    Opis:
    Bram Stoker’s "Dracula" (1897) is the most important and most renowned vampire novel, which inspired entire generations of filmmakers. The vampiric count, “with figure of eternal desire – and what’s more, both male and female, homo- and heterosexual” (to quote Maria Janion), had an influence on mass imagination of readers and spectators. In the twentieth century, Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau, Tod Browning, Werner Herzog and Francis Ford Coppola created the most important film adaptations of the Irish writer’s novel. By analyzing these four cinematic images, we can see the evolution of the vampire: how human features were attributed to him and how his sexualization proceeded (particularly in the F.F. Coppola’s movie). Four movie interpretations of Dracula’s character – vampire-monster, vampire-dandy, suffering vampire, vampire-tragic lover – were far from the actual image of the title character from Bram Stoker’s work. There are clear differences between the hero of the novel and his movie equivalents.

    Opis:
    Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ukazanie ewolucji pojmowania republikańskiej formy rządów w Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej. Analiza ta dotyczy nie tylko regulacji prawnej tej zasady ustrojowej, ale także zmian poglądów doktryny konstytucyjnej na kwestie postrzegania zasady republikańskiej, w tym elementów na nią się składających. Rozbieżności postrzegania zasady republikańskiej formy rządów wśród badaczy były i są znaczące, co pokazuje, że przez ponad 100 lat niepodległego państwa polskiego spory te w dalszym ciągu są aktualne. Wspomniane różnice w interpretacji zasady republikańskiej dotyczą przede wszystkim elementów materialnych tej zasady, ujawniających związek pomiędzy ustrojem republikańskim a innymi zasadami ustrojowymi, przede wszystkim zasadą suwerenności ludu (narodu), zasada podziału władzy oraz zasadą określającą system rządów. W tym celu konieczne staje się dekodowanie tych zasad z uwzględnieniem tradycji republikańskich, a co za tym idzie w sposób pozwalający na realizacje tych wartości, które legły u podstaw stworzenia ustroju republikańskiego, nie tyle jako negacji monarchii, lecz jako formy stanowiącej dla niej alternatywę.
    The main purpose of this article is to show the evolution of the understanding of the republican form of government in the Republic of Poland. This analysis concerns not only the legal regulation of this constitutional principle, but also refers to changes in the views of the constitutional doctrine on the perception of the republican principle, including its components. Discrepancies in the perception of the principle of the republican form of government among researchers were and are significant, which shows that for over 100 years of an independent Polish State, these disputes are still vigorous. The aforementioned differences in the interpretation of the republican principle concern primarily the material elements of this principle, revealing the relationship between the republican system and other principles of the system, first of all the principle of the sovereignty of the people (the nation), the principle of the separation of powers and the principle defining the system of government. For this reason, it becomes necessary to decode these rules in a way that respects the republican traditions. and, consequently, in a way that allows the implementation of the values that underpin the creation of the republican system, not so much as a negation of the monarchy, but as an alternative form to it.
