyed farms were differentiated in respect of obtained economic results.

    Opis:
    We constantly ask ourselves about the quality of the education and upbringing system. In order to meet these questions, various systems and concepts appeared, including a new movement that combined teaching and education with the appropriate forms of productive activity of pupils. Soon this trend was called «work schools». In Poland, the newly emerging concept of the experimental school has been called the «creative school». It is not difficult to guess that the new method was quickly evaluated by experts, teachers and the students themselves. The esteemed catechist, Fr. Józef Rychlicki. The purpose of this article is not only to present the views of Fr. Rychlicki on the rightness of introducing the «creative school» method, but also reflection on the need to implement some of the postulates of this method in the contemporary educational system.
    Nieustannie stawiamy sobie pytanie o jakość systemu nauczania i wychowywania. Wychodząc naprzeciw tym pytaniom, pojawiały się różne systemy i koncepcje, a wśród nich również nowy ruch, który łączył nauczanie i wychowanie z odpowiednimi formami działalności wytwórczej uczniów. W niedługim czasie nurt ten został nazwany „szkołami pracy”. Na gruncie polskim nowo pojawiająca się koncepcja szkoły eksperymentalnej została określona mianem „szkoły twórczej”. Nie trudno się domyśleć, że bardzo szybko nowa metoda została poddana ocenom ekspertów, uczących a także i samych uczniów. Swoją ocenę zaprezentował również ceniony katecheta ks. Józef Rychlicki. Zadaniem niniejszego artykułu jest nie tylko ukazanie poglądów ks. Rychlickiego na słuszność wprowadzania metody „szkoły twórczej”, ale również refleksja nad potrzebą zaimplementowania niektórych postulatów tej metody we współczesnym systemie edukacyjnym.
