Opis:: SPP XXII 95 (early 3rd century ad) is concerned with the leading priests of the sanctuary of Soknopaios, who were arrested on account of the suspicious death of a clothes vendor. Their interrogations, however, brought no result, and now efforts are being made to have them released. In the present papyrus, the head of the office summarises the state of affairs in order to append it as a ‘cover-letter’ to the petition submitted to the strategos.

Opis:: This article discusses the history of P. Berol. inv. 6848, known for the Demotic temple inventory published as P. Zauzich 12, and provides the first edition of the Greek account on the back, which belongs to the archive of the Soknopaiou Nesos priest Pakysis (TM Arch 165). An appendix lays out the story of its reappearance in the early 1990s as part of a group of thirteen Berlin papyri in private hands and the negotiations and maneuvers that eventually led to the acquisition of this group by the National Museum in Warsaw in 1998.

Opis:: Little is known about priests and how temples functioned in Ptolemaic Egypt. This paper provides an insight into the organisation and hierarchy of temples under the Ptolemies. The main aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the titles and functions of temple personnel by analysing documents from the archive of the temple of Soknopaios and Isis Nepherses in the village of Soknopaiou Nesos (Dimeh).
