Subject and purpose of work: The article presents the role of social relations between organic farmers and organic farming environment (representatives of local government, non-governmental organizations) in the development of organic farming in the Świdwin County. The aim of the paper is to explore the role of local leader and social capital in the process of organic the farming development in selected geographical area. Materials and methods: The research is based on both the analysis of existing data and the results of the study (Individual In-depth Interviews - IDIs and Focus Group Interview - FGI) carried out in 2016 with organic farmers and organic farming stakeholders incl. representatives of local government and non-governmental organizations. Results: The study shows a positive correlation between high level of social capital and a strong sector of organic farming. The key significance is given to a local leader activity. Conclusions: The development of a close network of social relations between organic farmers, and between organic farmers and their environment (representatives of local government and non-governmental organizations) determines the development of a strong sector of organic farming in the area. An important condition for the organic farming development is also recognition of this type of resources by the local authorities.
Przedmiot i cel pracy: Artykuł ukazuje wpływ relacji społecznych pomiędzy rolnikami prowadzącymi gospodarstwa ekologiczne i otoczeniem instytucjonalnym (przedstawicielami samorządu lokalnego, instytucji pozarządowych) na rozwój rolnictwa ekologicznego na terenie powiatu świdwińskiego. Celem jest ukazanie roli silnego lokalnego lidera oraz kapitału społecznego w rozwoju rolnictwa ekologicznego na wybranym obszarze. Materiały i metody: W opracowaniu wykorzystano zarówno dane zastane dotyczące badanego obszaru jak i wyniki badań własnych realizowanych w 2016 roku (indywidualnych wywiadów pogłębionych – ang. IDI, oraz grupowego wywiadu zogniskowanego – ang. FGI) z rolnikami prowadzącymi gospodarstwa ekologiczne oraz z przedstawicielami samorządu i instytucji pozarządowych. Wyniki: Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że istnieje pozytywna korelacja pomiędzy wysokim kapitałem społecznym a silnym sektorem rolnictwa ekologicznego. Duże znaczenie odgrywa lider lokalny. Wnioski: Wypracowanie gęstej sieci relacji społecznych pomiędzy rolnikami prowadzącymi gospodarstwa ekologiczne, a także rolnikami i przedstawicielami władz samorządowych i instytucji pozarządowych warunkuje rozwój silnego sektora rolnictwa ekologicznego na danym terenie. Ważnym warunkiem rozwoju rolnictwa ekologicznego jest również dostrzeżenie i docenienie tego typu zasobu przez lokalne władze.

The purpose of this paper is to attract attention to the extent of mobbing, especially in the public sector and to its destructive character. Mobbing reduces the value of human capital because of incurred psychological and health losses. It influences innovation negatively and in consequence leads to lowering the effectiveness of an organization. Negative effects of mobbing may be also seen in the social and individual dimensions. According to Heinz Leymann, abandoning moral norms, wrongly comprehended tolerance are creating a climate for practising different forms of hidden violence and psychical terror. Psychological war of this kind in workplace involves the abuse of power and manipulation. Once it has appeared, it is – as put by M.F. Hirigoyen – like a machine, which set in motion, may smash everything on its way. This asymmetric and destructive interaction can only keep strengthening unless someone from the outside intervenes decisively. Yet, the introduction of the notion of mobbing to labour code does not provide sufficient protection from mobbing in workplace – regulations leave too wide, unfilled space which needs to be filled up with concrete solutions and measures. On one hand, action taken by an organization should have a formal, administrative and organizational character. On the other hand, it should take into account the ethical sphere of an organization’s functioning. It should put special emphasis on the maintenance and the development of integrity, one of the most important dimensions of the conception of trust.

Germany is currently a very interesting example of co-existence of different cultures and nations. Among 82 millions of the country's inhabitants 8,5% does not admit to be of German nationality. Whatis interesting is that Germany regards only Frisians, Danes and Serbs as minorities. All other ethnic groups living in FGR do not have the status of national minority. Despite not having such status, there are many more or less official organizations gathering the representatives of each nationality. Some of them are of cultural, other of religious character, some of them are classified as groups and extremist organizations. Among the extremist organizations there are distinguished three groups: Islamic, left-hand extremist and nationalistic. It is characteristic, that mostly are those organizations branches of groups from other countries.

The distinction between formal organizational studies and studies of international organizations is minimal, because both help to widen the idea of creating an original position for better combinations of favorable circumstances or situations in human affairs. The chapter will explain, the origin of the term international organization (OR); historical roots of or studies; and define or; analyze the types of ORs in the contemporary world; reveals the relationship between the international relation (IR) and regime theories application in the OR’s studies; and the impact of the globalization. The chapter also unveils the relationships between organizational sociology and OR and finally it gives a general outline on the application institution theory in the study of OR following a brief summary. Organizations have the ability of inspiring and bringing people in concert to achieve combined goals. They are accountable for determining the intelligence needed to meet their goals. This chapter provides a glimmer of international organizations theory, origin, historical account, definitions and utilization of contemporary academic world intertwined with the international relations, regime and globalization as well as the organizational sociological theories and perspectives can be utilized to study of international organizations. This chapter will help to understand the historical account of international organization, pedagogical development and contemporary theories and practices of international organizations and organizational sociology.

The considerations included in the article resulted from several years of research carried out by the author on the activity of destination management organizations (DMO) in various European countries. Their purpose is to identify possible implications for science and practical solutions resulting from an assessment of the activity of destination management organizations. In the article, the most important changes that occur in the organizations examined are indicated with emphasis on a visible transition from the marketing orientation to more comprehensive tourism management in a given area. Those observations originated from the author's previous research described in a separate monograph. That initial part of study was followed by the research carried out in March 2016, which allowed for verification of the previously obtained results based on the opinions of the representatives of 34 European DMOs. The participants of the study highly appreciated the recommendations and solutions proposed by the author aimed at streamlining the activities of destination management organizations. Their interest also convinced the author of the need of further research in relation to those entities.

Healthcare organizations play an important role in every society. Those organizations are run connecting two conflicted fields: economics and ethics, facing a problem of what is more important: economic accounts or human's life. This perspective makes organizational culture in healthcare institutions seem much more important. Ethical codex, values system, norms of behavior and, of course, management methods - all those factors shape doctor-patient relationships and, as a result, influence human health and life. Thus, creating the organizational culture maximizing the medical staff effectiveness of lifesaving, is of interest to every society. In this paper, the author tried to answer two essential questions - what kind of organizational culture would be the most adequate for healthcare organizations and how to diagnose the organizational culture - measure something immeasurable.

Strong farmers’ individualism limits their competitiveness. Smaller commercial agricultural producers find themselves at particular disadvantage. The sustainable agricultural paradigm requires farmers to receive adequate and regular income (which is independent of the crisis factors), and to preserve an environment and a biodiversity. However, Lithuanian farmers rarely take common actions in the market. The aim of article is to create an organizational system that allows different sizes of sea buckthorn growers’ farms to work together merging into cooperatives and producers’ organizations. There is suggested a merging system for different size buckthorn growers’ farms which allows unionize local, zonal and country cooperatives

The JDC is an American Jewish organization that assists overseas Jewish communities in distress. It is responsible to “American Jewry” and those organizations that fund it. Bauer (1974, 19) argued that the JDC has been guided by its founding “pledge of impartiality – it steers clear of political involvements” and takes pride in being “probably the only really non-partisan organization in Jewish life.” This paper examines the role of the JDC in caring for Soviet émigrés who left on visas for Israel but chose to resettle elsewhere. They were known as “dropouts” (Noshrim in Hebrew). It also deals with the JDC policy toward recently settled Russian Jews who left Israel to resettle elsewhere. In its work with Soviet Jewish emigres did the JDC serve the interests of the Israeli government, its donors and or the emigres? Did the JDC abide by its pledge of impartiality? Did the JDC try to force them to resettle in Israel against their wishes? The paper focuses on the spring of 1976 when the number of dropouts outnumbered those resettling in Israel. This led to a joint committee of Israelis and American Jews to coordinate a response. The ‘freedom of choice’ debate ensued; should Soviet Jews resettle in Israel or have the freedom to choose where to resettle? The findings here are based on archival records in the JDC, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), the CJF (Jewish federations) and the American Jewish Committee (AJC). The author also conducted interviews and reviewed secondary sources. The paper should contribute to a better understanding of the JDC and its past ties to Israel and the American Jewish community.

The objective of the paper is to analyse the compliance of the percentage-based income tax allocation to a public benefit organization with the principle of equality. The problem is examined with regard to beneficiaries of the allocated funds and decisionmakers. The research hypothesis presupposes that this principle is compromised in many aspects. The conducted analysis refers also to other tax law constructs related to public benefit activities (donations and volunteering). The above-defined topic is discussed using the dogmatic-legal and empirical method. A comparative legal analysis of the construct in question is also carried out to explore its practical application as juxtaposed not only with the principle of equality, but also taking into consideration the principle of subsidiarity, the idea of civil society and the concept of tax as a gratuitous performance. Based on the analysis, the desired trajectory of change in legislation is defined.

The subject of the article is associated with the issue of management of organizations in a changing, dynamic environment. Formulating strategy of development of these organizations requires from the managers setting and achieving such goals of functioning on a competitive market which involve longer, at least medium perspective and present new possibilities for the development of their organizations. Thus, the goal of this article is to draw attention to the chances for development of organizations, which result from adopting the option of making the strategy of action international in character. The very process of internationalization of an organization can be understood in various ways, but can be initiated and carried out even within the framework of functioning of an organization on the domestic market, however, it has to be consciously aimed at activities with an international character.
