Opis:
Austenitization is the first step of heat treatment preceding the isothermal quenching of ductile iron in austempered ductile iron (ADI) manufacturing. Usually, the starting material for the ADI production is ductile iron with more convenient pearlitic matrix. In this paper we present the results of research concerning the austenitizing of ductile iron with ferritic matrix, where all carbon dissolved in austenite must come from graphite nodules. The scope of research included carrying out the process of austenitization at 900oC using a variable times ranging from 5 to 240 minutes,and then observations of the microstructure of the samples after different austenitizing times. These were supplemented with micro-hardness testing. The research showed that the process of saturating austenite with carbon is limited by the rate of dissolution of carbon from nodular graphite precipitates.

Opis:
The article is devoted to one of the typical organization structures used in project managing, i.e. the matrix structure. On the basis of research into subject literature its characteristic features, and advantages and disadvantages are described. In particular, the form of this structure, the distribution of roles between project managers and line managers, their duties, typical causes of conflicts, and rules of coordination and cooperation are discussed. Also some varieties of matrix structures are presented. Next, ideal conditions are specified in which the matrix structure may be applied and the problems that are connected with its use. One of the conditions of implementation of this kind of structure is the proper organization culture. The advantages and disadvantages of the structure are discussed considering such questions as: the very project, its manager, functional cells and project personnel.

Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a systematic approach for evaluating the potential failure modes in a system, and is mainly employed in three distinct tasks labelled: (1) Functional FMEA – evaluating those failures associated with product functional definition, (2) Design FMEA – analysing those failures associated with design definition and (3) Process FMEA – assessing potential failures in manufacturing and assembly processes. The literature review has shown limited works on the field of synchronising these different tasks into a working model. To address this gap, this research developed a framework for integrating these tasks of FMEAs, and then qualitatively validating the proposed framework. This research adopted a semi-structured questionnaire to collect experts’ feedback and validate the proposed framework. The t-test was then employed to evaluate the collected feedback. The findings highlight that the proposed framework is applicable and could facilitate the synchronisation of the different tasks of FMEA. This research presents a methodological approach for executing and synchronising FMEAs. Therefore, the proposed framework is practically relevant as an aid for the practitioners in catching the cascading failures and reducing the relevant impact.

Residenz Silvae to kompleks apartamentowców w belgijskim Sint-Denijs-Westrem w pobliżu Gandawy. Obejmuje on 24 mieszkania rozmieszczone w trzech budynkach połączonych podziemnym garażem, w którym znajdują się wejścia do poszczególnych klatek. Obszar ten jest ciekawy dla inwestorów, dlatego też budowniczowie zdecydowali na wykonanie większości ścian z betonu licowego o określonej strukturze. Wykorzystali w pracy matryce strukturalne NOEplast firmy NOE-Schaltechnik z Süssen. Kierownictwo nad tym projektem objęła belgijska spółka-córka NOE-Bekistingtechniek N.V. z Zaventem.
Residenz Silvae is a complex of apartment buildings in Belgian Sint-Denijs-Westrem near Ghent. It includes 24 apartment arranged in three buildings connected via an underground garage, which contains entrances to individual staircases. This area is interesting for investors, so the builders decided to perform most of the walls of exposed concrete with a specific structure. They used NOEplast textured formliners from NOE-Schaltechnik of Süssen. That project was managed by the Belgian subsidiary of NOE-Bekistingtechniek N.V. of Zaventem.

Opis:
Ductile iron casts with a higher silicone content were produced. The austempering process of high silicone ductile iron involving different austempering times was studied and the results presented. The results of metallographical observations and tensile strength tests were offered. The obtained results point to the fact that the silicone content which is considered as acceptable in the literature may in fact be exceeded. The issue is viewed as requiring further research.

The results presented in this paper are a continuation of the previously published studies. The results of hest treatment of ductile iron with content 3,66% Si and 3,80% Si were produced. The experimental castings were subjected to austempering process for time 30, 60 and 90 minutes at temperature 300oC. The mechanical properties of heat treated specimens were studied using tensile testing and hardness measurement, while microstructures were evaluated with conventional metallographic observations. It was again stated that austempering of high silicone ferritic matrix ductile iron allowed producing ADI-type cast iron with mechanical properties comparable with standard ADI.

Duże znaczenie mają technologie inżynierii powierzchni kojarzące zabiegi obróbki cieplnej objętościowej i obróbek powierzchniowych. W pracy przedstawiono możliwość łączenia zabiegów obróbki cieplnej, wpływającej na tworzenie struktur o osnowie martenzytycznej i austenitycznej, z procesem nagniatania. Badania wykazały, że proces obróbki plastycznej powierzchniowej niewiele wpływa na własności wyrobów zahartowanych na martenzyt. Natomiast wpływ nagniatania na stal o osnowie austenitycznej jest znaczący. Umocniona zgniotowo warstwa wierzchnia miała twardość większą od stali zahartowanej na martenzyt. Wykazano ponadto, że austenit otrzymany po zahartowaniu stali z wysokiej temperatury jest trwały, a umocnienie warstwy wierzchniej o takiej strukturze zostaje częściowo zachowane po czterogodzinnym odpuszczaniu w temperaturze 480 C.
More important processes of surface engineering technology is combination of classical volume heat treatment and surface deformation, burnishing. The paper presents the mean of the combination of two technologies of NCHLVsteel: heat treatment with different of austenityzation temperature (result two structures after hardening - martensite and austenite) and burnishing. The burnishing of the steel contains martensiting structure of the matrix had not effects, but burnishing of austenite changes properties of the NC11 LV steel evidently. The hardness after burnishing was larger, then hardness of the steel after classical hardening, contains martensiting structure. The research show, that austenit - result of the heat treatment from high austenitization temperature - after hardening during deformation, after tempering (480°C, 4 h) partially remain.

Researchers have used various methods to determine the parameters of transformer- equivalent circuits in transient studies. But most of these previous algorithms had difficulty finding the equivalent circuit parameters in a bigger model. This paper presents a new method to extract the inductance matrix of a detailed model for an air core winding for transient studies using frequency-response measurement data. This matrix can be determined with acceptable accuracy by using the proposed method. The biggest advantage of the proposed method is a reduction in the search space, and thus, speedier problemsolving. Simulations showed that the use of the proposed method leads to better behavioural quality of a transformer winding. The simulation results of the previous and proposed methods were compared with the help of a 20/0.4 kV, 1600 kVA transformer. This comparison showed the accuracy and superiority of the proposed method.

The article is based on the thesis that many of them could introduce a matrix structure, which would improve the functioning of the company. Making an attempt to justify such a thesis, a case study is used as illustrative. Consequently, this article became a theoretical-empirical study.

In this paper we proposed a novel narrowband optical filter for wavelength division multiplexing applications. Due to their high transmission efficiency and very narrowband properties, we used the 5th generation Thue-Morse structure for designing our proposed filter. But novelty of our work is introducing another ID photonic crystal structure as a defect structure into the Thue-Morse structure in order to create pass band inside the photonic band gap of the Thue-Morse structure. All of the simulations and calculations have been done using the transfer matrix method. The most interesting property of this filter is that by increasing the number of the periods of the ordinary 1D photonic crystal, the number of the pass bands increases.

Zaprezentowana w pracy propozycja delimitacji tła krajobrazu Pomorza oparta została o numeryczną mapę form pokrycia terenu. Przedstawiono w niej autorską metodę umożliwiającą wyznaczenie obszarów o dominującym tle krajobrazowym i kartograficzną ich prezentację. Wykorzystano w niej jedną z modyfikacji metody przestrzennej średniej ruchomej. Stosując założenia przedstawione w pracy, dla każdej z komórek przypisano tzw. wskaźnik dominacji. W celu uzyskania mapy tła krajobrazowego, dla każdego sposobu użytkowania obliczenia wykonano oddzielnie, a następnie strefy dominującego krajobrazu nałożone na siebie. W zależności od przyjętego promienia poszukiwań wartości wskaźnika dominacji i utworzone na ich podstawie mapy tła krajobrazowego różnią się od siebie, stąd przyjęcie danego promienia poszukiwań powinno uwzględniać przydatność danej mapy np. do analiz przyrodniczych lub wynikać ze skali danego opracowania.
Presented at paper proposal of landscape structure in Pomerania Region delimitation was based on a numerical map land cover (CORINE). The original method allows to determine the areas of the dominant background of landscape and enables the cartographic presentation. It uses one of the modification of the method of spatial moving average. Using the assumptions presented in the work for each of the cells so called landscape dominance index has been assigned. To obtain a map of the background landscape, for each land use were made separately calculations, then zones of the dominant landscape were overlaid. Depending on the assumed radius search the value of the landscape domination index and created on its basis of landscape background maps differ from each other, thus adoption of the radius of the search should take into account the suitability of the map, e.g. for the analysis of natural environment or the result of the scale of the development.

Opis:
Design of a state observer is an important issue in control systems and signal processing. It is well known that it is difficult to obtain the desired properties of state feedback control if some or all of the system states cannot be directly measured. Moreover, the existence of a lumped perturbation and/or a time delay usually reduces the system performance or even produces an instability in the closed-loop system. Therefore, in this paper, a new Variable Structure Observer (VSO) is proposed for a class of uncertain systems subjected to a time varying delay and a lumped perturbation. Based on the strictly positive real concept, the stability of the equivalent error system is verified. Based on the generalized matrix inverse approach, the global reaching condition of the sliding mode of the error system is guaranteed. Also, the proposed variable structure observer will be shown to possess the invariance property in relation to the lumped perturbation, as the traditional variable structure controller does. Furthermore, two illustrative examples with a series of computer simulation studies are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method.

Celem artykułu jest omówienie wybranych elementów budowy modeli popytu w Wielkiej Brytanii. Precyzyjne odzwierciedlenie przemieszczeń na obszarze poddanym analizie jest kluczowym punktem tworzenia modelu symulacyjnego i prognoz ruchu. Dzięki zrozumieniu zasad formowania podróży, istnieje możliwość tworzenia wiarygodnych scenariuszy prognostycznych. W artykule przedstawiono podstawowe aspekty trzech wybranych elementów budowy popytu – tworzenie więźby na rok bieżący, jej kalibrację oraz funkcjonalność modelu zmiennego popytu. Omówienie zawiera podstawowe funkcje oraz powiązane z metodami wzory.
The purpose of this article is to discuss selected issues of demand modeling in the Great Britain. Precise knowledge of trips pattern inside study area is a critical point during model development and forecasts. Full understanding of journey decision process allows to create valid future scenarios. In this article three selected matters of demand modeling were shown – developing base year matrix, its calibration process and capability of variable demand model. The description includes basic functions and related formulas.
