In this paper we discuss how and whether moral adjectives fit a well-known semantics for gradable adjectives. We first test whether moral adjectives are relative or absolute adjectives. The preliminary results suggest that moral adjectives don’t fall neatly under either category. In the second part we tackle the question of the scale of moral adjectives in a more theoretical fashion, i.e. by investigating their possible scales with mathematically precise tools.

This paper uses communicative-pragmatic analysis and a corpus-based method to investigate multidimensional axiological interpretation of Europäische Identität notion as a unifying political concept. The study focuses on European identity discourse as presented in German mass media. The study shows strategic relevance of the concept and its unifying potential both within the EU framework, and in wider European domain. The analysis reveals that primary and secondary collocators actualized with the notion convey both the topicality and inconsistency of the concept. Moreover, the results show that identity and personal / collective self-determination discourse is characterized by polemic nature and various evaluations that predominantly feature the tactics of doubt and mistrust to the unifying potential of European identity concept.

Celami artykułu są podjęcie próby usystematyzowania dorobku z dziedziny efektywności ekonomicznej oraz wskazanie występujących w tym zakresie dylematów definiowania i pomiaru. Opracowanie należy traktować jako głos w dyskusji na temat głównych cech badanej kategorii oceny funkcjonowania organizacji, procesu itp. Dlatego w pierwszej jego części zaprezentowano spojrzenie na efektywność ekonomiczną z perspektywy nauk o zarządzaniu. Następnie określono wpływ ekonomii i finansów na rozwój zarządzania w badanym obszarze. W trzeciej części wskazano główne dylematy pomiaru efektywności ekonomicznej. Podkreślono, że powinna ona być analizowana i oceniana z wykorzystaniem podejścia wielowymiarowego.
The main objectives of the paper are to collect selected research in the field of economic efficiency and define the dilemmas in its definition and measurement. Presented study is a discussion that focuses on the main characteristics of economic efficiency in operation of a organization or proceeding of processes etc. In the first part of the paper the management approach to research issue was delivered. Next the Economics and Finance sciences influence on management economic efficiency was discussed. In the third part the main dilemmas in measurement of economic efficiency were pointed. The findings agreed that multidimensional approach should be dominated in analysis and assessment of economic efficiency.

Acting in the area of migration, research interest of many scientific disciplines are the subject of interdisciplinary research, as well as gathered in a circle one discipline. The complexity of the concept of migration results in many ways of its classification; often diverse perspective to look at the processes of displacement reveals the complex nature of the criteria for classification, although sometimes it turns out that they do not cover all the ways of perceiving and analyzing. Migration as a social phenomenon have been and is shaped by diverse conglomeration of contemporary factors and conditions.
Миграции, представляя собой область исследования ряда научных дисциплин, стали как междисциплинарным предметом изучения, так и сосредоточенным в кругу одной дисциплины. Сложность понятия миграции приводит к нескольким способам его классификации; нередко разнообразные взгляды на процессы перемещения показывают трудности критериев классификации, хотя иногда оказывается, что они не исчерпывают всех видов восприятия и анализирования миграции. Миграции, как социальное явление, формировались всегда и сейчас как конгломерат разнообразных факторов и условий.

The presented paper is based on extensive multivariate studies conducted in some academic centres of Poland which differ in location (the centre - the borderland) and socio-economic potential. What prevails in the theoretical sphere are references to studies in the area of social psychology of development and to the idea of constructivism. The research results provide a lot of information on teacher education. On the basis of the conducted diagnoses, four dimensions of learning are indicated by the author (identity of the professional role, experiences in relations with the Other, practice, social participation) as well as the process of cogeneration. This constitutes a thought provoking material, which encourages changes in contents and methods (in the current model) of training teachers. Such an approach to teacher education seems appropriate and needed, in compliance with the critical-creative view on educational reality and striving for positive solutions to social (thus also educational) problems. The study enriches knowledge in the field of pedeutology, intercultural education, and some other areas of pedagogy (as a scientific discipline) and education (as a space of social life).

Zawarte w nim zostały aktualne, współczesne treści, poglądy, ustalenia, przewidywania, odniesienia oraz wizje dotyczące dokonujących się obecnie przemian cywilizacyjnych (ustrojowych, gospodarczych, społecznych, kulturowych, ekonomicznych i oświatowych) stanowiących i generujących oraz powodujących wielowymiarowość i różnorodność logistyki w teorii i praktyce, ustalając określony zakres badań naukowych i praktykę gospodarczą dziedzin bezpieczeństwa i obronności w obszarze nauk o społeczeństwie. Wielowymiarowości i różnorodność logistyki towarzyszy zatem „stały” powiększający swój zakres przedmiotowy problem dotyczący tego co jest a co nie jest logistyką? Niewątpliwie wskazane wcześniej przemiany cywilizacyjne są naturalną konsekwencją rozwoju (ewolucji) teorii logistyki i jej praktycznego zastosowania.
The content of the article was presented and discussed among other during the international scientific conference at the Department of Management and Command of the Military Academy of Arts. The elaboation covers updated contemporary issues, opinions, prognoses, references and visions concerning ongoing civilization changes (systemic, economic, social, cultural and educational)generating the variety of logistics and causing its multidimensionality in theory and practice outlining the certain range of scientific research and economic practice of the security and defense branches in the field of social sciences. Since the variety and multidimensionality of logistics have been accompanied with its permanently increasing topical range of the problem concerning the choice what is logistics or not. Undoubtedly, the formerly indicated civilization changes are a natural consequence of development (evolution) of the logistics theory and its practical use.

This article focuses on the issue of innovation within enterprise strategies, with a particular emphasis on the value-creation process and the multidimensional nature of innovation. To analyze this, the focal point was the overall structure of business operations, with a particular emphasis on the involvement of employees. It was also noted that economic entities are subject to generic, market, and HR conditions. The main objective of this article is to highlight the relationships between innovation within enterprises and the conditions under which they operate. This includes the challenges faced by employees in generating creative and innovative ideas and implementing new solutions. Two research hypotheses were put forward in this article. The first hypothesis, H1, assumes that a company’s overall profile is a crucial determinant in creating value through innovation within organizations. The second hypothesis, H2, assumes that market requirements in terms of creating customer value will drive employees to implement innovation defined in the company’s strategies. The importance of open innovation in business strategic decisions was also highlighted. Using statistical methods, these hypotheses were verified through a survey conducted in various enterprises.

This article gives an overview of dimensional approach to religiousness; from the socioreligious core dimensions of religiousness of Stark & Glock (1968) to interdisciplinary model of religiosity od Huber with core dimensions, the centrality and content of religiosity (2003; 2008). The overview demonstrates the development of the succesive concepts of dimensional approach to religion as well as the constructed assesment techniques and their empirical applications. Then are the five core dimensions of religiousness (intelectual, ideological, experiencial, ritual, concequencial) synthetically organized by psychological contents. Especially the interdisciplinary model of religiosity of Huber is suitable for monitoring and interpreting religiousness of individuals, groups, of pantheistic or theistic patterns of religious expressions.

Artykuł omawia niemiecką monografię poświęconą prawu alimentacyjnemu Unterhaltsprozess (Eschenbruch, Wolters Kluwer 2021). Autor poszukuje wielowymiarowości alimentacji zarówno w wymiarze krajowym, jak i międzynarodowym, a ocena uwzględnia interdyscyplinarny i transgraniczny charakter tej problematyki, która łączy prawo rodzinne z prawem publicznym, socjalnym, procesowym, podatkowym, europejskim oraz prywatnym międzynarodowym. W tych ramach omówiono zakres i strukturę monografii, która nie ogranicza się do przestawienia aktualnego stanu prawnego, ale dokumentuje również ewolucję prawa alimentacyjnego, wytycza nowe kierunki rozwoju, a także zawiera propozycje zmian legislacyjnych. Autor wskazuje cechy wyróżniające ocenianą monografię od innych opracowań dostępnych na rynku podkreślając wyjątkowo szeroką analizę orzecznictwa sądów apelacyjnych. Szerszej analizie i ocenie poddano zagadnienia związane z pieczą naprzemienną, alimentacją pomałżeńską, świadczeniami socjalnymi, pozycją prawną ojca biologicznego oraz alimentacją transgraniczną. Z perspektywy prawnoporównawczej zauważono natomiast skromne odniesienia do prawa obcego, które warto poszerzyć i usystematyzować. Oceny monografii dokonano zarówno pod względem naukowym jak i praktycznym. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono przy tym na możliwość wykorzystania niemieckich regulacji i doświadczenia w polskim porządku prawnym.
This article reviews the German book on the maintenance law Unterhaltsprozess (Eschenbruch, Wolters Kluwer 2021). The author searches for the multidimensionality of maintenance, both in the national and international dimension, and the assessment takes into account the interdisciplinary and the cross-border nature of this issue, which combines family law with public, social, procedural, tax, European, and private international law. Within this framework, the scope and structure of the monograph is discussed, which is not limited to presenting the current legal regulation, but also documents the evolution of the maintenance law, sets new directions for development, and includes proposals for legislative changes. The author indicates features that distinguish the reviewed monograph from other studies available on the market, emphasizing the exceptionally broad analysis of the jurisprudence of courts of appeal. The issues related to joint custody, post-marital maintenance, social benefits, the legal position of the biological father, and cross-border maintenance, were subject to a broader analysis and assessment. From the comparative legal perspective, however, attention is drawn to the modest references to foreign law, which call for further expansion and systematization. The monograph is assessed both in terms of research and practice. Particular attention is paid to the possibility of using German regulations and experience in the Polish legal system.

Application of SVD to fault extraction from the machine symptom observation matrix (SOM) seems to be validated enough by means of data taken from real diagnostic cases. But sometimes the number of observations, i.e. rank of the SOM is low, what may influence obtained results and subsequent diagnostic decision. This was the reason to look for additional improvement by the second application of SVD to generalized fault matrix obtained by the first SVD. The result is strange, no accuracy increase flows from the application of the second SVD, independently of the SOM rank. This needs further deliberations and rethinking.
Korzyści zastosowania SVD w wielowymiarowej diagnostyce maszyn są potwierdzone przez wielu autorów. Jednak dla małej ilości obserwacji, kiedy rząd symptomowej macierzy obserwacji jest niski, wyniki mogą wydawać się nieprecyzyjne, co może wpływać na wynikowa decyzje diagnostyczną. Zatem zastosowano podwójny rozkład SVD w skrajnych przypadkach wziętych z praktyki diagnostycznej, kilkunastu i kilkuset obserwacji. Otrzymany rezultat zaprzecza początkowej supozycji, dodatkowe zastosowanie SVD nie daje żadnego wzrostu dokładności obliczeń uogólnionych symptomów. Przy okazji tych badań podwójnego SVD łatwo było skonstruować nowy uogólniony symptom wskazujący na występowanie dwu liczących się uszkodzeń w obserwowanym obiekcie, co może być istotne w sytuacjach nadzory złożonych obiektów.

Logistyka w otoczeniu organizacji cywilnych i wojskowych, jej naukowość i interdyscyplinarność, potrzeby wariantowości i wielowymiarowości praktycznej, w życiu społecznym i gospodarczym oraz funkcji zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa bytu i zysków gospodarce to treść artykułu. Celem jego opracowania było znalezienie podstawy i warunków do ustalenia zakresu jednolitego tematycznie opracowania obejmującego obszar interesujących zagadnień dotyczących wybranych aspektów współczesności systemów logistycznych, interdyscyplinarność logistyki z obszarami wiedzy, roli wielowymiarowość w rozwój logistyki.
The variety of types of modern organizations and the perception of the importance of logistics in their functioning also contribute to diversifying the importance and the essence of logistics. Modern logistics can be treated as a specific scope of scientific research and economic practice including planning, implementation and control of the flow processes of material and information goods as well as provision of services in connection with the implementation of these flows. Logistics in surroundings of civil and military organizations, its scientific and interdisciplinary character, needs of practical multi-variability and multidimensionality in social and economic life as well as function of guarantying security of existence and profits to national economy are the contents of this article. The reason for its elaboration was to find the basis and conditions for ascertaining the uniformity scope of elaboration topic concerning selected aspects of logistic systems modernity, its various relations with interdisciplinary branches of knowledge, role of multidimensionality in development of logistics.

This article is about the discussion which has been going on in Western Europe concerning interpretation of the Europeanization concept and the resulting theoretical instruments for the analysis of the effects of European integration on the political transformation in Poland after the fall of communism. It presents selected mechanisms and channels of Europeanization of EU member states with reference to the “new democracies” and the anticipative modernization of Central-Eastern Europe. This perspective is used to discuss the specific nature of Europeanization of the post-communist countries and the posttransformation crisis of democracy in some countries in the region following accession to the European Union in 2004. This crisis, according to the author, was also caused to a certain extent by the contingencies and conditions of EU accession. In Poland these contingencies and conditions triggered fears of perpetuation of the country’s peripheral position vis-à-vis the “old” European countries. These fears are related to various interpretations of modernization, dependency theory, the world system theory and globalization.

Opis:
This article analyses the semantic structure of dialectal texts concerning important historical events of the early twentieth century, describes the characteristics of their linguistic representation and presents dynamic aspects of sense formation. The analysed material comes from the older generation of respondents interviewed in the course of fieldwork conducted in 1990–2018 in the area of Ukrainian Eastern Slobodian dialects, i.e. in the far east of Ukraine (in terms of current administrative divisions – the Luhansk region). The semantic structure of oral memory texts under consideration is reflected in conceptual clusters characterised by semantic-logical features of processuality, actionality, temporality, agentivity, denotativity and axiology. These clusters include designations of phenomena and names of their referents, linked by subject relations into a comprehensive semantic complex, a nominative chain which reflects the semantic network of the text. The author argues that in the conceptual structure of a texteme concerning historical events of the early twentieth century we can distinguish central and secondary differential features. For example, the texteme holodivka (голодівка) ‘hunger, famine’ is characterised by such central differential features as ‘enumeration of plants that could be used as food’; ‘names of dishes that could be made without flour’; ‘overall assessment of the situation’; ‘enumeration of events that people had to endure’; ‘stories about how people survived in difficult conditions’; ‘how the dead were buried’; and such secondary differential features as ‘who was responsible for the famine in the country’. The components of this texteme also include reports of cannibalism, appropriation of someone else’s property and accusations against people who deprived villagers of food, guarded kolkhoz property so that nothing would be taken away, etc. These memory texts, stories in which users of dialects of the Luhansk region assess important social events of the early twentieth century, constitute one macrotext that condemns crimes against the nation – the resettlement of farmers to Siberia, coercive collectivisation, the Great Famine of 1933, alienation from anything that is Ukrainian. The evaluation of these events is mainly verbalised by means of exclamations, words expressing a strong emotional assessment.  
W artykule przeanalizowano strukturę semantyczną tekstów gwarowych dotyczących ważnych wydarzeń społecznych z początków XX wieku, opisano cechy charakterystyczne ich reprezentacji językowej oraz dynamiczne aspekty kształtowania sensu. Analizowany materiał został zebrany drogą zapisów respondentów ze starszej grupy wiekowej w latach 1990–2018 na terenach występowania ukraińskich gwar wschodniosłobodzkich, to jest na dalekim wschodzie Ukrainy (według współczesnego podziału administracyjnego – w obwodzie ługańskim). Struktura semantyczna ustnych tekstów wspomnieniowych dotyczących ważnych wydarzeń historycznych z początków XX wieku znajduje odzwierciedlenie w blokach pojęciowych, charakteryzujących się semantyczno-logicznymi cechami procesualności, akcjonalności, temporalności, agentywności, denotatywności, aksjologiczności. Są to określenia samych zjawisk oraz nazwy ogółu denotatów, powiązane relacjami przedmiotowymi w całościowy kompleks semantyczny, łańcuch nominatywny, który odzwierciedla sieć semantyczną tekstu. Autorka dowodzi, że w strukturze pojęciowej tekstemu dotyczącego wydarzeń historycznych z początków XX wieku można wyodrębnić centralne i poboczne cechy dyferencyjne. Na przykład tekstem голодівка ‘głód’ charakteryzują takie centralne cechy dyferencyjne jak ‘wyliczenie roślin, które można było wykorzystać jako pokarm’; ‘nazwy potraw, które można było przyrządzić bez mąki’; ‘ogólna ocena sytuacji’; ‘wyliczenie zdarzeń, które musieli przeżyć ludzie’; ‘opowiadania o sposobach przetrwania ludzi w trudnych warunkach’; ‘jak chowano zmarłych’ oraz poboczne cechy dyferencyjne, np. ‘kto doprowadził państwo do głodu’. Wśród komponentów tekstemu występują także relacje o przypadkach kanibalizmu, wejściu w posiadanie cudzego mienia oraz oskarżenia wobec osób, które odbierały jedzenie mieszkańcom wsi, pilnowały, żeby nikt nie wziął niczego z kołchozu itp. Teksty wspomnieniowe, opowieści, w których użytkownicy gwar obwodu ługańskiego oceniają ważne wydarzenia społeczne z początków XX wieku, stanowią jeden makrotekst potępiający zbrodnie przeciwko narodowi – przesiedlenie rolników na Syberię, przymusową kolektywizację, Wielki Głód 1933 roku, wyobcowanie od wszystkiego co ukraińskie. Podstawowymi środkami werbalizacji oceny tych wydarzeń w tekstach są wykrzykniki, słowa wyrażające zdecydowaną ocenę emocjonalną.
