Opis:
In this paper, to calculate overvoltage in air-cored transformer windings under very fast transient overvoltage, firstly, the voltage transfer functions are calculated which are measured by network analyser or calculated from the distributed parameters of transformer windings. Secondly, the voltage transfer functions are fitted with rational functions by vector fitting codes and then the rational transfer functions are order-reduced by the Pade approximation. Lastly, the resultant voltage transfer functions are synthesized by the elements in Electromagnetic Transients program. The calculated voltages from the circuit by Electromagnetic Transients program are in good agreement with the measured voltages. This shows that the method is simple and robust.

Opis:
In this paper, the effect of mutual inductance (M) and its optimization on the output pulse rise time in Tesla coils is investigated. A numerical method is proposed to calculate the mutual inductance in a Tesla coil. The method is verified by performing some experiments. Eventually, the conditions for maximum voltage gain for ordinary Tesla coil and autotransformer connected one are surveyed.

Opis:
Recent development of microwave pulse generators, which are now capable of delivering very short and very intensive pulses requires properly generalized classical breakdown theory. On the other hand, the trend to design microwave devices as small and compact as possible, leads to a concern about the concomitant breakdown strength of the construction, involving more complicated geometries, such as in microwave resonators and filters. In this paper, several aspects of microwave breakdown field strength in commercially available resonator designs and filters are presented and analyzed. The numerical predictions based on the Slater theorem are compared with the analytical results and predictions of the fluid approach, demonstrating very good agreement.

Opis:
A pulsed high voltage was applied to logs for mushroom cultivation to investigate an effect of pulse high voltage on mushroom growth. Inductive energy storage system was utilized to construct a pulsed power generator with compact size. Copper fuse of 0.03 mm diameter was used as an opening switch to interrupt large circuit current in short time. The voltage charged in primary energy storage capacitor was multiplied using secondary energy storage inductor. The output voltage of the pulsed power generator was 120 kV with 100 ns pulse width at 14 kV charging voltage of 0.22 μF primary energy storage capacitor and 15 μH secondary energy storage inductor. This pulsed high voltage was applied to 90 cm length logs inoculated Pholiota nameko fungus. The yield of Pholiota nameko mushrooms was successfully improved with the pulse voltage stimulation. The total weight of the cropped Pholiota nameko after the pulse voltage stimulation was 6.3 kg for fifteen logs and this value was 1.5 times larger than 4.3 kg of total weight without the stimulation. The number of logs with lower than 0.27 kg cropped Pholiota nameko weight which was an average value for control group was only one in fifteen, whereas four logs in control group showed almost zero weight of cropped Pholiota nameko.
