    A tachograph which belongs to the group of ORD devices is the oldest recorder (On Board Recording Devices), and the duty of taking it was led into the USA already in 1939. The inventor of the tachograph was Max Maria von Weber, an administrative official, engineer and author. The Hasler Event Recorder was introduced in the 1920s. Regrettably, the construction of analogue tachograph, an original type of tachograph used in road transport, encouraged to numerous frauds and counterfeits of social rules for drivers In order to solve these all problems, they led with Directive of Advice No. 2135/98 from 24 September 1998 of the August of 2004 from the beginning of in the area of the European Union, new type of registering setting up in the road transport - digital tachograph. In order to make it impossible to abuse, a complex system of keys was applied cryptological and of certificates, saved in grating and devices, letting for explicit determining entitlements of users and authenticities of data, cards and devices. In spite of using, the most modern keys and securing systems, with respect to elements of the system of digital tachographs a lot of modus operandi were observed so that they registered wrong sizes. The European Union took right action in order to before to prevent, nevertheless they must be implemented into the everyday life. Those paper is include information about level of manipulation of digital tachograph and their elements, ways of manipulations of digital tachograph and future ways of counteracting manipulations.

    Cryptography is a field of science necessary to solve problems with encryption of classified messages. The security of electronic information is an integral part of the digital tachography system. From year to year, there is a noticeable increase in electronic data logging systems in many aspects of life. The control measures created for the purpose of performing roadside checks are not sufficient to detect all violations in the recording equipment. Many violations that have occurred during the use of the vehicle are stored in the device’s memory. The article describes the basic mathematical rules illuminating cryptography. The hazards to which the motion sensor installed in the vehicle may be exposed are described. Breaking safety in transport systems may lead to incorrect results of inspections carried out while the vehicle is stopped by authorized services. The article also provides information on the authorities responsible for issuing cards for digital tachographs. Nowadays, documents are increasingly issued with the use of a digital signature. The digital signature of its origin is based on the principles of cryptography. The security key seems to be complicated for the average user. The article discusses the topic of tachograph construction, in particular the schematic responsible for information encryption.

    Opis:
    Strong expansion of IT tools in area of management and control of systems and devices of road transport is connected inseparably with a need of assurance of proper level of credibility and data safety. In paper one related to issues connected with threatens and ways of their reduction in a context of selected law regulation and analysis obtained during studies on modern motion sensor applied in system of digital tachograph in vehicles from delivery trucks and buses group. Departures from assumed scheme of information flow in vehicle can result from random interfering environmental factors as well as , action taken deliberately for specific purpose, as change of object's operation (e.g. tuning of power transmission system), or illicit modification of data subjected to revision by institutions obligated to control of vehicle. Presented in the paper example of threads and methods of information protection are part of the whole system of defined threats and securities necessary to obtain applied certificates granted by selected institutions such as BSI (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik) and development of so called PPprotection profile. In summary there are also pointed another ways to enhance a security level of described system such as e.g. redundancy in acquiring and transmission of data.

    Opis:
    The paper presents issues concerning the range of data stored by the digital tachographs and driver cards. Also the possibilities of them being used by transport enterprises have been analysed. The analysis has been conducted according to the EU legislative requirements and Polish legislative acts, determining driver work time limits. The capabilities of the devices for data down loading from the digital tachographs and driver cards, available in Europe and Poland, have been described. A particular emphasis has been put on the tachoscan set developed by PC Net Service firm together with the Motor Transport institute, presenting fragments of the analysis carried out and printouts. Furthermore, the influence of using digital tachographs on the traffic participants' safety has been discussed. In order to visualise that impact, the statistics were presented of the road accidents caused by motor vehicles. Implementation of the system of digital tachographs should contribute for enforcing of the fair competition rules of Polish, European Union and other contractors of the international road transport. Ranges and data values registered by the tachograph are sufficient for supervisory targets, however the manner of the calculation of the driving time, introduced in paper, is logical, simple and logically reasonable.
    W referacie scharakteryzowano zagadnienia, dotyczące zakresu danych, przechowywanych przez tachografy cyfrowe i karty kierowców oraz dokonano analizy możliwości ich wykorzystania przez przedsiębiorstwa transportowe. Analiza została przeprowadzona zgodnie z wymaganiami legislacyjnymi Unii Europejskiej oraz polskimi przepisami prawnymi, określającymi limity czasu pracy kierowców. Opisano możliwości urządzeń do pobierania danych z tachografów cyfrowych oraz kart kierowców, dostępnych w Europie oraz Polsce. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na zestaw tachoscan, opracowany przez firmę PC Net Sernice oraz Instytut Transportu Samochodowego, przedstawiając fragmenty wykonanych analiz i wydruków. Ponadto omówiono wpływ stosowania tachografów cyfrowych na bezpieczeństwo uczestników ruchu drogowego. W celu zilustrowania tego wpływu przedstawiono statystyki dotyczące liczby wypadków drogowych, powodowanych przez samochody. Wdrożenie systemu tachografów cyfrowych powinno przyczynić się do wzmocnienia zasad uczciwej konkurencji polskich, unijnych oraz innych przedsiębiorców międzynarodowego transportu drogowego. Zakresy i wartości danych rejestrowanych przez tachograf są wystarczające dla celów kontrolnych, natomiast sposób obliczania czasu jazdy, przedstawiony w artykule, jest logiczny, prosty i logicznie uzasadniony.

    Tachograf należy do grupy urządzeń ORD (On Board Recording Devices), których rozwój datuje się niemal od czasów przedwojennych. Najstarszym urządzeniem rejestrującym jest tachograf, którego obowiązek stosowania wprowadzono w USA już w 1939 roku. W artykule przedstawiono główne założenia funkcjonowania tachografu analogowego oraz tachografu cyfrowego w transporcie drogowym. W artykule zawarto również możliwe przyszłościowe wymagania, dotyczące tachografów cyfrowych oraz autoryzowanym warsztatom kalibrującym tachograf cyfrowy. W artykule są przedstawiony jest poziom wdrożenia sytemu tachografów cyfrowych w aspekcie wdrożenia tachografu cyfrowego drugiej generacji.

    The tachograph is the oldest recording device, which belongs to the Group of ORD (On Board Recording Devices). It was introduced in the USA in 1939. Digital tachograph, the new advanced type of recording device in road transport, was introduced by Council Regulation No 2135/98 of 24 September 1998 with the beginning of May 2006, in the area of the European Union. "In contrast to its analogue predecessors the digital tachograph was introduced to facilitate the control of rest and driving times and to prevent manipulation attempt" [1]. In order to prevent abuse, it has been made the system of cryptologic keys and certificates stored in cards and devices, allowing to create an explicit laws of users and authentic data recorded in, cards and devices. Despite the usage of the most advanced keys and protection systems, it has been observed that, in relation to the elements of the digital tachograph system, there are many ways to register invalid data. The European Union has taken action to prevent them, however, they must be implemented in daily life.
    Tachograf jest najstarszym urządzeniem rejestrującym, które należy do Grupy ORD (On Board Recordign Devices). Zostało to wprowadzone w USA w 1939. Tachograf cyfrowy, nowy zaawansowany typ urządzenia rejestrującego w transporcie drogowym, został przedstawiony przez rozporządzenie Komisji nr 2135/98 z 24 września 1998, a wprowadzony z początkiem maja 2006, w obszarze Unii Europejskiej. "W odróżnieniu od jego poprzedników tachografów analogowych z tachografem cyfrowym zaproponowano wyższy poziom nadzoru nad odpoczynkiem i czasami związanymi z prowadzeniem i nie niedopuszczeniem do próby manipulacji" [1]. Aby nie dopuszczać do nadużycia zastosowano system kluczy kryptologicznych i świadectw zapisanych w kartach i urządzeniach. Jednocześnie pozwalając stworzyć wyraźne granice dla użytkowników i autentycznych danych zarejestrowanych w kartach i urządzeniach. Pomimo wykorzystania najbardziej zaawansowanych kluczy i systemów ochrony, został zauważony, w stosunku do elementów cyfrowego systemu tachografu, że jest wiele sposobów manipulacji zapisywanych danych. Unia Europejska podjęła działania by uniemożliwić powyższe czynności, jednakże muszą być one wprowadzone w życie.

    Digital tachographs as devices recording the work of a lorry and driver’s work are a constant factor in the work of a professional driver. It is therefore important to preserve the security of recording and storing electronic information. In this matter, cryptography also becomes an inseparable field of science. The control services set up to conduct roadside inspections do not detect all violations in the recording devices by encrypting information in information systems. One of the frequent vehicle operating parameters that can be falsified are the speed of the vehicle and its rotational speed, as well as the time and efficiency of the driver’s work. These parameters affect the amount of fuel consumption. The reduction of fuel consumption translates directly to the reduction of harmful substances emitted by the car to the environment. Variable compression engines are becoming the future of motoring in the case of internal combustion engines. It is noticeable that there are more frequent deliberate of regulations; and more violations rules concerning the proper functioning of recording devices by recording driver activity. Current methods of preventing violations are insufficient. The article points out the violations related to the actual rotational speed of the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine in relation to the vehicle speed profile, which is directly related to the fuel consumption and the emission of harmful substances. The article describes the ways to reduce fuel consumption, of which the correct driving technique is important in addition to the previously marked parameters. The factors that increase the awareness of professional drivers in the aspect of proper driving techniques are described.

W artykule przedstawiono główne założenia funkcjonowania tachografu analogowego oraz tachografu cyfrowego w transporcie drogowym. W artykule zawarto również możliwe przyszłościowe wymagania, dotyczące tachografów cyfrowych oraz autoryzowanym warsztatom kalibrującym tachograf cyfrowy.

    W artykule przedstawiono główne zagadnienia dotyczące pokładowych urządzeń rejestrujących, jakimi są cyfrowe urządzenia rejestrujące stosowane w transporcie drogowym. W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia dokładności wykonania sprawdzania okresowego, w tym kalibracji w aspekcie bezpieczeństwa funkcjonowania systemu tachografów cyfrowych. Ponadto przedstawiono zagadnienie związane z naruszeniami bezpieczeństwa tego systemu.

    Tachograph belongs to On Board Recording Devices. It was initially introduced for the railroads in order to companies could better document irregularities. The inventor of the tachograph was Max Maria von Weber, an administrative official, engineer and author. The Hasler Event Recorder was introduced in the 1920s. Regrettably, the construction of analogue tachograph, an original type of tachograph used in road transport, encouraged to numerous frauds and counterfeits of social rules for drivers. Secure digital tachograph system is indisputably a means having the great influence on road safety, enforcement of the social conditions for drivers in road transport as well as supporting the fair competition between road transport undertakings. In order to better monitor the compliance of road transport with the rules in force, inter alia the provisions on usage the digital tachographs, the European Union regulation introduces the European Registers of Road Transport Undertakings (ERRU), a system that allows a better exchange of information between Member States.
    W artykule przedstawiono tematykę cyfrowych urządzeń rejestrujących przeznaczonych do rejestrowania czasu pracy kierowców w aspekcie wdrożenia w Unii Europejskiej systemu tzw. dobrej reputacji. Ponadto w artykule zaprezentowano elementy bezpieczeństwa tego systemu w aspekcie innych uczestników ruchu drogowego i ich bezpieczeństwa na drodze.
