The social role of a person, to a large extent imposed by the person’s sex, may change. The social role is given by a social construct called gender, while sex is given biologically. Gender theory or gender studies is a branch of science exploring sex and gender. Besides and in contrast to it, there is gender ideology, or better anti-gender ideology, standing in fierce opposition to every mention of gender. Gender theory uses rational arguments, anti-gender ideology usually does not. It may be portrayed by the example of the Istanbul Convention about violence against women and domestic violence. Its topic is not gender, but it uses the word gender from time to time as a useful instrument of gender theory. However, the Convention is presented by its opponents as an instrument for spreading gender ideology. The Catholic Church or their bishops in the Czech Republic are usually of the same opinion, they are also manipulated or are the manipulators themselves. This way their opinion does not correspond to the teaching of the Vatican documents and is misleading for many Czech Catholics. Nevertheless, the influence of the Catholic bishops is diminishing in many aspects, including the question of gender.

O presente trabalho pretende demonstrar como a ascensão e a influência de uma direita radicalizada, com características neoliberais e neoconservadoras, a nível global, impactou as discussões de gênero e diferença sexual nas escolas do interior de Santa Catarina a partir da emergência de uma ideologia antigênero. Este trabalho apresenta ainda como ocorre esse ataque local, quais são as suas estratégias (dispositivos) e qual o impacto dessas ações na comunidade e indivíduos pertencentes a ela. Utilizando do enfoque da História Oral e adotando uma metodologia da pesquisa multissituada, entrevistamos docentes, das 6 regiões do estado catarinense. Esses ataques ocorreram (e ocorrem) de forma organizada através de censuras e perseguições nas redes sociotécnicas, de políticos, religiosos, imprensa e da própria comunidade escolar ao abordar a temática em questão. Apontamos ainda que a intensão do neoconservadorismo é o silenciamento dessas temáticas em sala de aula. No entanto, essa tentativa de censurar e proibir, tem tido efeito contrário e positivo na vontade de saber mais, por parte dos(as) estudantes e na própria resistência dos(as) docentes a esses ataques.
Resumen: El presente trabajo pretende demostrar cómo el ascenso e influencia de una derecha radicalizada, con características neoliberales y neoconservadoras, a nivel global, impactó las discusiones de género y diferencia sexual en las escuelas del interior de Santa Catarina a partir de la emergencia de una ideología antigénero. Este trabajo presenta aún cómo ocurre ese ataque local, cuáles son sus estrategias (dispositivos) y cuál el impacto de esas acciones en la comunidad y individuos pertenecientes a ella. Utilizando del enfoque de la Historia Oral y adoptando una metodología de la investigación multisituada, entrevistamos docentes, de las 6 regiones del estado catarinense. Esos ataques ocurrieron (y ocurren) de forma organizada a través de censuras y persecuciones en las redes sociotécnicas, de políticos, religiosos, prensa y de la propia comunidad escolar al abordar la temática en cuestión. Apuntamos aún que la intención del neoconservadurismo es el silenciamiento de esas temáticas en el aula. Sin embargo, esa tentativa de censurar y prohibir, ha tenido efecto contrario y positivo en la voluntad de saber más, por parte de los(as) estudiantes y en la propia resistencia de los(as) docentes a esos ataques.
This paper aims to demonstrate how the rise and influence of a radicalized right-wing, with neoliberal and neoconservative characteristics, at a global level, has impacted discussions of gender and sexual difference in schools in the interior of Santa Catarina (Brazil) from the emergence of an anti-gender ideology. This paper also presents how this local attack occurs, what are its strategies (devices), and what the impact of these actions is on the community and individuals belonging to it. Using the Oral History approach and adopting a multi-situated research methodology, we interviewed teachers from the 6 regions of the state of Santa Catarina. These attacks have occurred (and continue to occur) in an organized manner through censorship and persecution on sociotechnical networks, by politicians, religious leaders, the press, and the school community itself when addressing the issue in question. We also point out that the intention of neoconservatism is to silence these issues in the classroom. However, this attempt to censor and prohibit has had the opposite and positive effect of increasing students' desire to learn more and the resistance of teachers to these attacks.
