Opis:: Obecnie najczęściej wybieraną technologią dostępu do sieci Internet jest technologia LTE. Gwarantuje ona uzyskania dużych przepływności danych przy stosunkowo niskich kosztach użytkowania. W niniejszym artykule dokonano analizy wykorzystania technologii LTE do celów monitorowania pojazdów transportu publicznego zapewniając dodatkowo łączność głosową oraz dostęp do obrazu video przekazywanego z pojazdu. W ramach weryfikacji projektu wykonano testy praktyczne prędkości transmisji danych, których wyniki nakazują weryfikację założeń projektu, czego dokonano w podsumowaniu.
Currently, the most chosen technology for mobile Internet access is LTE. It guarantees achieve high data rates at relatively low cost use. This paper analyzes the use of LTE technology for the monitoring of public transport vehicles in addition to providing voice communication and access to the video image transmitted from the vehicle. As a part of the design verification some tests were performed. These tests were data transmission speed and network signal strength. The results provide requirements for the verification of the assumptions of the project, which has been made in the summary.

Opis:: Future IP QoS (quality of service) networks are aiming at differentiating transfer quality of packets belonging to different flows. For this purpose, a set of network services (NS) with different QoS objectives is defined and implemented in the network. To a NS a certain amount of network resources, i.e. dedicated link capacity with associated buffer size, is allocated. Moreover, the resources dedicated for one NS are not available for other NSs. Traditional approach for admission control algorithm corresponding to given NS takes into account current traffic conditions inside considered NS. This can lead to the situation, due to traffic fluctuations, that temporary overloaded NS cannot use the spare bandwidth from underloaded in this time other NSs. This paper describes a conditional admission control algorithm (C-AC), allowing us to admit new packet flow conditionally in the case where no available capacity inside a given NS. For conditionally accepted flow currently unused capacity, dedicated to other NS, is allocated. This can be done only in the case when QoS requirements for both the conditionally accepted flow and the flows in progress are satisfied. The conditions for effective using of C-AC algorithm are discussed in the paper, like characteristics of NS borrowing and lending capacity and their current traffic load. To show potential benefits of the approach, exemplary numerical results are included, corresponding to hypothetical NSs using REM (rate envelope multiplexing) scheme.

Opis:: This article presents an application that is used as NetFlow collector and analyzer. It is a console application created in Python language. A software analyzer detects and analyzes incoming NetFlow messages version 1 and 5 of devices that support them. The output file is a database of information and analysis of the overall UNIX time duration of reported traffic and analysis of NetFlow lifetime. The software is developed to work with Python version 3 and higher and is designed for the Windows operating system.
W artykule przedstawiono aplikację używaną jako kolektor i analizator NetFlow. Jest to aplikacja konsoli utworzona w języku Python. Analizator oprogramowania wykrywa i analizuje przychodzące wiadomości NetFlow w wersji 1 i 5 dla urządzeń je obsługujących. Plik wyjściowy to baza danych informacji i analizy ogólnego czasu trwania zgłoszonego ruchu UNIX i analizy życia NetFlow. Oprogramowanie zostało opracowywane dla systemu operacyjnego Windows i języka Python wersja 3 lub wyższa.

In this paper, I provide an overview of a number of software utilities that are commonly employed to help set up, configure, and maintain TCP/IP internetworks. These programs allow network administrator to perform functions such as checking the identity of a host, verifying connectivity between two hosts, checking the path of routers between devices, examining the configuration of a computer, and looking up a Domain Name System domain name.
W artykule tym przedstawiono niezbędne narzędzia, którymi powinien się posługiwać każdy użytkownik pracujący w sieciach komputerowych opartych na protokołach TCP/IP. Ten obecnie najpopularniejszy standard komunikacyjny oparty na tego typu rozwiązaniach wymusza na użytkownikach znajomość podstawowych zasad komunikacji, aby samemu bez pomocy administratora wstępnie zdiagnozować problem, bądź też samemu go rozwiązać. Przedstawione tu narzędzia pozwalają w głównej mierze sprawdzić poprawność działania DNS, zawartych w ich strefach wpisów, sprawdzić zgodność odpowiedzi na przychodzące zapytania. Znajomość zasad działania serwera DNS jest kluczowa, jeżeli chodzi o bezpieczeństwo systemu.

Opis:: Today’s Internet knows no bounds. New applications are marketed every single day. Many of them incorporate video sequences. These must be transported over the Internet quickly (often in real time). However, the Internet has not been designed for live communications and, regrettably, this may become apparent all too quickly. Countermeasures are required in the form of new, eﬃcient transport techniques facilitating online video services. MPEG-DASH is one of such modern techniques. But how good is this new technique really? This paper delves into the matter. The paper contains an analysis of the impact that the new technology exerts on the quality of video streaming over IP networks. It also describes a new numerical tool – QoSCalc (DASH-HTTP) which has been used to analyze MPEG-DASH under diﬀerent use scenarios. Opis:: In the paper the designing project (plan) of Wąbrzeźno City broadband IP optical network has been presented. The extended version of network plan constitute technical part of network Feasibility Study, that will be implemented in Wąbrzeźno and be financed from European Regional Development Funds. The network plan presented in the paper contains both topological structure of fiber optic network as well as the active equipment for the network. In the project described in the paper it has been suggested to use Modular Cable System - MCS for passive infrastructure and Metro Ethernet technology for active equipment. The presented solution provides low cost of construction (CAPEX), ease of implementation of the network and low operating cost (OPEX). Moreover the parameters of installed Metro Ethernet switches in the network guarantee the scalability of the network for at least 10 years.
W pracy przedstawiony został projekt szerokopasmowej sieci IP dla miasta Wąbrzeźna. Rozszerzona wersja projektu stanowi część techniczną Studium Wykonalności zadania, które będzie wdrażane w mieście Wąbrzeźno. Zadanie to będzie współfinansowane z funduszy Regionalnego Programu Operacyjnego. Prezentowany w pracy projekt sieci zawiera zarówno opis części pasywnej (topologia kabli optycznych), jak i części aktywnej. Dla budowy części pasywnej sieci sugeruje się wykorzystanie systemu mikrokabli. Z kolei, dla budowy części aktywnej sieci sugeruje się wykorzystanie przełączników (switchy) Metro Ethernet. Zaprezentowane w pracy rozwiązanie zapewnia niski koszt inwestycyjny (CAPEX) budowy sieci, łatwość implementacji oraz niskie koszty operacyjne (OPEX). Ponadto także parametry wydajnościowe zastosowanych w sieci przełączników Metro Ethernet zapewniają skalowalność sieci przez okres co najmniej 10 lat.

Opis:: The IP over optical (IPO) network is becoming one of the most interesting among all proposed models of transport networks nowadays. In an IPO network, the reconfiguration capability of the network could be used in order to balance the load of its network elements (NEs). Reconfiguration operations (i.e., switching in OXC nodes and rerouting in IP routers) take place in real-time. Consequently, intensive changes in NEs settings might cause failures in the existing connections in the network. For that reason, changes in Nes settings should be coordinated in a reconfiguration process. In this paper, the author has proposed an optimization method for such reconfiguration process. The mathematical model of the method including computation results has been presented.

Opis:: The Traffic Flow Description (TFD) option of the IP protocol is an experimental option, designed by the Authors and described by the IETF’s Internet Draft. This option was intended for signalling for QoS purposes. Knowledge about forthcoming traffic (such as the amount of data that will be transferred in a given period of time) is conveyed in the fields of the option between end-systems. TFD-capable routers on a path (or a multicast tree) between the sender and receiver(s) are able to read this information, process it and use it for bandwidth allocation. If the time horizons are short enough, bandwidth allocation will be performed dynamically. In the paper a performance evaluation of an HD video transmission QoS assured with the use of the TFD option is presented. The analysis was made for a variable number of video streams and a variable number of TCP flows that compete with the videos for the bandwidth of the shared link. Results show that the dynamic bandwidth allocation using the TFD option better assures the QoS of HD video than the classic solution, based on the RSVP protocol.

Opis:: Modern Internet serves as a high-performance platform for an ever-increasing number of services. Some of them – video services in particular – are of the broadband variety. So, it is not surprising that segments of networks can rapidly become congested, which may lead to a deterioration in quality. It is hoped that the new MPEG-DASH technique will alleviate congestion. This paper contains an analysis of the new technology’s impact on the quality of service in IP networks. It also explains a new numerical tool QoSCalc(DASH) that has been used to analyze the DASH method in different scenarios. The results are presented graphically and interpreted.

Opis:: The paper presents recent results corresponding to a new strategy for source traffic generating, named priority forcing scheme (PFS), allowing Internet users for getting better than best effort service in IP network. The concept of PFS assumes that an application, called PFS application, sends to the network a volume of additional traffic for the purpose of making the reservations for the data traffic in the overloaded router queues along the packet path in the IP network. The emitted redundant packets, named R-packets, should be rather of small size comparing to the data packets, named D-packets. The PFS scheme assumes that the R-packets waiting in a queue can be replaced by the arriving D-packets and belonging to the same flow. In this way, the D-packets can experience a prioritised service comparing to the packets produced by a non-PFS application. Notice that the proposed solution does not require any quality of service (QoS) mechanisms implemented in the network, like scheduler, dropping, marking etc., except R- and D-packets identification and replacing. We discuss the PFS efficiency for forcing priority in the overloaded conditions. Moreover simple system analysis is also presented. Finally, the profits of using PFS scheme are illustrated by examples corresponding to FTP (TCP controlled traffic) and VoIP (UDP streaming traffic) applications.

Opis:: This paper describes a new measurement method (VS model) for determining the quality of online video services relying on modern H.265/HEVC and VP9 codecs. The said method has been developed on the basis of VQuad-HD curves (according to ITU-T J.341). This model does not refer to signal analysis, but protocol analysis instead. The parameters used are: type of video codec, encoding rate, transport technique, packet loss and burst size. The method may be implemented quickly and easily, which is one of the great advantages when using this method to measure QoS.

Omówiono stosowane obiektywne i subiektywne metody pomiarowe. Podano autorską metodę ciągłej oceny, w domu abonenta, jakości obrazów przesyłanych sieciami IP, która została zgłoszona do ITU jako wkład polskiej administracji.
The paper deals with principles of digital video transmission over IP network. Technical requirements for received picture quality as well as IP network parameters, prepared on the basis of ITU Recommendations, are given. Both objective and subjective measuring methods are described. A continuous single stimulus method developed by the author and used for quality evaluation of picture delivered over IP network at user's home is presented. This method was submitted to ITU-T as a contribution of Polish administration.

Opis:: Rekonesans jest pierwszym etapem w procesie przeprowadzenia testów penetracyjnych, polegający na zbieraniu informacji o celu ataku z ogólnie dostępnych zewnętrznych źródeł. Zebrane dane można wykorzystać w celu pozyskania np.: danych osobowych pracowników, adresów e-mail, nazw domen, adresów IP systemów osiągalnych przez sieć Internet. Dodatkowo można uzyskać informację o usługach TCP (ang. Transmission Control Protocol) i UDP (ang. User Datagram Protocol), typach systemów wykrywania włamań IPS (ang. Intrusion Prevention System) oraz IDS (ang. Intrusion Detection System). Rekonesans powinien być wykonany metodą pasywną, podczas której jest mniejsze ryzyko wykrycia działalności atakującego. Ponadto jest to legalne wyszukiwanie informacji dostępnych w Internecie. Metoda ta umożliwia zbieranie informacji bez ujawniania, że jakiekolwiek czynności są prowadzone. Reconnaissance is the first step in the penetration testing process, which involves gathering information about the purpose of attack from generally available external sources. The collected data can be used to obtain, for example, employees’ personal data, e-mail addresses, domain names, IP addresses of systems accessible via the Internet. In addition, information about Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and UDP (User Datagram Protocol) services, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are available. The reconnaissance should be done in a passive method, during which there is less risk of detecting the attacker's activity. In addition, it is a legitimate search for information available on the Internet. This method allows you to gather information without revealing that any activities are carried out. Using the selected reconnaissance programs, a lot of information about the company was analyzed.
