Opis:
A differentiable group is a group in the category of (reduced and nonreduced) differentiable spaces. Special cases are the rationals ℚ, Lie groups, formal groups over ℝ or ℂ; in general there is some mixture of those types, the general structure, however, is not yet completely determined. The following gives as a corollary a first essential answer. It is shown, more generally, that a locally compact topological transformation group, operating effectively on a differentiable space X (which satisfies some mild geometric property) is in fact a Lie group and operates differentiably on X. Special cases have already been known: X a manifold (Montgomery-Zippin), X a reduced (Kerner) or nonreduced (W. Kaup) complex space. The proof requires some analysis on arbitrary differentiable spaces. There one has for example in general no finitely generated ideals as in the case of complex spaces. As a corollary one obtains: The reduction of a locally compact differentiable group is a Lie group (by different methods also proved by Pasternak-Winiarski). It was already proved before that any differentiable group can be uniquely extended to a smallest locally compact differentiable group (as a dense subgroup). The study of the nonreduced parts of differentiable groups remains to be completed.

Opis:
In this article the issue of sectoral interest groups in contemporary Poland is examined. Public restructuring programmes significantly contributed to development of tripartite sectoral social dialogue. Evolution of that type of social dialogue provides a dramatic illustration of how the mechanisms of group interests conflict shaped the course of industrial restructuring. Experiences accumulated over the years of conducting sectoral social dialogue may now serve as a benchmark for regional modernization initiatives.

The entirety of norms on the relations connected with conclusion and performance of insurance contracts make up economic insurance law. Because of its objective homogeneity, it is generally treated as a separate branch of law. From the dogmatic perspective, its permanent element are group insurance contracts. However, the results of a comparative law research allow to draw the conclusion that in a substantial number of legal systems the term “group insurance” is not to be found in normative acts. In the literature, multiple attempts were made to expound the legal nature of the group insurance contract. Still, there is no consensus as to the nature of the legal relationship arising from conclusion of a group insurance contract. The article concerns the proposal of normative regulation of group insurance contract.

Opis:
One of the key transformations South African universities have undergone in the past two decades is the increase of racial and ethnic diversity of their student bodies and academic staff. In this study, we seek to contribute to a better understanding of these transformation processes by presenting students’ narratives of how they experience the interracial integration of student residences. We first address the potential groupist and essential underpinnings of ethno-racial identifications by situating our categories of analysis in a social-constructivist framework, underlining the situational and processual character of identifying and establishing “groupness,” while simultaneously considering the obdurate quality habitualized ways of identifying may generate. We then present an overview of our sensitizing themes as they are discussed in the literature on race and ethnicity with a focus on South Africa and student experiences. Thirdly, the article introduces the reader to the institutional context of the case study, namely, the campus of the University of the Free State and its student residences. Based on focus group discussions and thematic analyses, we present our findings in the form of the cultural themes that are central to the students’ narrations of their experiences. These themes include the salience of racial and ethnic identifications, tolerant distance, confusion, fairness, neutrality, ethnolinguistic recognition, regional public arenas, rural-urban divides, as well as socio-economic divides.

The aim of our study was to find out how kindergarten teachers perceive the issue of age-homogeneous and heterogeneous classes at kindergartens. A self-designed questionnaire and interview were used for measuring, which was part of the research methods used (interview, observation, questionnaire). The questionnaire included items aimed at finding out respondents’ opinions on the age composition of children in kindergarten classes. The research sample consisted of 234 female teachers. On the basis of results it can be stated that respondents preferred age-homogeneous groups in classes. However, those teaching age-heterogeneous classes saw more advantages of such division. Research results also showed that younger respondents preferred dividing children into age-homogeneous groups more than older respondents.

Opis:
Every organization which offers products or services wishes to communicate with their customers in the most effective way. This kind of communication is based on proper selection of target groups which are identified in the process of market segmentation. Therefore, it is very important to ask the question to whom the message is to be directed and what kind of a message we want to convey. This article describes the selection criteria for target groups in the Centre of Competence for Novel Infrastructure of Workable Applications (C2NIWA) which is organized in the structures of the Gdansk University of Technology. It is a place that provides advanced IT platforms for the production of various types of applications. C2NIWA users have access to the most current knowledge in this field, advisory services, and tools to collaborate on IT projects. They needed to be divided into target groups and the communication methods were adapted to their specifics. The result of this process is the establishment of appropriate associations with the brand. The article presents the results of a short research showing what kind of associations were successfully built in one of the target groups by using a system of visual identification – the logo of the C2NIWA.

Opis:
Polymer brushes containing epoxy groups were grafted onto a porous hollow-fiber membrane by radiation-induced graft polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate. N-Methylglucamino (NMG) groups for binding antimony(III) were introduced to the epoxy groups of the polymer brush using a range of reaction times. To determine the process of the introduction of NMG groups to the polymer brush, the water permeability through the membrane, the swelling ratio of the membrane, and the antimony(III) adsorptivity of the membrane were determined for different NMG conversion values of 0 - 76%. The water permeability and the swelling ratio indicated that the NMG groups reacted with the epoxy groups of the polymer brush on the outside of the base of the polymer first, and then with those inside the base of the polymer matrix. The molar ratio between the NMG groups and the antimony(III) adsorbed on the polymer brush was always 0.5, demonstrating that the NMG groups were introduced from the tail end of the polymer brush to the fixed end due to diffusion and reaction of the NMG groups along the polymer brush.
