The target compound N-pentyl-2,7-diphenyl-3,8a-dihydroimidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidin-3-amine have been synthesized by4-phenylpyrimidin-2-amine with Triflouro acetic acid and benzyldehyde. The obtained products were characterized by 1H NMR, Mass and IR Spectra. Purity of all the compounds has been checked on thin layer chromatographic plate and NMR analysis technique.

Opis:
1,3,6,8-tetranitro carbazole (TNC) as a secondary explosive is used in composite explosive formulations in order to reduce the sensitivity and increase the stability of the explosive composites. In this work, the thermal stabilities of pure TNC and its nanocomposites prepared via three different nanoparticles were studied by thermal analysis, i.e. differential scanning calorimetery (DSC) and thermogravimetry (TG) techniques. Thermal analysis data revealed that the thermal behavior of pure TNC is significantly different from the nanocomposites studied. Pure TNC decomposed completely during a single step in the temperature range 385-425 °C. However, the addition of nanoparticles to the TNC powder leads to higher thermal stability in comparison with the pure TNC. The decomposition kinetics of TNC and its nanocomposites were studied by non-isothermal DSC at several heating rates. Thermokinetic and thermodynamic parameters corresponding to the thermal decomposition of pure TNC and nanocomposites were computed and compared. The results showed that the addition of nanoparticles to the TNC powder has a considerable effect on the thermal stability of the explosive.

Several di-, tri- and tetranitroderivatives of alkoxy-, dialkoxy-, trialkoxy- and cyclic alkylenedioxybenzene derivatives were synthesized by nitration of starting compounds under different conditions and their properties were compared to the already known 2,4,6-trinitroanisole and TNT. Synthesized trinitro- and tetranitrocompounds of alkoxy-/alkylenedioxybenzene (especially cyclic derivatives) may serve as useful precursors for the synthesis of numerous energetic derivatives. The highest melting point (286 C) and calculated density (1.907 g/cm3) is marked for 5,6,7,8-tetranitro-2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzodioxine (TNBD). Promising properties of the latter compound allow further exploration of this material as a potential thermostable HEM.

This study mixes four different powders to produce Ti-6Cu-8Nb-xCr3C2 (x = 1, 3, and 5 mass%) alloys in three different proportions. The experimental results reveal that when 5 mass% Cr3C2 was added to the Ti-6Cu-8Nb alloys, the specimen possessed optimal mechanical properties after sintering at 1275°C for 1 h. The relative density reached 98.23%, hardness was enhanced to 67.8 HRA, and the transverse rupture strength (TRS) increased to 1821.2 MPa, respectively. The EBSD results show that the added Cr3C2 in situ decomposed into TiC and NbC during the sintering process, and the generated intermetallic compounds (Ti2Cu) were evenly dispersed in the Ti matrix. Furthermore, the reduced Cr atom acts as a β-phase stabilizing element and solid-solution in the Ti matrix. Consequently, the main strengthening mechanisms of the Ti-6Cu-8Nb-xCr3C2 alloys include dispersion strengthening, solid-solution strengthening, and precipitation hardening.

Opis:
Casting is the most widely used manufacturing technique. Furan No-bake mould system is very widely accepted in competitive foundry industries due to its excellent characteristics of producing heavy and extremely difficult castings. These castings have excellent surface finish and high dimensional stability. Self setting and high dimensional stability are the key characteristics of FNB mould system which leads to reduce production cycle time for foundry industries which will ultimately save machining cost, labour cost and energy. Compressive strength is the main aspect of furan no bake mould, which can be improved by analyzing the effect of various parameters on it. ANN is a useful technique for determining the relation of various parameters like Grain Fineness Number, Loss on Ignition, pH, % resin and temperature of sand with compressive strength of the FNB mould. Matlab version: R2015a version 8.3 software with ANN tool box can be used to gain output of relation. This paper deals with the representation of relationship of various parameters affecting on the compressive strength of FNB mould.

Polichlorowane dibenzo-p-dioksyny (PCDD), w tym 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioksyna (TCDD), należą do grupy związków chemicznych zwanych trwałymi zanieczyszczeniami organicznymi (TZO), (ang. persistent organic pollutants, POPs). Trwałe zanieczyszczenia organiczne są wykrywane w śladowych ilościach prawie we wszystkich przedziałach środowiska globalnego ekosystemu. Około 90% dioksyn dostaje się do organizmu człowieka z pożywieniem. Związki z grupy trwałych zanieczyszczeń organicznych gromadzą się w tkance tłuszczowej, są wolno metabolizowane i szkodliwe, nawet po długim czasie od początkowego narażenia. Dioksyny są związkami, które sukcesywnie i powoli kumulują się w organizmie. Wpływają na wiele reakcji immunologicznych, które przebiegają pod postacią przewlekłych alergii skórnych. Głównym miejscem działania dioksyn są interakcje z gruczołami wydzielania wewnętrznego: tarczycą, gonadami żeńskimi i męskimi, endometrium macicy oraz z nadnerczami, w których są wytwarzane hormony steroidowe. Dioksyny mogą powodować zaburzenia gospodarki hormonalnej organizmu poprzez indukcję receptora węglowodorów aromatycznych (AhR). Mechanizm patogennego oddziaływania TCDD z tkankami i komórkami często nie jest w pełni poznany, jednak na pewno w te mechanizmy jest włączony stres oksydacyjny, a także jakościowe i ilościowe modyfikacje receptorów komórkowych lub białek docelowych czy immunomodulacja. Celem pracy było opracowanie i walidacja czułej metody oznaczania 2,3,7,8-TCDD w środowisku pracy w zakresie 1/10 ÷ 2 wartości najwyższego dopuszczalnego stężenia (NDS). Opracowana metoda polega na: adsorpcji TCDD na piance poliuretanowej, ekstrakcji zatrzymanego związku toluenem i analizie chromatograficznej otrzymanego roztworu przy zastosowaniu wysokorozdzielczego spektrometru mas. Wyznaczony współczynnik desorpcji TCDD z pianki poliuretanowej za pomocą toluenu, wynosi 83,1%. Odpowiedź detektora mas ma charakter liniowy (r = 0,998) w zakresie stężeń 18 ÷ 360 pg/ml, co odpowiada zakresowi 1,8 ÷ 36 mg/m3 (1/10 ÷ 2 wartości NDS) dla próbki powietrza o objętości 10 m3. Granica oznaczalności (LOQ) tej metody wynosi 10,26 pg/ml. Zastosowanie do analizy kolumny DB-5MS pozwala na selektywne oznaczenie TCDD w obecności: toluenu, nonanu oraz innych związków współwystępujących. Opisana metoda analityczna charakteryzuje się dobrą precyzją oraz dokładnością i spełnia wymagania zawarte w normie europejskiej PN-EN 482 dla procedur dotyczących oznaczania czynników chemicznych. Opracowana metoda oznaczania TCDD w powietrzu na stanowiskach pracy została zapisana w postaci procedury analitycznej, którą zamieszczono w załączniku. Zakres tematyczny artykułu obejmuje zagadnienia zdrowia oraz bezpieczeństwa i higieny środowiska pracy będące przedmiotem badań z zakresu nauk o zdrowiu oraz inżynierii środowiska.
PCDD are environmental pollutants, called Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs). Their trace amounts can be found in almost all the spectrum of global ecosystems. Nearly 90% of human exposure to dioxins comes from food. POPs compounds, which gather in fatty tissues, are slowly metabolized and remain harmful even after a relatively long time after exposure. Dioxins enter the human body with food and accumulate in fat-rich tissues. Dioxins gradually and slowly accumulate in the body. They trigger a number of immunological reactions, which take the form of chronic skin allergies. They can disturb the body hormone economy through induction of the aromatic hydrocarbon receptor. The aim of the work was to develop and validate a sensitive method of determining 2,3,7,8-TCDD in the working environment in the range of 1/10–2 MAC values. The developed method consists in adsorption of TCDD on polyurethane foam followed by extraction of the retained compound with toluene and chromatographic analysis using a high-resolution mass spectrometry. The determined TCDD desorption coefficient from polyurethane foam with 20% acetone in toluene is 83.1%. The response of the mass detector is linear (r = 0.998) in the concentration range of 18–360 pg/ml, which corresponds to the range of 1.8–36 mg/m³ (1/10–2 MAC) for an air sample of 10 m³ . The limit of quantification (LOQ) of this method is 10.26 pg/ml. Using a DB-5MS capillary column makes a selective determination of TCDD in the presence of toluene, nonane and other co-existing compounds possible. The developed method is characterized by good precision and accuracy and meets the requirements of European Standard PN-EN 482 for procedures on determining chemical agents. The developed method of determining TCDD has been recorded as an analytical procedure (see appendix). This article discusses the problems of occupational safety and health, which are covered by health sciences and environmental engineering.

Opis:
Here, an emerging, threatening disease, influenza in dogs, is presented. Like other mammalian influenza viruses, canine influenza virus (CIV), causes an acute respiratory infection. There is no season for this disease and infections can occur any time of the year. Dogs have acquired two influenza viruses since 1999. Canine influenza H3N8 virus is thought to develop from an equine H3N8 strain, whereas canine H3N2 influenza virus most likely arose through the direct transfer of an avian influenza virus from birds. The H3N8 CIV has only been reported in dogs, whereas the H3N2 CIV has caused clinical cases in dogs and cats in Asia, and antibodies to this virus have been found in both species. Almost all dogs exposed to canine influenza virus become infected, with approximately 80% developing clinical signs of disease. Some dogs have asymptomatic infections, while some have severe illness, however death cases due to CIV infection are rare. Fatal H3N8 cases in racing greyhounds were often characterized by hemorrhages in the lungs, mediastinum and pleural cavity. Severe hemorrhagic, cranio-ventral broncho-interstitial pneumonia was reported in most fatal cases of canine H3N2 influenza in naturally infected dogs from Asia. Experimentally infected dogs also had signs of pneumonia with multifocal to coalescing reddish consolidation, edema and hemorrhages in the lungs. No lesions were found outside the respiratory tract. The majority of infected dogs have the mild form of canine influenza. The approximately 20% of infected animals that do not exhibit clinical signs of disease can still shed the virus. The diagnosis is performed by serological methods, with hemagglutination inhibition (HI) as the test of choice, and by molecular methods as RT-PCR. Treatment is supportive, and often includes antibiotics to control secondary bacterial infections. Vaccines for canine influenza are available in some areas. Infection control measures include isolation of infected animals, cleaning and disinfection of cages, bowls and other fomites, and hygiene measures.

Triacetone triperoxide (3,3,6,6,9,9-hexamethyl-1,2,4,5,7,8-hexoxonane; TATP) is one of the most frequently used improvised explosives, often misused worldwide. In our previous studies, we had observed that the kind of acid used to catalyse its formation has a significant influence on TATP's properties. TATP was prepared using five different acids that are often used in improvised conditions. All of the samples were subjected to natural ageing in both open and closed vials at laboratory temperature. During ageing, TATP sublimes and decomposes. The changes in crystal size and shape after ageing were documented by optical microscopy. The mass loss was monitored about every third day during ageing. Samples prepared using sulphuric and perchloric acids lose weight more quickly than the others due to chemical decomposition. The friction sensitivity was determined for all samples before and after ageing. Neither the type of acid used nor the influence of closing the vials had any significant influence on the friction sensitivity after ageing. The friction sensitivity of all tested samples of TATP was about the same ? between that of lead azide and that of mercury fulminate.

The high densities and (strain-induced) enthalpies of formation of cage-type molecules have drawn attention to their polynitro derivatives as potential energetic materials. Several such compounds have been synthesized, including octanitrocubane and hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane. One that has not yet been prepared but has evoked continuing interest is 1,3,5,7-tetranitro-2,4,6,8- tetraazacubane. Some years ago, on the basis of a very high estimated density (about 2.19 g/cm3), it was predicted to have detonation properties greatly superior to those of HMX. We have now used computational procedures developed since that time to reassess the expected detonation performance of this compound. We find: density, 1.940 g/cm3; solid phase enthalpy of formation at 298 K, 757 cal/g; detonation velocity, 9.8 mm/µs; detonation pressure, 444 kbar; impact sensitivity, h50 ∼ 40 cm. These are all better than the corresponding values for HMX, but not by as much as had been estimated earlier.

II nucleo originale del libro di Amos sembra essere stato costituito dalia raccolta delle sue visioni. II numero di cinque, suddivise in tre gruppi, sono attualmente contenute nel’ultima parte del libro: le prime tre al capitolo 7, la quarta al capitolo 8, la quinta al capitolo 9. Le prime tre visioni sono costruite secondo lo stesso schema. Iniziano con una formula identica: „Ecco quello che mi ha fatto vedere il Signore Jahvè”. La rivelazione e dunque data dall’oggetto o dalla realtà che il profeta vede. Nella prima di queste rivelazioni 1'oggetto e molto semplice: si tratta del formarsi di uno sciame di cavallette che invade la campagna. L'oggetto della seconda e piu difiicile da definire: si tratta di un Aipęp che divora il territorio di Israel|ij;fuoco di tale portata che prosciuga anche l’abisso primordiale. Alla vista di questi fenomeni Amos intercede per Israele e la minaccia espressa dalla visione non si effettua. La terza visione si distingue dalle precedenti. Il profeta non è solo posto in presenza di un oggetto, ma viene interrogato da Dio su ció che vede. Si parla di un oggetto di misurazione (filo a piombo, livello), di un uomo e di un muro. I’interpretazione più probabile è che si tratti della misurazione del muro stesso da parte di uno sconosciuto. Amos vedrebbe insomma qualquno intento a controllare la perpendicolarità da un muro con uno strumento quale il filo a piombo. Amos non intercede più per il popolo ma tace di fronte alla sentenza di condanna. La quarta visione riprende lo schema della terza visione. Il profeta si trova in presenza di un oggetto, in questo caso un cesto di frutta, e viene interrogato da Jahvè con la già nota domanda: „Chi vedi?”. II senso della visione è espresso in questo caso nel gioco di parole tra i termini „maturo” e „fine”. La quinta visione costituisce invece un caso a sè. Il profeta si trova in presenza di Jahvè stesso nel tempio, in vicinanza dell’altare; il tempio viene colpito dal terremoto e sembra precipitare su tutti i presenti uccidendoli. Alla distruzione del tempio fa seguito un ampio oracolo in cui Jahvè illustra il signifcato di questa condanna.
