    Grandparents have always been the backbone of every family. Thanks to them the knowledge is passed on, values are shaped and traditions nurtured. They are a treasury of knowledge to which all family members reach. They are the people who will be happy to help, take care of, educate, explain and listen to. The relationship between grandparents and their grandchildren is very important, as they often spend a lot of time together and learn from each other. Due to the importance of the topic, a decision to learn more about the relationship between contemporary grandchildren and their grandparents was made. The scientific aim of the article is to learn about the relationships that exist between the studied students and their grandparents. Searching for an answer to the question posed, a research technique in the form of interviews with children was used. As a result of own research, it was shown that the surveyed students have very good relations with their grandparents, speak about them with great respect, and grandparents are a role model for them. The obtained results emphasize the extraordinary role of grandparents in the grandchildren’s lives, which is the basis for further studies on a larger scale, taking into account the perspective of grandparents and the demographic data of the surveyed families, which would enable the identification of mutual dependencies.

    The closest family is the most natural support group for seniors. Consequently close family members seem to play an important preventive role in the context of social exclusion of older people. Although the activity of seniors in the area of family, their involvement in family life and giving care to their grandchildren can be a burden, these elements are the important parts of the elderly people’s identity, give a sense of social belonging and promote the process of successful aging. The main aim of this article is to present the results of research into the seniors’ involvement in family life, a kind of support which grandparents give to their families and the meaning which grandparents give to caring for grandchildren. The results of the research indicate that maternal grandmothers have more forms of activities with their grandchildren and forms of assistance in the care of grandchildren than maternal grandfathers and grandparents from father side. In addition, results show that both for grandmothers and grandfathers involvement in the care of grandchildren is an important part of life and that the relationships with grandchildren enrich seniors’ existence. Involvement in the care of grandchildren is equated with a goal in life to a greater extent by the retired grandparents in comparison to the grandmothers and grandfathers professionally active.

    The most desired journey by human being is definitely travel through time. For centuries, people dream about time travel, to be able to go back and fix mistakes of the past. But there are many complications associated with time travel - starting from technological aspects ending with the philosophical paradoxes. Yet, is time travel possible from the technological and philosophical perspectives? How to solve the paradoxes of time travel? It should be noted that realisation of time travel leads not only to the discovery of the nature of time, but also to the understanding how much is unknown about it. In this paper, probability of time travel and solutions to paradoxes will be critically analysed from philosophical perspectives.

    The purpose of the research was to analyze the image of social roles of grandmother and grandfather in the perception of children at a younger school age. Research question sought: for differences in the perception of the role of grandmother and grandfather girls and boys (involved/engaged, social/friendly, reserved/distanced). Based on literature, an original questionnaire was designed and used for research purposes. Thirty children at eleven years participated in the study, including fifteen girls and the same number of boys. The results showed several statistically significant differences in the grandchildren’s perception of grandmother and grandfather roles. The assessed boys differently perceived the engaged and social bond with their grandmother with the comparison to their grandfather. In the grandchildren of both gender, the same order of recognizable types of relationships emerged, from involved/engaged, through social/ friendly, to reserved/distanced. Both the image of grandmother and grandfather in perceptions of granddaughters and grandchildren were positive.
    Celem badań własnych jest analiza obrazu ról społecznych babci i dziadka w percepcji dzieci w młodszym wieku szkolnym. Poszukiwano odpowiedzi na pytanie badawcze: o występowanie różnic w postrzeganiu przez badane dziewczynki i chłopców roli babci i dziadka (styl zaangażowany, towarzyski, zdystansowany). Zastosowano kwestionariusz ankiety w autorskim opracowaniu. W badaniach uczestniczyło trzydzieścioro dzieci w wieku jedenastu lat, w tym piętnaście dziewczynek i tyle samo chłopców. Wyniki ukazały kilka istotnych statystycznie różnic w postrzeganiu przez wnuków stylów pełnienia ról babci i dziadka. Badani chłopcy inaczej postrzegali więź zaangażowaną i towarzyską z babcią, a inaczej z dziadkiem. U wnucząt obu płci ujawniła się ta sama kolejność rozpoznawanych typów relacji: od zaangażowanego, przez towarzyski, do zdystansowanego. Ponadto obraz babci, jak i dziadka w oczach wnuczek i wnuków był pozytywny.

    The paper depicts the situation of an intergenerational family and legal instruments available to its individual members, including, in particular grandparents and grandchildren, that may ensure the feeling of belonging to a family community. The deliberations focused on (i) the duty of mutual respect between members of a family; (ii) family contacts realised independently of parental authority; and (iii) the issue of succession within the grandparents – grandchildren relationship.
    Artykuł prezentuje sytuację rodziny międzypokoleniowej i instrumenty prawne, które poszczególnym członkom rodziny, w tym w szczególności dziadkom i wnukom, zapewnić mogą poczucie przynależności do wspólnoty rodzinnej. Przedmiotem rozważań jest kwestia obowiązku wzajemnego szacunku między członkami rodziny, następnie problem kontaktów realizowany niezależnie od władzy rodzicielskiej i wreszcie kwestia uprawnienia do dziedziczenia w ramach relacji dziadkowie–wnuki.

    Rodzina to dynamiczna, zmieniająca się na przestrzeni wieków, a nawet na przestrzeni pokolenia podstawowa jednostka społeczna. Modyfikacjom ulegają pełnione przez nią funkcje, jej struktura i model. Wraz z tymi zmianami przemianom ulegają także role dziadków. W wielu przypadkach współcześni dziadkowie stają się swoistą instytucją wychowawczą, wspomagającą w znacznym stopniu rodziców w ich opiece nad dzieckiem. Zmiany zachodzące we współczesnym społeczeństwie – w tym wydłużający się wiek życia, wzrost poziomu wykształcenia, aktywność zawodowa kobiet, migracje zarobkowe rodziców czy chociażby samotne rodzicielstwo z wyboru – wpływają na zmianę roli dziadków w rodzinie. Zmiany te obejmują także relacje emocjonalne między dziadkami a ich wnukami oraz intensywność różnych rodzajów wzajemnej aktywności. Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest problematyce, dotyczącej roli dziadków we współczesnej rodzinie w ujęciu teoretycznym, a także stanowi empiryczną próbę określenia postrzegania dziadków przez ich nastoletnich wnuków – uczniów szkół ponadgimnazjalnych. W badaniach zastosowano dyferencjał semantyczny oraz test zdań niedokończonych. Technika dyferencjału semantycznego umożliwiła określenie emocjonalnego komponentu postaw wobec babci i dziadka badanych osób, natomiast test zdań niedokończonych, będący techniką projekcyjną, zastosowano ze względu na to, iż stanowi źródło informacji nie do końca uświadamianych względem badanego aspektu – w tym przypadku babci i dziadka przez osoby badane. Uzyskane wyniki badań pozwoliły uzyskać i porównać obraz dziadka i babci w percepcji uczniów szkoły zawodowej, technikum i liceum.
    Family is a dynamic structure, changing over the centuries, and even over a generation. Family’s structure, performed functions and model change. Along with these changes, the role of grandparents changes as well. In many cases, the grandparents of today become a kind of educational institution supporting, to a large extent, parents in their childcare. The changes taking place in modern society including the lengthening of life, the increase of education level, professional activity of women, labour migration of parents, or even single parenthood by choice, affect the change in the role of grandparents in the family. These changes also include emotional relationships between grandparents and their grandchildren, and the intensity of the various types of mutual activity. This article is an attempt to show the issues concerning the role of grandparents in contemporary family in theory as well as an attempt to diagnose the image of grandparents in the perception of students from secondary schools – people standing on the threshold of adulthood. The studies used the semantic differential and unfinished sentences test. The semantic differential technique makes it possible to determine the emotional component of attitudes towards grandma and grandpa. The test of unfinished sentences, which is a projection technique, was applied because it is a source of information which is not completely realized by the researched students in terms of the researched aspect – in this case, grandmother and grandfather. The results received allowed obtaining and comparing the image of grandfather and grandmother in the perception of students from vocational school, technical school and high school.

    Да нашага часу дайшлі блізу трыццаці беларускамоўных тэкстаў Паў¬стання 1863 г. У артыкуле нас у першую чаргу цікавілі пытанні гісторыі гэтых твораў, праблемы тэксталогіі, а таксама атрыбуцыі. Дык мы пільна прыглядаліся да ўсіх вядомых і даступных іхніх спісаў-рэдакцый. У першую чаргу сказанае датычыць Гутаркі старога дзеда, дваццаць два спісы якое (дзевятнаццаць беларускіх, два літоўскія і расейскі) нядаўна ў адмысловай кнізе выдаў Томаш Настульчык. Мы, выкарыстоўваючы як фотакопіі Т. Настульчыка, так і арыгіналы (ці мікрафільмы) з архіўных спраў, паспра-бавалі “дашукацца” пратографа Гутаркі…, аўтарскага варыянта твора. У вы-ніку прыйшлі да думкі, што захаваныя спісы магчыма падзяліць на пяць груп (асобныя з якіх маюць дзве, тры ці чатыры рэдакцыі). Гэта можа азначаць, што на падставе аўтарскага варыянта ўзнікла не менш за пяць спісаў, перапісвальнікі якіх з’яўляліся па сутнасці рэдактарамі ці нават сааўтарамі нашага паэта. Мы лічым, што адным з найбольш ранніх, а г. зн. і найбольш набліжаным да пратографа, з’яўляецца варыянт г. зв. “літа-графаванае” групы. Пытанне пра аўтарства ў дадзенай працы мы не ставім, але мяркуем, што наяўнасць у спісах “літаграфаванае”, а таксама “пазнанска-львоўскае” групаў значнае колькасці дзеясловаў з інфінітыўным суфіксам -ci скіроўвае нашыя намаганні на пошук аўтара сярод носьбітаў ваўкавыска-беластоцкага дыялекту беларускае мовы. Вядома, К. Каліноўскі гэтым аўтарам можа і не быць, аднак значнае падабенства Гутаркі… да “Мужыцкае праўды” ў шмат якіх аспектах ідэйна-мастацкага зместу дазваляе шукаць паэта ў коле ягоных найбліжэйшых аднадумцаў як сярод студэнцкае пецярбургска-маскоўскае моладзі, так і Гродзенскае паўстанцкае арганізацыі.
    Zachowało się około trzydziestu białoruskich tekstów z okresu Powstania 1863 r. W artykule główną uwagę zwrócono przede wszystkim na historię tych utworów, problemy tekstologii i atrybucji. Przeanalizowano uważnie dobrze znane i dostępne redakcje. Przede wszystkim dotyczy to Gawędy Starego Dziada, której dwadzieścia dwie wersje (dziewiętnaście białoruskich, dwie litewskie i rosyjska) zostały niedawno opublikowane w książce Tomasza Nastulczyka. Korzystając zarówno z fotokopii T. Nastulczyka, jak i oryginałów (lub mikrofilmów), spróbowano „odnaleźć” protograf Gawędy…, autorską wersję dzieła. W rezultacie zasugerowano, że znane wersje można podzielić na pięć grup (niektóre z nich mają dwie, trzy lub cztery edycje). Może to oznaczać, że z wersji autora wyłoniło się co najmniej pięć redakcji, których kopistami byli w rze¬czywistości redaktorzy, a nawet współautorzy naszego poety. W wyniku analizy stwerdzono, że najbliżej protografu jest wariant tzw. grupy „litograficznej”. W tym artykule nie podnoszono kwestii autorstwa, ale obecność w wersjach grup „litografowanych” i „poznańsko-lwowskich” znacznej liczby czasowników z bez¬okolicznikiem na -ci kieruje nasze starania w poszukiwaniu autora na nosicieli dialektu wołkowysko-białostockiego. Oczywiście K. Kalinouski może nie być tym autorem, ale znaczące podobieństwo Gawędy… do „Mużyckiej Praudy” w wielu aspektach treści ideologicznych i artystycznych pozwala na poszukiwanie poety wśród jego najbliższych współpracowników, zarówno wśród młodzieży studenckiej w Petersburgu i Moskwie, jak i organizacji powstańczej na Grodzieńszczyźnie.
    About thirty Belarusian-language texts of the Uprising of 1863 have survived up to this day. Our interest lay, first of all, in the history of these works, the problems of their textual analysis, as well as their attribution. We closely looked at all known and available lists of their publishers. This concerns the Conversation (Hutarka) of an old man, twenty-two lists of which (nineteen Belarusian, one Lithuanian and one Russian) have recently been published in a specialised book by Tomas Nastulchik. We used photocopies from T. Nastulchik’s book as well as originals (or microfilms) from archival files, tried to identify the protograph of the Conversation..., or rather, the author's version of the work. As a result, we came to the conclusion that the preserved lists can be divided into five groups (some of which include two, three or four edited versions of the text). This may mean that, on the basis of the author's version, no less than five lists appeared, the scribes of which were in fact editors or even co-authors of our poet. We believe that some of the earliest, and thus the closest to the protograph, are the lists of the so-called “lithographed” groups. We did not raise the question of authorship due to the lack of necessary material, but we believe that the presence of a significant number of verbs with an infinitive postfix- “ci” in the lists of the “lithographed” and “Poznań-Lviv” groups directs our efforts to find the author among speakers of the Volkovysk-Bialystok dialect of the Belarusian language. Of course, K. Kalinouski may not be the author, but the significant similarity of the Conversation (Hutarka)... and the “Muzhytskaya Prauda” in many aspects of its ideological and artistic content allows us to look for the poet in the circle of his closest associates, both among the students of the St. Petersburg-Moscow youth and the Grodno insurgent organization. We considered it necessary to include Lithuanian-language versions of the Conversation (Hutarka) in our publication since we believe that the problem of attribution of the Belarusian work is closely connected to the Lithuanian text.

    Celem artykułu jest podzielenie się przemyśleniami na temat roli dziadków (pradziadków) w procesie wychowania dzieci – wnuków (prawnuków). W pojęciu rodziny mieszczą się działalność oraz zadania, jakie pełni rodzina na rzecz swoich członków; odgrywa ona zasadniczą rolę w zaspokajaniu wszystkich potrzeb niezbędnych do prawidłowego życia wśród bliskich. W rodzinie dziecko uczy się podstawowych umiejętności życiowych, tam nabywa wzorce zachowań i kształtuje się jego osobowość. To, jaki będzie charakter kontaktów, komunikacji relacji dziadkowie–wnuki, zależy w głównej mierze od dziadków, od tego, jak pojmują swoją rolę w rodzinie i jak będą chcieli ją pełnić. W artykule podkreślono trzy główne typy związków między dziadkami a wnukami, zaproponowane przez K. Appelt.
    The aim of the article is to share thoughts on the role of grandparents (great-grandparents) in the process of raising children - grandchildren (great-grandchildren). After all, the concept of the family includes the activities and tasks that the family performs for its members; it plays an essential role in satisfying all the needs necessary for a proper life among relatives. It is in the family that children learn basic life skills, it is there that they acquire behaviour patterns and develop their personality. The nature of the contacts and communication of the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren depends mainly on the grandparents, on how they understand their role in the family and how they will want to fulfil it. The article highlights three main types of relationship between grandparents and grandchildren, proposed by K. Appelt.
