Opis:: High flexibility and strategic adaptability are two of the major challenges for manufacturing companies, who have to survive in a turbulent environment. They have to recognize the need for change and innovation on all company levels at an early stage in order to be in the position to implement necessary changes of production structures in a timely manner. In order to make necessary investments in a timely manner, producing companies have to adjust direct and indirect object, structures and processes of the system of performance according to the wishes of customers. Early planning calls for a detailed understanding of the existing processes, structures of resources and the experiences which led to their development. An analysis of the past developments is the necessary foundation for a long term planning of future plant developments. In this paper, a method is proposed for a systematic analysis of past developments of the production structures that consider the specific needs of a plant. The method is the foundation for strategic planning of manufacturing structures and provides the architecture to consider future changes of markets, products and technologies within forecasts and scenarios.

Opis:: In the paper, results of year-long measurements of radon levels in dwellings on the premises of Silesian Voivodeship are presented. Track etched detectors with polymer CR-39 foils were used in the investigations. As the studied buildings were located in different regions of Silesian Voivodeship, therefore results of measurements were analysed due to possible influence of geological structure or effect of mining operations in places, where given dwellings were situated. Elevated concentrations of radon were measured mostly in dwellings located in areas, where permeable Triassic limestone and dolomite occur, as it has been predicted. On the other hand, the impact of mining activity such as disintegration of rock-body and activation of faults plays an important role, too, because it enables radon migration and its entry into buildings. Beside the analysis of seasonal variations of radon activity concentration, the impact of temperature and pressure on these fluctuations outdoor and indoor buildings has been analysed.

Opis:: Różnorodne przemiany, jakie w kulturze i technice nastąpiły w ciągu ostatniego półwiecza, w sposób bardzo istotny wpłynęły na nasze poglądy dotyczące wielu aspektów życia. Jako wytwór kultury architektura kształtowana jest przez te same procesy. Dopasowuje się zatem, w sposób naturalny, do zachodzących zmian. W tak szerokim wachlarzu zagadnień szczególnie interesujące wydaje się prześledzenie zmiany w samym postrzeganiu i definiowaniu zjawiska „zmiany”. Z przyczyn oczywistych w ramach niniejszego artykułu nie jest możliwe dogłębne opisanie tej problematyki, a jedynie jej zasygnalizowanie. Wskazanie jedynie zagadnień stanowiących ciekawy temat do potencjalnych badań, zarówno jakościowych (analitycznych i empirycznych), jak i źródłowych. Z tych też względów tekst ukierunkowany jest raczej na próbę wskazania pewnych, wybranych źródeł zjawiska. Nie stanowi zaś, bo nie może, kompleksowego i dogłębnego jego opisu. Jest też próbą uchwycenia procesu leżącego u podstaw zagadnienia, a nie szczegółową prezentacją jego wyników i stworzonych dla niego narzędzi, wykorzystywanych w projektowaniu i budowie obiektów oraz efektów ich zastosowania.
The changes that have taken place in culture and technology over the last half-century have significantly influenced our views on many aspects of life. As a product of culture, architecture is naturally shaped by these processes, adjusting to the changes taking place. Considering such a wide range of issues, it seems particularly interesting to trace the perception of the phenomenon of "change" itself. Within the scope of this article, it is not possible, for obvious reasons, to describe this phenomenon in depth. It is only possible to indicate the issues that potentially constitute, as mentioned, an interesting research topic, both qualitative - analytical and empirical - as well as source. Therefore, the following text is aimed at an attempt to indicate sources rather than a description of the visible manifestations of the phenomenon. It is an attempt to capture the underlying process rather than the tools used in the design and construction of objects and the effects of their use.

Opis:: The complexity in automotive manufacturing increased enormously in the last couple of years. Reasons therefore are due to a widened product portfolio, enlarged manufacturing capacities distributed over several manufacturing sites and a large number of suppliers feeding the manufacturing network around the world. The factories are under permanent change and must be planned, configured and adapted in a permanent way. Consequently, planning tasks go along with a comparable degree of complexity as the manufacturing itself and must stand the continuous change manufacturing is faced with. Therefore, a factory model representing the essential information about the products, the technological resources and their interdependencies must be built for planning purposes. In context of long-term strategic planning tasks, structural changes are in specific focus and must be considered in the model. In this paper, a model of a factory structure, which can be used for the strategic planning of a manufacturing network is proposed. The factory structure model is based on a current configuration and has the architecture to consider future change within forecasts and scenarios.

Opis:: Ontologies enjoy growing interest as facilitators for intra- and inter-organizational semantic integration of different management activities in the ICT and automation intensive industries. This work provides a proposal of core ontology that addresses the operational level of discrete manufacturing and logistics processes. Although only partial research results are presented, they go beyond published knowledge because they involve such important aspects of complexity as the spatiotemporal transformations, including the mereological one.
Ontologie zyskują rosnące zainteresowanie jako narzędzie wewnątrz- i międzyorganizacyjnej integracji semantycznej w zarządzaniu tam, gdzie intensywnie wykorzystuje się informatyzację i automatyzację. W artykule przedstawiono propozycję ontologii rdzeniowej dla poziomu operacyjnego dyskretnych procesów wytwarzania i logistyki. Choć zaprezentowano tylko część wyników, to wykraczają one poza publikowaną wiedzę, gdyż ujęto takie aspekty złożoności, jak transformacje chwilowo-przestrzenne, w tym mereologiczne.

Spośród bardzo wielu funkcji zarządzania kapitałem ludzkim jedną z najważniejszych ról spełnia motywowanie, które ma na celu odpowiednie rozbudzenie motywacji i takie nią kierowanie, aby pracownicy właściwie angażowali się w swoją pracę i obowiązki. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie różnorodności czynników określanych mianem motywacyjnych, które wykorzystywane są w praktyce zarządzania, a także potwierdzenie tezy, że tylko właściwie sformułowana i wdrażana polityka motywacyjna zapewnia efektywne realizowanie celów przedsiębiorstwa. Podstawową kwestią zaś warunkującą racjonalne stosowanie systemów motywacyjnych jest dostosowanie ich do otoczenia zewnętrznego i wewnętrznego przedsiębiorstwa. Oznacza to zapewnienie mu zdolności adaptacyjnych i chłonności na zmiany w otoczeniu zarówno wewnętrznym, jak i zewnętrznym.
In the contemporary world effective management of an organization and creating its future have become the domain of the people, who are its employees and represent its capital. Stocks and financial resources, their quality and effects they bring, depend on the people who use them to make products and services, which are willingly purchased by customers. Among many functions of managing human resources, one of the most important roles is motivation, aiming at proper development of motivation and conducting it in such a way so that the employees could be properly involved in their work and duties. The aim of this article is to show a variety of factors, called motivating factors, which are used in management and verification of the thesis, that only properly formulated and implemented motivating policy assures the right realization of the aims set by an enterprise. The basic issue conditioning the efficient use of motivating systems is adapting them to the external and internal environment of a corporation. It means giving the corporation adaptation abilities and absorbing changes in both external and internal environment.

Opis:: The dynamics of the processes taking place in an environment, which is rendered in the altered perception of the character of this environment, induces a need to find answers to the following questions: (1) How do managers perceive an environment in the dimensions of stability/ changeability and friendliness/unfriendliness? (2) Is there a correlation between the stability/changeability and friendliness/unfriendliness of an environment, i.e. if an environment is more stable, is it perceived as more friendly, and if an environment is more changeable is it perceived as unfriendly? (3) Does environmental stability/changeability as well as friendliness/unfriendliness exert any influence on organizational effectiveness? In an attempt to answer the above quoted questions, the article’s objective has been defined as a discussion on the interdependencies perceived by managers between an environment’s dimensions of stability/changeability and friendliness/unfriendliness (analysed in terms of institutional categories) and the organizational effectiveness of Polish enterprises. The managers evaluated the legal environment as the least stable. In their opinion, that milieu was also more intimidating than friendly. Concurrently, a technological environment was perceived by the respondents as the most stable and favourable. The results of the effected research allow forming a conclusion concerning the existing correlation between the friendliness and stability of particular categories of an environment, at the same time pointing out to the occurrence of correlations between stability/changeability and friendliness/unfriendliness of some categories of an environment and the organizational effectiveness of the examined enterprises.

Opis:: This work investigates advantages of ontologies as the means for semantic integration of management activities. Semantic technologies are recently recognized as crucial management technologies in domains, which intensively exploit ICT and automation. Ontologies facilitate intra- and inter-organizational integration of different layers, functions, domains and processes of management. Ontologies enhance changeability, mostly in reference to business resources and processes. New forms of organizational structures and processes may also emerge.
W artykule analizuje się zalety ontologii jako narzędzia integracji semantycznej w zarządzaniu. Technologie semantyczne są ostatnio uznawane za bardo ważne technologie zarządzania tam, gdzie intensywnie wykorzystuje się informatyzację i automatyzację. Ontologie mogą wspomagać integrację wewnątrz- i międzyorganizacyjną w odniesieniu do różnych szczebli, funkcji, obszarów i procesów zarządzania. Ontologie wspomagają osiąganie podatności na zmiany, zwłaszcza w przypadku zasobów i procesów gospodarczych. Ponadto, możliwe jest kreowanie nowatorskich struktur organizacyjnych i procesowych.

Opis:: Narracyjna koncepcja tożsamości, którą prezentuje Paul Ricoeur, ujmuje zdecydowanie szerszą perspektywę niż tylko perspektywa takożsamości osób w czasie rozumiana jako identyczność podmiotu x w czasie t1 i czasie t2. Koncepcja ta bowiem mówi nie tylko o byciu tym samym czy takim samym, ale również o byciu sobą. Bycie sobą to charakterystyczne jedynie dla człowieka wyzwanie rzucone czasowi, gdzie podmiot – mimo towarzyszących mu zmian – pozostaje sobą. Z myśli Ricoeura można jednak wydobyć jeszcze więcej, gdzie bycie sobą jest realizacją własnego, niepowtarzalnego etosu danego w ustanowieniu w byciu. To ustanowienie w byciu obejmuje kontekst zakorzenienia w historii, tradycji, kulturze, ale również najbardziej zindywidualizowane odniesienie do Boga.
The narrative concept of identity presented by Paul Ricoeur places embraces a far wider perspective than the perspective of people’s identity in time alone, understood as the subject’s identity in time t1 and time t2. For Ricouer’s conception speaks not only of being the same or being exactly the same but also of being oneself. Being oneself is a challenge characteristic only of human beings, a challenge thrown down against time, by which the subject – despite the changes that accompany him or her – remains itself. Yet it is possible to take Ricoeur’s thought even further, and to say that being oneself is a realisation of a personal, unique ethos given in an enactment in being. This enactment in being includes the background of roots in history, tradition, culture and also, most of all, individualised reference to God.

Opis:: W pracy przeanalizowano zmienność stanów wody jeziora Ciemino w latach 1980-1994. W oparciu o codzienne obserwacje prowadzone przez IMGW określono stany ekstremalne (maksymalne i minimalne), średnie roczne i średnie miesięczne. Maksymalny odnotowany stan wody wyniósł 212cm, minimalny 130, różnica między nimi to 82cm. Średni stan wody w analizowanym okresie to 160cm. Amplituda średnich rocznych stanów wody to zaledwie 30cm. Stany wody w układzie rocznym najwyższe wartości osiągają w kwietniu (średnia z wielolecia tego miesiąca wynosi 172cm) a najniższe w październiku (148cm). Wiosenne maksimum należy wiązać z okresem roztopów zimowych, po których następuje sukcesywne sczerpywanie zasobów wodnych w zlewni a ich minimum przypada na jesień. Ponadto ustalono tendencje zmian poziomu wody w analizowanym wieloleciu, która wykazuje przebieg malejący. Podobną tendencję wykazują opady. Funkcjonowanie tego jeziora z uwagi na jego cechy (jezioro odpływowe, stosunkowo niewielka zlewnia, znaczny udział terenów leśnych, brak większych elementów osadniczych, przemysłu, itd.) uzależnione jest głównie od czynników naturalnych- w przypadku stanów wód od opadów.
The work analyses the variability of the water level of Lake Ciemino in the period between 1980 and 1994. On the basis of daily observations conducted by Institute of Meteorology and Water Management there have been established the extreme levels (maximal and minimal),and average yearly and monthly levels. The maximum water level record was 212cm, the minimal was 13cm , and the difference between them was 82 cm. The average water level in that period was 160 cm. The average yearly amplitude of water level is only 30 cm. Throughout the year the highest water level is in April ( the average water level in April in the years 1980 -1994 is 172 cm) and the lowest is in October (148cm). The maximum water level in spring must be related to winter thaw, after which there is a gradual water decrease in the basin , while the minimal water level is in autumn. Additionally, it has been shown that there is a tendency of the water level to get lower and lower in the time period analysed. A similar tendency can be observed as far as precipitation is concerned. Because of the charateristics of Lake Ciemino ( its open character, a relatively small drainage basin, a considerable area of forest, no big settlements or industry) its functioning mainly depends on natural factors, with the water level depending on precipitation.

Opis:: The subject of the volume Changes in a human life is the process of the broadly understood transformation taking place in the lives of both individuals and whole communities. It is a process that may have various faces and characters and that may refer to numerous fields of research and various contexts. Therefore, the group of notions that the authors of this volume focus on is comprised of those related to the problems of disability, fatherhood, prostitution, intelligence, corporate work or migration. The included articles are of an overview, exploratory and empirical nature. However, all of them bring the reader closer to the processuality, changeability and dynamism of the lives lived by individuals and communities.
Przedmiotem tomu zatytułowanego Zmiany w życiu człowieka jest proces szeroko rozumianej zmiany zachodzącej zarówno w życiu jednostek, jak i całych zbiorowości. Proces, który może mieć różne oblicza oraz charakter i który może odnosić się do wielu obszarów badawczych oraz rozmaitych kontekstów. Z tego względu wśród podejmowanych przez autorów niniejszego tomu zagadnień znalazły się te odnoszące się do problematyki niepełnosprawności, ojcostwa, prostytucji, inteligencji, pracy korporacyjnej czy imigracji. Zawarte w nim artykuły mają charakter przeglądowy, eksploracyjny, jak i empiryczny. Wszystkie jednak odsłaniają przed czytelnikiem procesualność, zmienność i dynamizm życia jednostek oraz zbiorowości.

Opis:: W artykule opisano zastosowanie map anamorficznych w kartograficznym modelowaniu zmienności zjawisk. Podjęto próbę klasyfikacji metod przedstawiania zmienności zjawisk ze względu na sposób prezentacji. Dokonana została ocena zastosowania takich map pod względem zgodności z podstawowymi celami prezentacji kartograficznej. Jako przykłady ilustracyjne pokazane zostały powierzchniowe mapy anamorficzne.
The paper describes cartographical modelling the changeability of phenomena. Author proposed the classification of the methods of representing the changeability of phenomena because of the method of presentation. Was executed valuation of the use such the maps in relation to the basic aims of the cartographical presentation. As illustrative examples were showed area cartograms.

Opis:: Prezentowany artykuł dotyczy projektowania fasady dynamicznej w oparciu o cyfrowe przetwarzanie danych wejściowych. Ponadto praca ta jest wprowadzeniem do badań naukowych bazujących na komputerowych metodach formatowania przestrzeni. Na tym etapie autorka skupia się na doborze parametrów w projektowaniu fasady dynamicznej. Główny nacisk kładziony jest na aspekt czasu w architekturze. Artykuł podzielony został na cztery części (wprowadzenie do tematu, omówienie aspektu czasu w architekturze, omówienie fasad dynamicznych i studium przypadku) oraz podsumowanie.
Presented paper is devoted to the problem of dynamic facades design. This article is introduction to Ph. D. study which focused on computer’s methods of formatting spaces in architecture. At this stage of research author focuses on parametric dates in input in dynamic facades where great attention is paying on time aspect and subjectivism in parameters selection. The paper consist four part (explanation of subject and main research goal, theoretical background, discussion of different kind of dynamic facades and case study) and conclusion.

Opis:: W artykule zaprezentowano wskaźnik wczesnego ostrzegania o powstawaniu tzw. bąbla spekulacyjnego w związku z nadmiernymi oczekiwaniami inwestorów w odniesieniu do wzrostu cen akcji na giełdzie papierów wartościowych. Jeżeli zaprezentowany wskaźnik przekroczy poziom 100 punktów, to rośnie prawdopodobieństwo, że osiągnięty poziom ceny danych akcji stanowi efekt tzw. bąbla spekulacyjnego. Istotna jest również informacja odnośnie do liczby spółek pozwalająca na obliczenie skumulowanego wskaźnika zachłanności dla całej giełdy.
Presentation of early warning indicator, which could inform about creating a speculative bubble and excessive investors expectations, which could provide a synthetic picture of excessive shares value on the stock exchange. If this indicator is above 100 points, then there is high likelihood that the share price is resulted by speculative bubble. It is important to know how many companies show this kind of threat and what is the total value of cumulated greed index.

Opis:: Tym, co wyróżnia Zapiski myśliwego Turgieniewa i Zwierciadło morza Conrada, jest wierna obserwacja połączona z niezwykłą świadomością przedstawianych miejsc. W swoisty realistyczny i impresjonistyczny sposób obaj pisarze ukazują wieczną przyrodę – las i morze – jako potężną siłę obojętną na los przemijającego człowieka, jako zwierciadło życia, sumienia i problemów. Świat przyrody – kompletny i samowystarczalny – egzystuje doskonale bez ingerencji człowieka. Zarówno nieprzeniknione, ponure lasy, jak i bezkres samotnych wód są czynnikami mającymi wpływ na losy bohaterów Conrada i Turgieniewa lub kształtującymi je. Natura wpływa na emocje bohaterów i daje poczucie ciągłości istnienia. W Zapiskach myśliwego oraz w Zwierciadle morza człowiek żyje blisko natury, a nawet w jedności z nią. Refleksje nad przyrodą skłaniają do rozmyślań nad przemijaniem rzeczy i dążeniem do wolności. Podczas gdy w Zapiskach Turgieniewa przyroda jest wyznacznikiem wartości moralnych, kryterium oceny działań człowieka oraz obrazem jego wewnętrznego świata, u Conrada stanowi pretekst do wyrażania wartości etycznych – przede wszystkim etosu pracy, wierności, honoru, solidarności i poszukiwania sensu istnienia.
Both Turgenev’s A Sportsman’s Sketches and Conrad’s The Mirror of the Sea demonstrate faithful observation and rendering of life and an unusual awareness of place. In a specific realistic and impressionistic manner they depict eternal nature – the forest and the sea – as a powerful force indifferent to transient man, as a mirror of life, human conscience and problems. Nature is complete and self-sufficient; the world seems to work perfectly well without man. Both the impenetrable, sombre forests and the vast solitude of waters become factors that affect or shape the destiny of Conrad’s and Turgenev’s heroes. Nature highlights the characters’ emotions and provides a sense of continuity of existence. In A Sportsman’s Sketches and The Mirror of the Sea man lives close to nature, even in union with it. Reflections upon nature lead to bewailing the transience of things and to similar communications of the theme of freedom. However, whereas in Turgenev’s Sketches, nature is a force capable to influence the character of man and determine his moral development, Conrad uses nature as a pretext for the expression of ethical values – mainly work, fidelity, honour, solidarity and a search for the meaning of existence.
