Opis:: The purpose of this papers is analysis for military actions conducted by US Arms Force during Desert Storm operation in Iraq. This concern gives insight into new US attempt for military operations outside national borders following conclusions from unsuccessful military campaign in Vietnam. After 1989, US made more brave political decisions for participation in solving worldwide concerns. Origin for such state of affairs was gradual “Soviet Imperium breakdown”, that was general challenge for American foreign policy and safety. The United States began introducing New World Order vision in last decade of the twentieth century, that was created by G.H. Bush. American army obtained the role of executor in the performance of settled assumptions. The first military test was Saddam Hussein and Iraq.

Opis:: The analysis of the archival documents illustrates that speechwriting in the George H. W. Bush White House was decentralized and responsibility for crafting Bush Senior’s State of the Unions (SOTUs) was diffused among a team of different writers each year. George H. W. Bush would not use his SOTUs as an opportunity to assert his legislative leadership. The preferred structure of Bush Senior’s SOTU was a thematic, not a programmatic speech. The study concludes that a speechwriting process that fails to balance the ceremonial and deliberative aspects of the SOTU undermines the president’s opportunity to assert his legislative leadership.

Opis:: This article focuses on rhetorical continuity and shifts in the use of the genre of American war rhetoric. Drawing on Lloyd Bitzer’s understanding of the rhetorical situation, the article analyses the political circumstances in which George H. W. Bush in 1991 and George W. Bush in 2002 constructed and delivered their messages. It then examines and compares the addresses for particular typologies of war rhetoric as defined by Karlyn Kohrs Campbell and Kathleen Hall Jamieson and by Edward J. Lordan. With the rhetorical elements identified, the article discusses the implications of the adherence to and departures from the genre’s criteria for presidential war discourse.
