    This study investigates the process of designing the functionalities of an online learning platform put forward by three types of its users: students, academics and admin staff. Moreover, the study intends to get an insight into the impact the attitudes of the participants of the instruction process have on the process of the platform construction. The case study design was used to see if users of an online learning platform could contribute to defining its functionalities in the areas of creating and sharing classes remotely, conducting tests, tests and exams and advanced reporting of student activity. Moreover, the author wished to learn if different platform users would put forward similar platform functionalities. It was discovered that the parties involved in the platform construction processes may, first of all, have a lot to offer in terms of the platform functionalities and should therefore be involved in the platform construction process. Second of all, although their contributions as far as the functionalities of the platform are concerned may have a lot in common, there are certain aspects of the platform which only people involved in seemingly narrow areas can come up with.

    Opis:
    The objective of the article is to determine the impact of information infrastructure on the functional indicators of university libraries. In the studies, the results of which were presented in the article, there was made a comparison between a group of 32 information infrastructure indicators with all functional indicators and the occurrence of convergence or divergence between them was examined. The aspects of library quality assessment were indicated and described, as well as the most important national and international standards regarding functional indicators. Next, the own research methodology was presented in details, comparative analysis and method of distance and pattern analysis were used as well as the results of the preliminary analysis carried out. In connection with the use of the original research method, the article provides a new perspective on research into the impact of information infrastructure on the functionality of university libraries. Preliminary studies have shown that technical and economics universities are better equipped with information infrastructure than those with a humanistic profile.

    Opis:
    Głównym celem artykułu jest porównanie następujących współczesnych systemów operacyjnych: Windows 10, Windows 11, MacOS Catalina oraz Linux Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. Dokonano analizy pod względem funkcjonalności i czasu potrzebnego na wykonanie podstawowych czynności. Systemy wybrano na podstawie przeprowadzonej analizy popularności, przy użyciu statystyk StatCounter. Do zbadania wszystkich systemów konieczne było przygotowanie dwóch stanowisk badawczych odpowiadających wymaganiom systemów. Przeprowadzone badania zostały podzielone na dwie części. W pierwszej, nastąpiła analiza posiadanych funkcjonalności oraz ocena zaawansowania i łatwości użycia. W drugiej części, zostało przeprowadzone badanie mające na celu porównanie systemów pod względem czasu wykonywania określonych czynności.
    The main purpose of research is comparison of the following modern operating systems: Windows 10, Windows 11, MacOS Catalina and Linux Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. An analysis was made in terms of functionalities and time needed to perform basic activities. The systems were selected on the basis on performed popularity analysis, by using StatCounter statistic. To study each operating system it was necessary to create two test stands corresponding to the requirements of the systems. Conducted research were divided on two sections. In the first one, analysis of the possessed functionalities, assessment of the advancement and ease of using them was performed. In the second section, examination was carried out to compare the operating system in terms of the time of performing specific activities.

    The main goal of this study was the preparation of materials containing phosphoric functionalities on the base of industrial polymer - divinyl rubber and the assessment of their removal efficiency of heavy metals from aqueous solutions. The new method concerns the oxidative chlorophosphorylation of divinyl rubber by PCl3 with the following modification of obtained inter-mediates to create -PO(OH)2, -OPO(OH)2&enspgroups in the polymer chain. The obtained modified polymers get some new properties such as complex formation and capability for ion exchange. The nature and distribution of phosphoric functionalities in the polymer were studied by the methods of NMRand FTIR- spectroscopy, thermal analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The sorption properties of synthesized polymers towards some cations (Cu+2, Ni+2, Co+2 and Zn+2) from water solutions have been tested. It has been shown that the metal removal efficiency of prepared material depends on pH of medium, initial concentration and type of metal ions

    Celem artykułu jest analiza sposobów wykorzystania internetu przez wiejskie gospodarstwa domowe w wybranych krajach Unii Europejskiej (UE), ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem Polski, oraz ocena specyfiki i poziomu zróżnicowania w tym obszarze pomiędzy krajami. W badaniu dokonano podziału krajów UE na grupy na podstawie udziałów mieszkańców wsi korzystających z internetu w latach 2004–2022. Do grupowania krajów wykorzystano analizę skupień metodami Warda i k-średnich z kwadratową miarą odległości euklidesowej. Dla zrozumienia zachowań konsumentów analizie poddano różne funkcje internetu. Wykazano, że kraje europejskie można podzielić na cztery odrębne grupy w zależności od odsetka mieszkańców obszarów wiejskich, którzy mieli dostęp do internetu. Funkcje internetu ujawniły różnice w dostępie do informacji, planowaniu wizyt lekarskich, sieciach społecznościowych, kursach online i zaangażowaniu politycznym w analizowanych grupach. Stwierdzono, że nierówność cyfrowa wśród mieszkańców obszarów wiejskich w UE utrzymuje się przy różnym poziomie korzystania z internetu i wykorzystania jego funkcji. Hipoteza konwergencji sugeruje, że na obszarach słabiej rozwiniętych następuje szybszy wzrost wykorzystania internetu, co potencjalnie zmniejsza dysproporcje. Polityki promujące włączenie cyfrowe i zaawansowane szkolenia w zakresie umiejętności cyfrowych są niezbędne do zlikwidowania dystansu cyfrowego na obszarach wiejskich. Konkludując, dostęp do wielu funkcji internetu, zwłaszcza w służbie zdrowia i edukacji, pozostaje wyzwaniem wymagającym uwagi. W badaniu podkreślono znaczenie uwzględnienia kontekstu kulturowego i społeczno-ekonomicznego w zrozumieniu nierówności cyfrowych. Badanie to rzuca światło na przepaść cyfrową w wiejskich regionach UE i podkreśla potrzebę ukierunkowanych interwencji w celu zwiększenia włączenia cyfrowego i poprawy jakości życia mieszkańców obszarów wiejskich.
    The article aims is to analyze the internet utilization patterns of rural households in selected European Union countries, particularly focusing on Poland, and to assess the specificity and level of differentiation in this area between countries. The study divides European Union (EU) countries into clusters based on the share of rural residents’ using the internet from 2004 to 2022. Employing Ward’s method and k-means clustering with the squared Euclidean distance measure, cluster analysis is used for country grouping. Internet functionalities are analyzed to understand consumer behaviors. The study shows that European countries can be categorized into four distinct groups according to the percentage of rural inhabitants who had access to the internet. Internet functionalities revealed variations in accessing information, scheduling medical appointments, social networking, online courses, and political engagement across these clusters. It was found that digital inequality among rural inhabitants in the EU persists, with varying levels of internet usage and utilization of internet functionalities. The convergence hypothesis suggests that less developed areas experience faster growth in internet usage, potentially reducing disparities. Policies promoting digital inclusion and advanced digital skills training are essential to bridge the digital divide in rural areas. In conclusion, access to internet functionalities, especially in healthcare and education, remains a challenge that requires attention. The study emphasizes the importance of considering cultural and socio-economic contexts in understanding digital inequality. This research sheds light on the digital divide in rural EU regions and highlights the need for targeted interventions to enhance digital inclusion and improve the quality of life for rural residents.
