    Opis:
    Celem artykułu jest ukazanie troski o dzieci i młodzież, które są przedmiotem działalności Zgromadzenia Sióstr Franciszkanek Rodziny Maryi w Samborze. Wywód rozpoczyna ogólna charakterystyka Sambora i zgromadzenia. W dalszej kolejności zaprezentowano działalność wychowawczo-opiekuńczą Sióstr Franciszkanek Rodziny Maryi w Samborze w latach 1901-1946. Na koniec omówiono współczesne znaczenie zgromadzenia dla środowiska samborskiego. Studium opracowano na podstawie zachowanej prasy i dokumentów osobistych, wspomnień i listów pisanych po latach do sióstr.
    The aim of the article is to present how the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary in Sambor takes care of children and youth. First, a general description of the town of Sambor and the Congregation is provided, followed by a presentation of the educational and care activity of the Sisters in the years 1901–1946. The article concludes with a discussion of the contemporary importance of the Congregation for the Sambor community. The author used surviving press articles, personal documents, diaries, and letters written to the Sisters years later.

    Opis:
    In recent years, in particular after 2015, tenths of thousands of unaccompanied children have arrived in Europe, mostly in Greece and Italy, escaping from war, conflicts and other hardships they were faced with in their countries of origin. A considerable number of them are very young (under 14 years) and extremely vulnerable. The challenge for Europe, in line with the obligations deriving from UNCRC, is to offer them a safe, appropriate environment to live and to carefully examine and protect all their rights, including their protection from violence and exploitation and access to education, health and social participation. In this direction and following EU action plans and decisions, European states are expected to further share responsibilities, collaborate and take all appropriate measures to fully protect the rights of these children.

    Opis:
    W artykule zaprezentowano najlepsze doświadczenia zgromadzeń zakonnych w historii opieki nad dzieckiem. W tradycji polskiej początki opieki zastępczej wiążą się z powstaniem pierwszych szpitali – przytułków, a następnie sierocińców zakonnych dla dzieci. Z dziejami Kościoła katolickiego splata się też geneza dawnych ochronek, archetypów dzisiejszych przedszkoli. Żeńskie zgromadzenia zakonne przyczyniły się również do wykreowania innych form opieki, jak żłobki czy modne swego czasu pogotowia opiekuńcze. Niniejsza analiza ukazuje aktywność sióstr zakonnych na każdym z wymienionych obszarów i przemiany, jakim podlegały najważniejsze formy opieki nad dzieckiem na przestrzeni wieków.
    The article presents the best experience of religious orders in the history of child care. In Polish tradition the origins of foster care are associated with the formation of the first monastic hospitals – almshouses for children and later monastic orphanages. The history of the Catholic Church is also connected with the origins of children’s homes, the archetypes of contemporary kindergartens. Female orders also contributed to the formation of other forms of care, including nurseries, or once fashionable shelter houses. This analysis presents the activity of nuns in each of these areas and the changes that have occurred in the major forms of child care over time.
